And as Titanic was cruising at 20 knots plus, those poor bastards wouldn't have seen a thing until it was way too late, even if the ship was capable of making a sharp turn. Stopping the engines and turning away from the berg was the dumbest thing they could have done. They should have steered straight into it..

It's sort of depressing and sad at the end of the movie where the people die and the boat sinks.Even the song playing while people are screaming in pain and suffering on the ship.

@neil73 Probably because it was something like the end of an era. It sank in 1912, the world had yet to see the terrors of total war, and technology had yet to fail the people. Then technology failed in so spectacular a fashion, destroying the unsinkable ship. ANd before technology had the time to bring back the same optimism prior to Titanic, World War 1 showed just how horrific industrialized warfare truly was. That is why Titanic has the most impact of all lost ships.

So lets say youre a surgeon, and you do open-heart surgery on a daily basis. you should be earning more than others, correct? well, in a communist country, you would earn the same ammount as a person who works at macdons. while this goes on, a single group of people who rules the country makes all the money. Of all the ships that sank SINCE Titanic, it is Titanic which griops the imagination, has had more qritten about it and more films made than any other ship. Why is that?
The hardly remembered Estonia Ferry sank in the 1990's with a loss of almost 1,000 people, and I bet at least 80% of those who've posted on this video have never heard of it. :(

@neil73 Probably because it was something like the end of an era. It sank in 1912, the world had yet to see the terrors of total war, and technology had yet to fail the people. Then technology failed in so spectacular a fashion, destroying the unsinkable ship. ANd before technology had the time to bring back the same optimism prior to Titanic, World War 1 showed just how horrific industrialized warfare truly was. That is why Titanic has the most impact of all lost ships.
