That is a really crappy 1/4 mile time. My brothers 04 Mach 1 with less hp will do 13.2 and also dont right back " Yea right 13.2 my ass ". If you dont believe me then check any mach forums or statistics.
@vnms1993 I know man i heard that before, It is possible but you need to really feel your stang and also it has to be a perfect day " no bad weather " the fastest one i have seen with my own eyes was a 13.1, Hope to see a high 12s. Your friend should post a vid of his runs.
My 2008 Bullit, immaculate, with 7,800 miles, Shelby GT wheels, Hurst shifter, BBK throttle body, is on sale this week at Serra Chevrolet in Bartlett, TN, a suburb of Memphis. I know how good this one is and it's awesome. 10 trophies at car shows.
@ADD8oi Sorry Dude, but you are sadly mistaken. Where did you hear that absolutely false quarter mile time. The Shelby GT doesn't even do that nor the Rousch 427..do some research and you'll learn something.
@ADD8oi You're delusional or badly misinformed...you can't tell whoppers like that to someone who spends lots of time at the drag strip and knows how they run. No stock Mustang Bullitt has run faster than a 13.6 tested by any magazine.
@ParisTNDude haha i hit 1 didnt i? .5, run by me on my bone stock 09 bullitt before i began modifying it, they are very zippy cars for their power output
@ADD8oi I would have to see the time slips on that before I believe it. Mustangs and Fast Fords had to mod theirs, take the sway bars off, install a light drive shaft and install slicks before they could do that well....Hmmm, not to call you a liar, but
@ParisTNDude no i understand your disbelief, but hey, ill put up a run of my friends stock 08 one, mainly cause mine has gotten a little more umph now
@ParisTNDude not on hand but i am currently looking through the mess of papers in my shop for them, i will have them up once i find em, if not ill do a few runs with my car and my friends once it heats up better :)
I own a 2008 Bullitt and have to admit I'm very disappointed in the performance. For the same money, buy a used Corvette and find out what performance feels like.
@ParisTNDude ? im disappointed you're disappointed cause i've taken down a couple vettes in my bullitt already, absolutely LOVE my bullitt, and plus no one wants a Government Made car anyway
@nsspartan77 Well, I could have taken down some Vettes in my VW Golf too, like the 82- about 85 throttle body injected engine that ran the quarter in 15.8. You really have some bragging rights on that one...but it wouldn't happen on any C5.
@nsspartan77 Hmmmm...must be a lot of people want a government made car, NSSPARTAN77. Camaros have outsold mustangs for 10 straight months. Camaros have always been faster than Mustangs even in the 60s.
@ParisTNDude your right, they've outsold the stang, but that's cause the maro is pretty new. I PROMISE to you that w the 5.0 coming out in a couple months, the maro will take a back seat for a very long time. the ss is a snail compared to the new 5.0, it's heavier, and more expensive. now if only ford would get rid of this butcher job of a body style that they did on the s197, it'd be the perfect car.
@nsspartan77 I have to admit the 5.0 is a very nice and powerful engine, but it did not outrun the Camaro in the only test I've seen thus far. They both did the quarter in 12.9 seconds and the Mustang was 200 lbs lighter and used 3:73 gears vs 3:42s
@nsspartan77 Also, the Camaro Z28 is due out in just a few weeks and then we'll see who has the bragging rights. So you do agree that the current Camaro puts the Mustang "in the back seat" right? Just wanted to make that clear. 5.0 cost $44K?????
@nsspartan77 Hmmm...the body style was about the only thing I liked about my Mustang...turned heads every where I went. I liked it and won at least 10 trophies at car shows with it. Was embarassed by a stock 5.7 GTO at the strip by 2-3 car lengths.
