Think abut this for 1 second. How can Jesus pray for you? If all things are for him and by him, who then does he pray to to get you what you need?...gotta dissect that word.
This guy is preaching a bunch of prosperity crap and scratching itching ears all while using the name of the Lord to sell his message. Shame on him. God does not call us to live above our means. In fact we're called to suffer for Christ. Because through our suffering God's grace shines through, we depend on him, and we are made worthy of serving Christ. God doesn't want us all to be millionaires. He wants us to deny ourselves and our idolatrous hearts and serve him with body, soul, and mind.
• Lastly, regardless of what a man’s calling is, be it preaching or any other vocation, it’s by God’s design. When God has plans for someone’s life, it is without repentance! Meaning that he calls to be who we are already know that we are going to fall short & make mistakes. In other words, there is nothing that you, I, nor Pastor Bryant has to do, in order to prove ourselves worthy because it’s He who calls us, He who justifies us, and He who glorifies us (not man)!
Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God's wrath through him!
•Moreover, regardless of what man may think or say, we are not saved by man and when we do fall short it’s okay because the blood of Christ saves us, even in our mess!
@hebrewjisrael Again, in 1 John 1:7-9 He reminds us that we are save Jesus’ blood, which affords us his grace and cleanses us from our sins. What is more important about this scripture is that is tells us that if we sin and fall short of God’s glory, that He is faithful and just to figure us of our shortcomings.
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.
If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
They were using this question as a trap, in order to have a basis for accusing him.
But Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground with his finger. When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, "If any one of you is without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone at her."

Well, a lot of people just brush the pope's child molestation charges under the rug, they don't listen to the media or any other source with this information, simply because he's an important religious figure. Jesus wasn't even written about until about 400 years after he died, by people who didn't even know him. Coupled with the stolen pagan traditions and the fact that Jesus' story coincides with many other important religious figures throughout history and I'd say Jesus wasn't really who he or others claimed he was.

Why don't you put this to the test and stop worshipping god for a year, and sin a little? See if your life falls to shambles. After a year, if your life is a mess and you want to pull things back together, just ask god for forgiveness and start worshipping again. He'll forgive you. If everything is fine or your situation even improves, then what does it have to do with any kind of god? You have nothing to lose.

I used to try and talk with him for 12 years and nothing ever came of it. I know people who say they literally TALK with god, but I never even caught a glimpse of his influence while I was a believer, so why should I believe now without some definite sign?

If you look around at the Earth and say "There's no other way that this could exist than god" then you're ignorant. It's certainly very difficult if not impossible to determine how exactly everything came to be, but I think it's entirely void of intellect to simply make an answer up because it's easier to wrap your brain around.

Yes, you do disappear poof. You go in the ground and the bugs and bacteria eat away at your corpse until you're nothing. You go into nothingness just as you came from nothingness. It's not so bad, you didn't exist once, you won't even know you don't exist again.

My reason and not my excuse is that there is absolutely no reason to believe. You're granting significance to events that are otherwise commonplace and mundane. When you pray for something and you get it, you were going to get it anyway, and when you pray and it doesn't work out, that's just because it didn't work out. I find it funny that people have to make excuses for god when he doesn't come through on a prayer, but praise him when something goes right.

Maybe that's the case for you, but there have been thousands upon thousands of people who have prayed for a loved one to survive in the hospital and that person died, or didn't make it home alive from the war our countries are currently in, or were beheaded by crazy extreme Islamic arabs, or countless other thousands of prayers that god just didn't feel like answering.
@Malumbrus-first of all you can pray for a person to stay alive but how do you know the person didn't want to leave? the doctors told us my mom was going to die with in the week there is nothing they can do..she prayed to God i shall live and not...that was 2000 this is 2010 and she is still alive..even if she had died it doesn't mean there is no God!
How do you figure? If you pray and the person dies, isn't that an indication that he isn't listening? Or is that the situation where you dismiss his absence, cover your eyes and ears, repeat "Jesus loves me" over and over and make an excuse for him?
@Malumbrus-there are things inlife we won't ever understand,there are some questions inlife we'll never get the answers but whiles we are looking at a situation God looks into it and theres a reason for everything..and then those people who go into those war first and for all what are you fighting for? and how much familes have prayed and there love ones did come home?
You're on the right track with this frame of mind. You're right, there are questions we don't know the answers to and there are things we will never know, like what happens after death. What you DON'T do is fill in those questions with answers that some hippies from ancient times wrote down in a book and call it a day. You inquire, you explore, you investigate, you test and observe and record and have your records reviews by others.

