Alone In The Dark did not "start" survival horror, but instead it paved the way for what horror games would look like. It was the first ever 3D horror game which is something we even see today. Capcom copied this technique and Resident Evil was born. Although that franchise is getting tired now.

probably one of the best PSX, PS1 games ever - great graphics, 2 scenarios, 2 different characters, great sound effects, full of puzzles, etc

Resident Evil is cool but doesn't scare, It just use the surprise effect over and over again, silent hill scares more. And Alone in the Dark was first than resident so you must respect It.

PAL is a TV system for color generation, generally used in Europe, and possible Australia.

The US uses NTSC.

When I says PAL version, it means the European PS2.