@ParisTNDude well those GTO's ls1 is NO JOKE, best engine by far, but the car itself was butchered. i love the style of the 05-09 mustangs, thats why i won't get 5.0 till they change the current style. watch the motor trend vid of 2011 ss vs 5.0 on utube, the first drag sucked cause the ss was sleepin, but the second was legit and the 5.0 walked the ss. and the 5.0 is basing at $32K, $44K probably premium package. and ADD8oi is 100% correct, 4.8 to 60 and low 13's for 1/4
@nsspartan77 I still need a reference for any Bullitt running 13.1 in the quarter. I would be willing to bet that ADD8oi can't prove the 13.1 on a pure stock Bullitt. You're right 13s, but none that I could find below a 13.6.... what mine ran.
@nsspartan77 Yep, saw the 5.0 VS the Camaro SS video by Motor Trend, but it was a pre-production model (no telling what Ford did to it) and it had the 3:73 rear end VS the Camaro's 3:42. Let them both run the standard rear gears and I'll bet it's an even run. There's good reason why Mustang owners change to 3:73 gears.
@ParisTNDude sooo much more fun to run 3.73 gears, glad mine came stock, otherwise that would've been my first mod. only thing i hate bout the 3.73 is it kind of takes away from 3rd and 4th gear a little bit, the torque is there, but not like it would be with the 3.31. this is good though to have the competition against dodge, chevy, and ford, otherwise ford would probably still have the 4.6L for the next x amount of years and chevy is always tryin to stay on top, everybody wins w competition
@nsspartan77 My Bullitt was my 7th Mustang. I had a 90 5.0 that I ran regularly at the drag strip and after about $3K in bolt ons, I finally got it to run 13.5s. The only way was upgrading to 3:73s. Yep, with them, the Bullit would be the dog of the century!
@ParisTNDude well it sucks u didn't like the bullitt, i would trade mine in for anything but another mustang. did you buys yours new or used? cause it doesn't sound like we're talkin about the same car
@nsspartan77 My Bullitt was purchased at Jenkins Wynne in Clarksville, TN. My Bullitt was #4132...look on the Mustang Bullitt Owners Club on line and you'll see my registration, or...look at my ParisTNDude post on Youtube!!! We are talking about the same dog of a Ford.
@nsspartan77 I have the original Bullitt wheels and tires for sale with only 3K miles on them as well as the Bullitt shifter and knob, throttlebody and Bullitt exhaust. If interested let me know.
let me tell u, i bought a 2006 mustang gt convertible with the 18 in polished aluminuim bullitt rims with a 235 size tire and they do not hook up well when launching. thats the only thing i dont like about my car. its hard to launch with out loosing trction. a bigger tire like a 265, 275 size tire with a 245, or 255 in the front would be perfect. look the stangs guys.
There is over 100 ways to solve that visit the forums. Suggestions might be: Panhardbar, UCA, LCA, Swaybars, Springs. Depends what you want. The stiffer the ride the better she launches, but the worse the ride.
i just wanna see the 1/4 mile times with the vortech supercharger and better tires, this thing would kill with 500 bhp and better grip, i love mine just the way she is though, mustangs are my favorite =]
I bought my '08 Dark Highland Green from a guy on craigslist a week and a half ago. 900 miles and immaculate in every way. This car is SWEET! No flash, all business! After 19 years of (wonderful) marriage, I have another woman...and MY WIFE APPROVES!!!
i just bought an 05 GT, i know this car is better, i love my car , it's awesome, but i bet the bullit is even better, so anyone who thinks about getting this car, go for it, i hardly see any on the road and it's a very nice car, dont get me wrong, i like my fog lights and spoiler but this car is good
The one I have in mind is an '09 in Highland Green. It was apparently a lease car so it has 1500 miles on it, but it's still in perfect shape. The great thing about it being slightly used is that I can probably talk them down quite a bit : )
I have to agree with the statement below. I have been looking at '09 Mustangs recently (including the Bullitt,) and the build quality is amazing compared to my sisters '00 Mustang. That said, the Bullitt is at the top of my list. Has plenty of goodies for a decent price (especially with dealers offering discounts, etc., ) and I like the fact that it looks cool without being too flashy. No fake hood scoops or out of place spoilers. Just a nice clean-bodied Mustang.
dude i just traded my 02 gt vert for an 08 Bullitt...you have to get one its awesome..my 02 had the basic bolt ons (except I wanted a vortech) N/A and ran good but out of the box my bullitt would stripe its ass I love this car!!!