I don't have to know them. I know prayers go unanswered, or else the expression "god works in mysterious ways" wouldn't exist. THAT is an expression we created in order to give god an excuse for not really existing. We just brush it off and pretend like he didn't answer our prayers on purpose, when in reality he simply is just not there to answer them. And sometimes things go our way, and sometimes they don't, but he never has anything to do with it.

Either he answers the prayers of his devout worshipers or he doesn't. If it's just left up to the random chance that he'll grant your wish, then why pray at all? You're just as well off as when you don't.
And the reason I can say confidently that you simply die and "sleep" for eternity after death is because there is no scientific evidence to suggest otherwise. The notion that there's a magic ghost inside of you and it lives beyond your lifespan is as realistic as the notion that there's a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow and all you have to do to get it is catch the leprechaun that guards it.

he came to Bethel last week and the spirit was amazing! over 50 people came to be saved afterward, I JUST LOVE how he always says "please be seated" in the middle of his sermons, in reality no one's gonna sit down with the way that man preaches!! GOD WORKS through him!!! I stood up the entire sermon!

This guy is preaching a bunch of prosperity crap and scratching itching ears all while using the name of the Lord to sell his message. Shame on him. God does not call us to live above our means. In fact we're called to suffer for Christ. Because through our suffering God's grace shines through, we depend on him, and we are made worthy of serving Christ. God doesn't want us all to be millionaires. He wants us to deny ourselves and our idolatrous hearts and serve him with body, soul, and mind.

What is more important about this scripture is that is tells us that if we sin and fall short of God’s glory, that He is faithful and just to figure us of our shortcomings.

Jesus wasn't even written about until about 400 years after he died, by people who didn't even know him. Coupled with the stolen pagan traditions and the fact that Jesus' story coincides with many other important religious figures throughout history and I'd say Jesus wasn't really who he or others claimed he was.

After a year, if your life is a mess and you want to pull things back together, just ask god for forgiveness and start worshipping again. He'll forgive you. Yes, you do disappear poof. You go in the ground and the bugs and bacteria eat away at your corpse until you're nothing. You go into nothingness just as you came from nothingness. It's not so bad, you didn't exist once, you won't even know you don't exist again.

My reason and not my excuse is that there is absolutely no reason to believe. You're granting significance to events that are otherwise commonplace and mundane. When you pray for something and you get it, you were going to get it anyway, and when you pray and it doesn't work out, that's just because it didn't work out. I find it funny that people have to make excuses for god when he doesn't come through on a prayer, but praise him when something goes right.

Maybe that's the case for you, but there have been thousands upon thousands of people who have prayed for a loved one to survive in the hospital and that person died, or didn't make it home alive from the war our countries are currently in, or were beheaded by crazy extreme Islamic arabs, or countless other thousands of prayers that god just didn't feel like answering.

@Malumbrus-first of all you can pray for a person to stay alive but how do you know the person didn't want to leave? the doctors told us my mom was going to die with in the week there is nothing they can do..she prayed to God i shall live and not...that was 2000 this is 2010 and she is still alive..even if she had died it doesn't mean there is no God!

How do you figure? If you pray and the person dies, isn't that an indication that he isn't listening? Or is that the situation where you dismiss his absence, cover your eyes and ears, repeat "Jesus loves me" over and over and make an excuse for him?

You're on the right track with this frame of mind. You're right, there are questions we don't know the answers to and there are things we will never know, like what happens after death. What you DON'T do is fill in those questions with answers that some hippies from ancient times wrote down in a book and call it a day. You inquire, you explore, you investigate, you test and observe and record and have your records reviews by others.

I don't have to know them. I know prayers go unanswered, or else the expression "god works in mysterious ways" wouldn't exist. THAT is an expression we created in order to give god an excuse for not really existing. We just brush it off and pretend like he didn't answer our prayers on purpose, when in reality he simply is just not there to answer them. And sometimes things go our way, and sometimes they don't, but he never has anything to do with it.

And the reason I can say confidently that you simply die and "sleep" for eternity after death is because there is no scientific evidence to suggest otherwise. The notion that there's a magic ghost inside of you and it lives beyond your lifespan is as realistic as the notion that there's a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow and all you have to do to get it is catch the leprechaun that guards it.

he came to Bethel last week and the spirit was amazing! over 50 people came to be saved afterward, I JUST LOVE how he always says "please be seated" in the middle of his sermons, in reality no one's gonna sit down with the way that man preaches!! GOD WORKS through him!!! I stood up the entire sermon!
