Is there a working combination action on this? Don't get me wrong, though; even if there is, I love seeing a performer change stops by hand. Sounds really wonderful!
Nice playing! Enjoyed this very much! And yeah, I can hear the Strony in this very much, and the Seng, as well...not that it was intended, but it's really reminiscent of his jazzy style of playing! Loved it!
If you can ever find it, there's a great version of this tune by Larry McNear, recorded on a demo record for the Magnavox electronic organ back around 1964.
John Seng, eh? I have to listen to his version , I never heard it. Actually I modeled it off of Strony's version to a point. But I'll take Seng, that's a good compliment. As for the cut off, the SD card ran out of memory and it was a mad dash to just get something on record. But thanks for the nice comments.
Great version! Stylistically a little bit reminiscent of the late Johnny Seng (esp @ 1:50). Illustrates very well how cavernous the Lowes Wonder Mortons sound is. A nicely "stout" Porter in this setting. Cuts off too soon!