Yeah.. I would've had one already, but the a**hole that bought my current car though eBay decided not to pay for it. Time to re-list it : ( And you're right about the stock power.. The Bullitt is great out of the box. I hear that the 3v engine responds well to standard bolt ons, so that's a plus as well : )
I just took deliver today its an 08 and had 8 miles on it and i left the dealer with the tires on fire the car handles well and will flat run i love it...mine is black and after tinting the windows its perfect. good luck selling your car man and I hope you get a bullitt because short of anything else they are a fun fun fun car to drive.
230 miles is not bad at all for an american...but id say thats the main difference, i can safely say if you push a honda every day, or an american every day, and i mean PUSH it....honda will come out on top
hahaha...haha...ha...haa.....i Drive my '69 mustang that's getting close to 300 on it...I've taken very great care to make sure it keeps running. My wife just sold her Civic because it clonked out at 190...
lol shit happens, but listen man lol... honda has better build quality its known globally, as for ur situation, ur taking great car of ur mustang, shes not taking care of her civic, cuze if honda dies at less then 250 Km theres a problem, cuze when i say it'll outlast an american car, that doesnt mean u can treat it like shit and expect it to keep goin lol, if u maintain it it'll outlast and american car
she takes very good care of it, and it only lasted that long. theres sumthing wrong, cuze i had a 91 accord, it had 284 km on it, and it ran STRONG, had a tranny problem, but honda is known for the auto tranny problem, other then that the car was good, let alone the fact that all i did was regular maintanance, and i PUSHED the car every single light i got too!
Some cars just run differently and have random problems. There are some factors that you can't really see coming, and those can affect the lifetime of the car.
Well not all american cars. I think that was more true some years ago. Honda is still slightly better the the Gap is so much more closer now. I know plenty of LS1 powered cars pushing over 150K with not as much maintenance as a similar model 20 years ago. Technology has come a long way.
yea like im not gonna lie, american has come along way for sure, and yes has closed the gap between them and the japs, but my main arguement here is that japs have better build quality then the americans...am i lying with that statement?
No i wouldn't say you are lying. You are somewhat correct. If we are talking about engines and engines alone I would say that it may have to do with the style of engine. Being that we know each car manufacturer buys their competitors cars for the purpose of tearing them apart to see how they tick i think if americans went to rotary style motors as a primary platform they would come out the same. Their diesel engines are getting a lot of miles.but thats not their main platform.
yea i must admit when it comes to everything other then engine build quality americans have it, well...when ur introducing a new type of engine its gonna be a while before you can get it to perform well, mazda has had rotary engines every since, and there good at them!...so it may take a while but yea i agree
continued........What I am suggesting is if Japan built push rod style engines would they have the same rating? I haven't checked lately with the consumer reports to see what the current standings are with reliability. We might be going on past reputation you think?
well not push rod, but they do have performance cars such as the Skyline GT-R and the subaru wrx sti, which both put out some power...so i guess its kinda comparable
Well actually i wasn't talking about the horsepower rating but i what i meant was the durability and reliability if they were both producing push rod.
normally i would agree but any care will last along time if you take care of it.. like change oil make sure its running fat and happy and not to lean. etc
Either "THIS" or the Dodge Challenger, decisions decisions. You be the judge. I hope to get my hands on one of these machines. 1st conquest, "BULLITT"!!!
well tha'ts the way it's supposed to look..it's made to look like the old one with no badges nothing kinda like a sleeper car or something like that..you know what i mean
what do you mean you want to learn things from people how can you learn things when your so stubborn and only look at things your way. i could give you reasons why ford makes good cars and trucks but you would just say thats a bunch of bs and i think that ford makes much better looking cars than honda
nope...if u give me vaild facts as to why ford is a good manufacturer...then im learning...but i dont think u can give me any reasons, cuze their shit...dont get me wrong...honda doesnt produce the nicest looking cars...im not interested in that...thats a totally different category..i love how the mustang looks...just not the way its built
i think the car isnt slow for 315hp,and i found it much beutiful than the gt500 kr.does anyone know the engine on that mustang bullit, its price,..?greetings
i'll let you know i have a black bullitt and its no push over edmunds probably had 87 octane in it w/ 91 and the ajustable timing it pulls alot harder and can do 0-60 in like 4.8-4.9 and like the 1/4 in 13.0 13.2 is the best i've seen.
