  • From gesture to facial expressions, he acts just like Paul McCartney.

  • i know this is silly.

but by "good acoustics" people don't necessarily mean long resonance but they mean its clear and easy to hear subtleties in w.e. is being played/sung/etc right?

  • If you all know so much, why are you watching a tutorial

  • First, acoustic has nothing to do with sound ISOLATION (is impossible to have soundproofing, unless you make a airless gap between two spaces).

Second, someone speaking about acoustics and having more gear than acoustic treatment in his room? Watch out people!

    Expert village my ass....

  • Hey Expert, There is no such thing as Soundproofing..

You can control the Acoustics but you can not make something soundproof... If you could you wouldn't hear anything inculding yourself.

  • HEY HEY !! LMAO

  • he sais "and deadness" so pleasantly. LOL

  • or you just use effects for deadening the sound or livening it. LOL

  • Not so easy when deadening!

Plus it's good to deaden your room for monitoring purposes even if you don't record there

  • he tells us about sound and this vodeo has so much hiss.. haha and the mic clips when he yells.. no compressor/limiter there haha he is funny and he should stop talking and learn to record.. haha i'm just having fun here ok ;)

  • This is ridiculous! If you want to know the frequency response of your space get a real time analyzer and run some pink noise into a measurement microphone. This guy knows nothing about acoustics!

  • Darn Youtube, that was aimed at the person who said USB Microphones are crap =) :P

  • Clap,Clap,Clap, Check!! Hey!! Hey!!

  • that was a cheap call

  • CHECK! HEY, HEY!! hahaha

i like this guy he seems real cool and knows what hes talkin about.. id like to record with him

  • You use a reflector to absorb?

  • is Samsung G-Track Usb Condenser Microphone a good mic for a home studio

  • usb mics=crap. end of story

  • agreed!

  • That would depend entirely what you're planning to do. I don't fancy getting involved in too much of a discussion but take for example the Samson C01U or Q1U - both excellent microphones. Ideal for podcasting or the like. For portable use, USB Microphones, in my opinion gain favor over a mixer/mic/pre amp etc - it's so much easier if you've got a laptop or the like and wish to record a podcast or an acoustic instrument anywhere you go, just plug the USB lead in and you're away.

  • for a sound pro this video doesn't have good sound

  • Maybe your sound system is shit, sevegarza

  • Big time thanks.Very valuable information.

  • This video's NOT about soundproofing at all, more about absorbtion, which is a completely different topic.

  • I am doing neo soul. rnb vocals, do I want deadness?

  • Hard to say. If youre recording in a makeshift studio and it is not professionally treated I would go for a dead sound. Its easy to add reverb or delays after. It is almost impossible to remove a bad sounding room. When I do all of my vocals I do it in my closet (full of clothes foam and blankets) its not sound proof but very dead. I then go in and add a plate or small room reverb and a bit of delay (around 10-15 ms) It wont sound as good as a professional room but its better than a shitty room

  • Very nice. Getting ready to Soundproof my office.

  • It's so nice to know some people have the time and preoccupation to help other peoples understand some rules of acoustic.

    Congratulations for the video.
