OMG that's soooo funny! We have a Schipperke named Bear....he "slaps" us with his little paws when we try and get the ball from him. We laugh sooooo hard playing with him. They really are great dogs. We found him about a year ago (on the street)....no microchip, nothing. We made an appointment to take him to the Humane Society and within that time became attached to him....He has brought a lot of joy to our lives.....:)

She became blind during the last 2 years of her life and passed in 2004. We miss her so much especially my father.

i swear,at night when our lil schip is in the other room and the lights are off.....when she get's pissy when we dont throw the toy,i have to keep telling myself she's only 8lbs, not a wolf.those teeth dont lie.

And the other night he was carrying around my stuffed Luigi until I took it away.
We had two schipperkes... Sadly one passed away a few years back. But Sadie would always protect her toy, especially from her little sister Roxie. Sadie showed her teeth, and sometimes shed curl her lip like Elvis. Too cute!!! I miss her. We still have Roxie. She's a little lovebug.

I think this is a common schipp trait - which I didn't realize until I saw this video and read some of the comments. They definitely are very territorial. Our schip is most definitely my husband's dog - haha.

That's funny my last skip did that as well. If she was playing with her toy she would let anyone touch it and her and she would show her teeth. Blow in her face and the teeth would show. She passed on last year after 15 1/2 years. I have another one she is 1 1/2 and she is so sweet no teeth/barking all she does is play and kiss. So different from my other one. Either way the skip's are awesome dogs and very very smart.
Mine would do the same exact thing! They looks so funny because theyre such small dogs, but boy are the territorial...especially when it comes to food. But he never bit me. Schipperkes are incredibly intelligent dogs. Theyre the best!

The first time we saw your videos, we were rolling on the floor laughing because JJ is so much like Poppy! I'm sorry that people leave you mean comments! They just don't understand the mind of the Schipperke.
I have a dog (Ozzie) who's father is a shiperke/pavilion and a mom thats yorkshir terrier/ keirn terrier , its just so funny that Ozzie looks more like a shiperke than his father x) but he never shows teeth only say funny sounds for example if he gets angry he mix growl with howl and that almost sounds like a hyjaene (ofc not a laughing one) but hes just the funniest dog ever, ofc im not laughing if he gets mad but its still pretty funny :)
Our schipperke is 15...can't hear much but is still so much fun. Still loves boating, a million walks a day and tussling with our Australian Shepperd.

If you take a big handful of fur on each side of his neck near his face and give him a shake, he sounds just like Chewbacca! This is my second Schip and I can't picture myself owning anything else... except maybe a Belgian Shep, or as we call them, Big Schipperkes with Tails.
I laughed so hard. That was a really cute dog. My dog Charlie is half Schipperke and half Dachshund. His Mom is the Schipperke, that must be where Charlie gets his craziness from. lol
Our Schip Samantha was like this if you tried to take her blanket away. She would snarl and go crazy, but never hurt you. I think it was a game and she enjoyed showing her humans who was the boss..

that is a total riot! I had a schipperke that did the exact same thing! He;d be sitting on the couch, happy as can be, but just point at him and out come the teeth! This brings back some great memories. He passed away several years ago and I really miss him.
My dogs like each other, but are kind of sassy around strange dogs. They did that with each other to, everytime we woould bring another schippy home. As for the stuffed animals, they have a big bedroom full.lol And they rip them to shreads.lol I replace them almost weekly, with trips to the local thrift store.lol

Some have took this video the wrong way. JJ isn't mean. He is very gentle, and lovable. He will go get one of his toys, and want you to play with him in this manner. My husband and I are good dog parents. Our kids are very well taken care of. So for the handful of people who have sent us hate mail. We didnt ask you to view our movies anyway.
My Mugsy does that when i pick him when he's been napping. He even makes devil noises. Never with snap or bite but he show teeth and make devil noises.
Our Presto only does that to other dogs... she's a typical AAA personality Schip. We trained her to not do anything like that to people, but we still trust her to give play bites without hurting... even the baby! He'll grab her food with no fear of reprisal, so we did something right.
My Schipperke used to do things like that until I explained to her that it was NOT allowed. Now, I can even pat her while she's got a bone. In fact, I can take the bone away. It's the best bit of training she's had. . unfortunately, it only works for us. Guests and strangers are still at risk.
Our Schipperke does that too!!! We call it "Wolf Face." He does it when we try to pick him up or move him against his will. We say, "Bobo is making Wolf Face!"

Actually, ours are all pretty tall. JJ is soild. He looks a lot bigger than he is, but he is all hair. Our girls are all soft coated.