so it has the mustang gt engine a bit tuned.ive seen one to sell, just like the one in the video, seller is asking 35.000€(im spanish and ford doesnt sell them here)how much did yours costed?greets and enjoy your bullit!
frikkin american cars, i hate how u people are gettin mad when people say american cars suck, u cant hide that, its proven, its shown, american cars, especially fords SUCK, mustang...its got the power, but its still not built well, its straight facts
if u dont beat the crap out of it everyday, it will get u to 150,000 miles whit no problems, thats ALOT of years, plus no one wants to drive a corolla or a civic for 200,000 miles, lol thats the truth
okay and u can beat the crap out of a honda everyday, AND last 200, 000 miles...now thats good quality, another thing, i need my luxary so from honda id pick an accord. you want power...NSX, not at much as the mustang, but a few mods here and there, and it can pull up some nice numbers
i can bet you money that if u buy a honda or any other japan made car and push it like a toy ull be fixing oil leaks by 30,000 miles alredy, of that i have do doubt so i still keep my point, plus to let you know u can beat the shit out of F series truck and they goona last just as long as ur honda. F series trucks are made to take beatings and still run just fine after alot of miles, and guess what, they are FORD
F.O.R.D...Found On Road Dead....ford is a shit auto manufacturer, oil leaks at 30 0000 miles, due to pushing it?...u obviously havent owned a honda, k i can find soo many damn points to win this arguement, but its too much for this youtube crap, so lest make it opinion based...my opioin ford sux, and japanese is alot better aright
I already have 71,000 miles on my 06' Mustang GT because of work. I haven't had any problems at all, not one thing has gone wrong with this car. It doesn't even rattle, not even over bumps. I've driven American most of my life & have been fortunate reliability wise. All the new cars are pretty reliable & the Americans are catching up fast. I just took out an 08' Cadillac CTS D.I for a long test drive & I couldn't believe how nice this car was. Not trying to start a war here, to each his own.
yea but do u push ur car?...with any car, if u just drive it regularly, dont abuse it, it could last forever...but im sayin if u were to abuse a car, and always push it, honda would outlast a ford, as for the cadillac, although its american i have nothing against them, there good, nice luxarious car, build quality is good too, but im specifically speaking about the ford
Yeah I hear you, Honda/Acura products can take some serious abuse & keep going. I actually wouldn't mind one as a second car at all. You are right about the pushing of my car part lol. I get on it once in awhile but I work so much I just take it easy for the most part. Anyway, I respect your opinion & that was a good response =) Talk to you later ~Chris
ok then move to japan if u like japanese cars so much ,i personally dont need a mustang that takes me to 250,000 miles ,so fuck that reliability shit, so how far can a ford engine go is tottally irrelevant for me. as to you, enjoy drivin ur civic for 250,000 miles , that sounds like alot of fun, MUSTANG POWER > HONDA anyday
see i hate people like u...americans!...u dont have respect for ur cars...w.e it breaks ill get a new one...thats why u like ford...its good when u first buy it, and have problems as soon as u leave the dealership...people like me, have respect for thier cars...so a long lasting car AKA honda..is a good car for me
im hispanic by the way. and owned a 97 ranger v6 whit 140 000 miles on her, and it was running 100% clean and i have absolutly no doubt that the truck can go 20,000 more miles real easy
o.k thank u, u just proved my point, thats 160,00 miles if u do the math, and compared to a honda which can go 400,00 kms, and if u want miles...thats 250 and i just won this arguement with YOUR point lol
dude listen to ur self, does it really matter if that a civic or a corolla can do 400,000 miles? (wich btw i dont have any knowledge of anycar whit that many miles) i drove that truck for almost 4 years, never had a problem whit it execpt for some front srpings that needed to be replacd , if u were to take a civic to 250 000 miles ull need MANY YEARS like 6 or 7 whit alot of driving. its totally pointless u know? kus here in the USA somewat like 85% of ppl change ther car every 1 to 5 years
dude ill listen to myself, but if u wud please read first before u talk, cuze i do recal i said 400,000 KMS not miles, and i put it in kms cuze im from canada not the states, and dont give me crap about here in the states blah blah blah, were bordering each other, way of living there is not that different from here, so nice try, o.k so what u change ur car every 5 years?...that doesnt change the fact that honda has better build quality
wel u may be rite u know? honda lasts longer than a ford, but at the end it dosent make much difference anyway. just next time dont say that ford sucks, becouse it just dosent, plain and simple, and just for the record, ford is the most reliable brand out of all american ones
thanx for agreeing but ur missing my point, if honda last longer what does that tell u about the comparison of build quality?...which to me makes it crap, and please even if u wanna keep it domestic, just american cars, its probobly one of the worst american manufactures, ur missing, cadillac, and dodge?
