I love their cute little noses. The only problem though is that the dwarf hamsters tend to fight their kin and if one of them gets a bite on the nose and starts bleeding. It has a hard time breathing and eventually dies. I use to have hamster around 5 years ago--makes me sad thinking about it; however they're the best pets ever.

I want two or three myself (I know they need the company of conspecifics), but I never had hamsters before, just a dwarf rabbit. My mom was alergic to it, so I had to give it away. I want to try to hold this type of hamster to see if she's alergic to them, too. My question is now, if I should stick to normal hamsters first or if it would be a good idea to get these as a beginner.
