  • Oksana Baiul is to Figure Skating as Maria Callas to Opera and Edith Piaf to French Chanson.

    What is common?

They are greatest artists manifesting in different genre.

  • @Ellevius I love the comparison, and it's one I understand. Certain artists who pass are irreplaceable. Lovely comment!

  • I saw a woman cry to this!

  • she has magic others dont

  • Oksana her experience loss so earlier in her life. She is really talent and so artistic. I hope she has found true love in her life to keep her going strong. She deserves to be happy.

  • I think this is from "Celebration of a Life". Tribute to Sergei Grinkov after he passed away. When Sergei died, I think this started the beginning of her troubles. I'm just glad she pulled herself out of it.

  • I saw this a few years ago and I thought this girl is magical. She has the talent to interpret certain emotion on the ice. This particular performance was emotional.

  • oksana is the best

  • AMAZING!!! Thank you Oksana !!!

  • Such grace, feeling and skill. And, yes, she is a sweet soul...and, she made the sign of the cross before skating! She comes from a culture that is passionate and rich.

  • Awesome. For me she is the greatest artist I have ever seen on ice. Elegance, facial expression, musicality simply wonderful. Her arms are from heaven.

  • You definitely can't mention artistic skaters without her name...still one of my all time favorites!

  • @staronella For me, the greatest ever also. There is no one else who moves and expresses the way she did.

  • Just amazing!!! She is a true angel on this Earth..