dodge is from chrysler and cadillac is from gm , gm is not more reliable than ford, spacialy not latelly, and chrysler is . well the crapiest amrican brand . everyone knoes that . cadillacs are sexy as cars tho, dont get me wrong, my favorite suv is the h3 alpha.
yes cadillac is nice, and everyone knows that FORD is the crapiest brand, but honestly im a stubborn guy, ur never gonna win, and u seem stubborn too lol, so lets just stop, cuze i can keep goin forever lol
c this is where u are wrong, by my starting arguments, i can inturn learn a few things from some1 that mite know his shit, but obviously ur a fucking dumbass, so u came to me swearing, thinjing ur all that, but u dont know jack shit bout what ur talkin about, so now ill ask once again, please tell me why ford doesnt suck? and technically u kinda started it :)
loaiy2 your one of the biggest dumbasses i have ever seen and ford will out do a damn honda in day of the week...the supercharger on my mustang has more damn liters then your whole motor does..that's pityfull..ask any person who has an american car we respect it..90% percent of the people that have a honda or something like that use them for beater cars aka peaces of shit
ur missing my arugment u dumbass, i didnt say honda was faster then the for mustang...stangs have speed and i agree there strong as hell, but when it comes to build quality, a honda will outlast a mustang, any day of the week
hahahahaha!!!! your right.....that car is garbage.....my 2007 civic si will do 69.7mph on the slalom......seriosly......all this guys get wet on burn-outs only.....a 350z with a v6 will pull those numbers and still handle 3 times better than that garbage!!! well said dude.......GARBAGE!!!!!
RoganSF that is what Ford says if you want more power and that is to switch to the higher octane. Either way looks like that Bullitt is a winner on styling and performance.
i like the mustangs better but the camaro will dust the hell out of a gt. I used to have a 05 gt 5 speed and the best i did bone stock with some falken 452 tires was 13.4 1/4 mile and my friend on his stock z28 with slicks run like mid 12s bone stock. but camaros are ugly i like mustangs.
RICK AND SVT
So it's slower and doesn't handle as good as the regular GT. The Std GT (5M) did 5.1 to 60 and ran 13.7 @ 103.6 & pulled 0.87G on the skidpad in one of the magazines I have. I know there are alot of variables... Track Condition, Temp/Humidity, Driver ability ect ect.
If you care about a car extending the length of your penis and speed to compensate your ego..fine nitpick on the mustang and get something to race in nascar..
I like the car because of the look and the feel of it and to drive. not for speed....its all a matter of opinion..
I'm just not a big fan of the Corvette's new race car look...Chevrolet seems to have moved away from the whole "muscle car" idea...that's just why I like the mustang better...the new Camaro seems to have the right look to it...
the stang's solid rear axel is why it does so bad in the slalom and skidpad and its just to heavy too heavy to make good numbers in the 1/4. On public roads it offers decent balence but is too heavy to feal at home in corners. What im trying to say is its a nice car but if you want your $'s worth you should get a Corvette.
