  • @movieonyoureyelids I didn't pick up on the possible A Clockwork Orange reference. That's a good chance of being correct I reckon. Pretty sick reference, but perhaps that was the intent!

  • Stevenbogarat - don't you see this is an atheist song?

"Praise him till you've forgotten what you're praising him for, then praise him a little bit more"..?

Unless you were being sarcastic, if so, I apologise.

  • @rylestar you appaerently know nothing about nick cave, his religious beliefs, or his sense of (black) humor

unless you were being sarcastic, if so.....

  • @butown2 Ok, well how about you interpret it your way and I'll interpret it mine.

That's how most people treat religion anyway...

  • Such a sad thing I can watch most of Nick Cave's videos only when I'm abroad. Screw you, EMI Music :(

  • I remember about 4 or so years ago they showed this between shows on SBS sometimes...fantastic!

  • Te nem lathattad reggel, de mindenki megfordult Utanad. Kiveve engem. En eleve ugy alltam, hogy hatulrol tunj fol eloszor. Feltem, nem birnam elviselni az elmenyt. Es igazam volt. A ferfiak - oke, par no is: egyik se az esetem - harmadfoku egesi serulesekkel doltek jobbra-balra. Eletveszelyes vagy, de megengedem, hogy megvendegelj. Az olelest szorosan, a csokot edesen, a Halacskat forron talalva szeretem. De nem varok el semmit. Csak gyeregyeregyere. Kerlek szepen.

  • this was fucking great on hurricane festival 2009!!!!

  • Well, most of all nothing much ever really happens And God rides high up in the ordinary sky Until we find ourselves at out most distracted And the miracle that was promised creeps quietly by The mighty wave their hankies from their high-windowed palace Sending grief and joy down in supportable doses And we search high and low without mercy or malice While the gate to the Kingdom swings shut and closes.
  • reckon he'll play this at glastonbury?

  • que tipo tan fantastico!!!

  • This was more an ad for the live DVD more than anything.

    It's a good dvd

  • my mum was at this concert!

  • Really great!

  • Nick visita México por favor.

  • out fuckn standing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Of course this is dubbed. It's the studio track from the album. They just played it over some footage from the Abattoir Blues Tour.

Christ Warren's playing violin one minute and 2 seconds later he's on the Mandocaster. Talk about a quick switch.

  • Oh, I'am ready, Nick !!!

  • I recall the first time I heard this song. Totally blown away by everything, the words the music, the atmosphere. It suits a big stage performance, it's energetic and powerful. Thanks go out to Dr. Cave for this fantastic song and equally superb double album. Dig!!! Lazarus Dig!!! is certainly a very different collection of songs but no less brilliant in my opinion.

  • WOW! I am tantilized!

  • This is just such a great track, Outstanding, brilliant, Nick in his finest style, as always excellent.

  • i think you are right..at least kinda...at about 42 or 43 seconds in, he throws his hands up in the air while singing....how is he singing into the mic?...then around 1:19ish his jacket is gone...then suddenly returns...and it does this again at about 2:25 though i think it is more that they just spliced in a couple extra clips for some reason...

  • its the music video not the ACTUAL live song, like most music videos its a mash up, the live performance is on a DVD

  • absolutely FANTASTIC!!!! This is the kind of perfection every musician should strive for!

  • song and performance are great.

    backing singers are funtastic...

especially the girl in the middle

    :)

  • alucinante!

  • Greatest title for a song ever?

  • I want a gospel group to put out an album featuring a bunch of brit/aussie alterno types as backup singers.

  • is cave

    he rulz

    mierda q si

  • I saw this live a couple of years ago at Festival hall-fantasic,my ears are still ringing.

    great concert,great song live,love the gospel-ly singers

  • The song is meant to be dubbed because its a music video. And its meant to be preachy, thats the vein of the whole album.... "Praise him till you've forgotten what you're praising him for. Praise him a little bit more"

  • what album is this .And is there an audio of THIS prformance. Loved Nick and the seeds back in the day but this performance has totally floored me . I need more!!!!

  • Yeah This is the double album Abbatoir Blues/Lyre of Orpheus which in my opinion is actually the overall best album they've ever released. a definite must-have.

  • wtf do you mean 'too preachy'? THAT'S THE SONG YOU FREAKS?

Also the backing singers do an excellent job and one of them is quite hot.

  • Doesn't anyone notice that this is dubbed?

  • It's not uncommon for a music video to be footage of live shows with the album track dubbed over that footage. It seems that you've never seen a music video before with how retarded that comment was.

  • I'm with westost completely.

  • Is it only I who find the lyrics for this particular song ridicolous? Way too preachy...

  • God is in the house, indeed.

  • I'm ready. :-)

  • Good to see Nick's remembering how to rock after so many ballad heavy albums. Kudos to the backup singers. They add another level of depth.

  • nice, but Nick and Bad Seeds could have made sth better

  • I was there! woo

  • that rocked.

  • i love this man
