I sort of agree with @gingervampireFTW ... I mean, the original should be more respected than the Glee version. Then again, I figure, just let the gleeks enjoy this. The only issue I have with this is the context. I mean, this song is about the childhood, teen years and all the personal stories of those 17 dancers, not Rachel and What'shisface... so I dunno about using this song.
@TheVALENTINEINK it was suppose to take place in Rachel's bedroom in the episode Hell-O (the episode that introduced Jesse) this would have been there unseen "date"
Why do people think this is good? I've got nothing against the people singing, but they just butchered a great broadway show tune for me. I'm trying to find the original version of this song and I can't because everyone keeps posting this crap. Seriously, try looking for the original song, and this comes up. I hate how Glee tries to modernize songs that weren't ment to be modernized. Seriously, I hate it.
@gingervampireFTW think your kinda being a theater snob when it comes to this particular point while those were good and still remain good (well for the most part) there is nothing wrong with modernizing stuff and revisiting it not to mention that argument would be better served on something that was far more bastardized than this little tune. I can appreciate the concept of your argument but really this is a poor example of the point you are trying to make.
i feel like, what i did for love from a chorus line was amazing (leas cover obvs.) but when you take out mark and connies solos in Hello12Hello13HelloLove it just doesnt work. and the voices and music make the song too poppy. which, its not. o.o
Oh wow I JUST noticed they covered this song. They need to do more songs from a chorus line to make up for cutting this! Although I realize that the majority of glee watchers are probably not familiar with this song/show and would've been confused by this number.
Personally, I don't like Glee doing Chorus Line, it feels like they're cheapening the caliber of the show. This cover is awful. It cuts out all of the angst and meaning behind the song. Idk, I always think it's either a hit or a miss with Glee covers. This one was a miss for me, by far.
This is perfect for them! If any of you are familiar with the idea of Spring Awakening...you all know what I mean! I cannot get over the fact that they did not put this in the show! Love this song!
@mistake34 Oh believe me. It's not a good song for Sesame Street. If you knew A Chorus Line, this is the beginning of a 4 part montage: Montage, Part 1: Hello Twelve, Hello Thirteen, Hello Love. Montage, Part 2: Nothing. Montage, Part 3: Mother. Montage, Part 4: Gimme The Ball. If you listen closely to the lyrics, it's about ADOLESCENCE. Some of the parts are about gonorrhea, being hard, etc. That's REALLY for toddlers.
they had it playing very briefly in the background of the Madonna episode.. at the beginning when they were making out.. but they only played the music, it never made it to the singing.
I bet they are Gunna do an extened version to an episode and put this song in it cause the recent nine episodes were still part of the first season so they have to come out with the first full season on DVD
this ISN'T spam, but there's a website called keepvid, you just put your url in and it'll let you download pretty much any vid you want, if you have something that converts to mp3 you can easily make these vids (download as mp4 usually) into songs
They cut it cause it wouldn't make sense for them to sing this in a library. In the song has a feel that they were growing up and wanting to have sex, Jesse and Rachel were meeting for the first time, this song wouldn't make sense with the plot of them meeting.