How can you give the Skid pad a D grade ? I ask this because the 2008 Subaru Impreza WRX STI is a 0.9 and the stang is not far off. Its a mustang not a GT2.
how the hell do you only mnage a 13.8? i ran 13.8 in my stock 03 GT ..you guys cant drive for shit, the bullitt should be a low 13 second car, but you guys make it looks slow!
Not to critize the Mustang(s)or anything, and I did own one (2001 GT), but it occurs to me that Ford is pretty lucky that the Pontiac GTO didn't sell to well in the U.S.
Because if memory serves, it wasn't a whole lot more than the Mustang GT. Especially when GM was doing their "you pay what we pay" sales drive in 2005. Back then a GTO would go 4 33k + reg/tax
The GTO had a 5.7 V8 and could easily (and cheaply) be tuned to get @ least 30 more HP. Plus it was nicer to drive. (I thought)
I test drove a 2006 GTO and 2007 Mustang GT back to back, and I picked the Mustang. Then I traded it in 6 months later on a 2008 Mustang Bullitt, which is what I wish I bought in the first place. I didn't like the GTO because it rode too low, had a garbage stereo, and the trunk was tiny (not to mention that I knew parts and service would be a PITA). My Bullitt feels, looks, and drives like a quintessential muscle car. It is perfect for me and a blast to drive- I'll keep it forever.
Yea, but you can't really add much to something that already has muscle already...unless you add something big like a turbo...but that just messes everything up because then your engine is always being pushed....
The difference is that with the open air cold air intake it increases the horsepower to 315 on regular fuel. thats 15 over the stock GT. Then if you run premium fuel you can get a horsepower rating at about 320-325. Then with the 3:73 gears in the back its way better than a GT.
ha ha. only changing fuel CANT give 10hp gains you stupid ricer. ha ha, you have to have the motor accept the difference that the higher octane offers to gain those. cant just throw it in their and gain hp... if anything, with just changin fuel it would probly run worse. you have to change things to accompany the higher octane. but either way. i love modded cars. so i dont hate mustangs, im just saying.
Dude dont be calling me a stupid ricer you dont even know what i drive. I have a 2008 mustang Shelby GT500 and a 2003 Ford lightning both can smoke the shit out of whatever you got so shut ur mouth.
Pay very close attention to this, I'm only going to type it once. Most cars today have knock sensors. When you add a higher octane fuel, they can sense it and the car knows to advance the timing. This is why on some cars, power can be increased by adding premium fuel. In fact, a lot of cars that call for premium work in the opposite way, when you use 87 octane, the spark gets retarded by a few degrees and the car loses power, but the engine runs fine.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Your a joke, Yank. European cars will always remind you how inadequate your cars are. A pathetic attempt to be called a sports car. American cars are fast only on the straights but are prehistoric in handling. Again PATHETIC!
think again... don't believe everything u see on Top Gear bloke.
true the live axle is old but do u watch AI/AIX series? a live axle can be fitted for less money and weight to smoke an IRS car.
in any case, u may want to explain how we are still finishing near the top in every aspect of racing.... if our cars are at such a disadvantage, then u boys need to up ur driving skills....
So that means the 2010 Mustang has a solid rear axle? Fucking rights, it's about damn time, now the Mustang won't be beat by fucking ricers on skid pads.
it's a 3 link set up with a panhard bar. a lot better setup than the fox platform (4 link with quad shocks) that let's the rear end move side to side.
for those of you who put thumbs down on this, u guys are fuckin idiots...if u think ur american cars are better than european u dont know jack SHIT about cars...
That is a good point. The styling was pretty bland for the US market. I actually liked it though. When you have more than 300hp, a bland car is actually good: if it doesn't stand out, maybe John-Q-Law won't notice you speeding.
Thats Kool, Glad to see that you're good, oh and your welcome, well I've been better, thanks for asking, just tryin my best all by myself here in the Bay Area, Well hope you stay Kool, till next time, later.
If you guys ever want better drivers just message me on here

That is a really crappy 1/4 mile time. My brothers 04 Mach 1 with less hp will do 13.2 and also dont right back " Yea right 13.2 my ass ". If you dont believe me then check any mach forums or statistics.
Specialized1993 1 year ago
@Specialized1993 actually driving the shit out of a bone stock mach 1 you can pull off a 12.90 like my buddy did.

When are the test drivers going to learn that wheel spin equals poor ETs.

the 2011 v6 has almost identical times! Ford has really stepped up the performance of the Mustang!

10 trophies at car shows.

inside line is so very terribly biased against ford its not even funny, the bullitt does 4.8 to 60 with a 13.1 1/4 mile
ADD8oi 1 year ago
@ADD8oi Sorry Dude, but you are sadly mistaken. Where did you hear that absolutely false quarter mile time. The Shelby GT doesn't even do that nor the Rousch 427..do some research and you'll learn something.
ParisTNDude 1 year ago
I liked my Mustang Bullitt but it was just too slow...bought a new SS Camaro and what a difference!
ParisTNDude 1 year ago
@ParisTNDude funny considering how much faster than the camaro the bullitt really is though
ADD8oi 1 year ago
@ADD8oi You're delusional or badly misinformed...you can't tell whoppers like that to someone who spends lots of time at the drag strip and knows how they run. No stock Mustang Bullitt has run faster than a 13.6 tested by any magazine.
ParisTNDude 1 year ago
@ParisTNDude haha i hit 1 didnt i? .5, run by me on my bone stock 09 bullitt before i began modifying it, they are very zippy cars for their power output
ADD8oi 1 year ago
@ADD8oi I would have to see the time slips on that before I believe it. Mustangs and Fast Fords had to mod theirs, take the sway bars off, install a light drive shaft and install slicks before they could do that well....Hmmm, not to call you a liar, but

i just bought one...the mustang bullitt is a badass motherfucker...more fun to drive than my c4 corvette.
dumbamerica 2 years ago 10
I own a 2008 Bullitt and have to admit I'm very disappointed in the performance. For the same money, buy a used Corvette and find out what performance feels like.
ParisTNDude 2 years ago
@ParisTNDude ? im disappointed you're disappointed cause i've taken down a couple vettes in my bullitt already, absolutely LOVE my bullitt, and plus no one wants a Government Made car anyway
nsspartan77 1 year ago
@nsspartan77 Well, I could have taken down some Vettes in my VW Golf too, like the 82- about 85 throttle body injected engine that ran the quarter in 15.8. You really have some bragging rights on that one...but it wouldn't happen on any C5.
ParisTNDude 1 year ago
@nsspartan77 Hmmmm...must be a lot of people want a government made car, NSSPARTAN77. Camaros have outsold mustangs for 10 straight months. Camaros have always been faster than Mustangs even in the 60s.
ParisTNDude 1 year ago
@ParisTNDude your right, they've outsold the stang, but that's cause the maro is pretty new. I PROMISE to you that w the 5.0 coming out in a couple months, the maro will take a back seat for a very long time. the ss is a snail compared to the new 5.0, it's heavier, and more expensive. now if only ford would get rid of this butcher job of a body style that they did on the s197, it'd be the perfect car.
nsspartan77 1 year ago
@nsspartan77 I have to admit the 5.0 is a very nice and powerful engine, but it did not outrun the Camaro in the only test I've seen thus far. They both did the quarter in 12.9 seconds and the Mustang was 200 lbs lighter and used 3:73 gears vs 3:42s
ParisTNDude 1 year ago
@nsspartan77 Also, the Camaro Z28 is due out in just a few weeks and then we'll see who has the bragging rights. So you do agree that the current Camaro puts the Mustang "in the back seat" right? Just wanted to make that clear. 5.0 cost $44K?????
ParisTNDude 1 year ago
@nsspartan77 Hmmm...the body style was about the only thing I liked about my Mustang...turned heads every where I went. I liked it and won at least 10 trophies at car shows with it. Was embarassed by a stock 5.7 GTO at the strip by 2-3 car lengths.
ParisTNDude 1 year ago
@ParisTNDude well those GTO's ls1 is NO JOKE, best engine by far, but the car itself was butchered. i love the style of the 05-09 mustangs, thats why i won't get 5.0 till they change the current style. watch the motor trend vid of 2011 ss vs 5.0 on utube, the first drag sucked cause the ss was sleepin, but the second was legit and the 5.0 walked the ss. and the 5.0 is basing at $32K, $44K probably premium package. and ADD8oi is 100% correct, 4.8 to 60 and low 13's for 1/4
nsspartan77 1 year ago
@nsspartan77 I still need a reference for any Bullitt running 13.1 in the quarter. I would be willing to bet that ADD8oi can't prove the 13.1 on a pure stock Bullitt. You're right 13s, but none that I could find below a 13.6.... what mine ran.
ParisTNDude 1 year ago
@nsspartan77 Yep, saw the 5.0 VS the Camaro SS video by Motor Trend, but it was a pre-production model (no telling what Ford did to it) and it had the 3:73 rear end VS the Camaro's 3:42. Let them both run the standard rear gears and I'll bet it's an even run. There's good reason why Mustang owners change to 3:73 gears.
ParisTNDude 1 year ago
@ParisTNDude sooo much more fun to run 3.73 gears, glad mine came stock, otherwise that would've been my first mod. only thing i hate bout the 3.73 is it kind of takes away from 3rd and 4th gear a little bit, the torque is there, but not like it would be with the 3.31. this is good though to have the competition against dodge, chevy, and ford, otherwise ford would probably still have the 4.6L for the next x amount of years and chevy is always tryin to stay on top, everybody wins w competition
nsspartan77 1 year ago
@nsspartan77 My Bullitt was my 7th Mustang. I had a 90 5.0 that I ran regularly at the drag strip and after about $3K in bolt ons, I finally got it to run 13.5s. The only way was upgrading to 3:73s. Yep, with them, the Bullit would be the dog of the century!
ParisTNDude 1 year ago
@ParisTNDude well it sucks u didn't like the bullitt, i would trade mine in for anything but another mustang. did you buys yours new or used? cause it doesn't sound like we're talkin about the same car
nsspartan77 1 year ago
@nsspartan77 My Bullitt was purchased at Jenkins Wynne in Clarksville, TN. My Bullitt was #4132...look on the Mustang Bullitt Owners Club on line and you'll see my registration, or...look at my ParisTNDude post on Youtube!!! We are talking about the same dog of a Ford.

let me tell u, i bought a 2006 mustang gt convertible with the 18 in polished aluminuim bullitt rims with a 235 size tire and they do not hook up well when launching. thats the only thing i dont like about my car. its hard to launch with out loosing trction. a bigger tire like a 265, 275 size tire with a 245, or 255 in the front would be perfect. look the stangs guys.

There is over 100 ways to solve that visit the forums. Suggestions might be: Panhardbar, UCA, LCA, Swaybars, Springs. Depends what you want. The stiffer the ride the better she launches, but the worse the ride.

pkidro 2 years ago

Just a nice clean-bodied Mustang.
crazyfvck 2 years ago 4
dude i just traded my 02 gt vert for an 08 Bullitt...you have to get one its awesome..my 02 had the basic bolt ons (except I wanted a vortech) N/A and ran good but out of the box my bullitt would stripe its ass I love this car!!!
dalemllns 2 years ago
Yeah.. I would've had one already, but the a**hole that bought my current car though eBay decided not to pay for it. Time to re-list it : ( And you're right about the stock power.. The Bullitt is great out of the box. I hear that the 3v engine responds well to standard bolt ons, so that's a plus as well : )
crazyfvck 2 years ago
I just took deliver today its an 08 and had 8 miles on it and i left the dealer with the tires on fire the car handles well and will flat run i love it...mine is black and after tinting the windows its perfect. good luck selling your car man and I hope you get a bullitt because short of anything else they are a fun fun fun car to drive.

@mitch9521 Agree, probably the best looking American car being built today.
ParisTNDude 1 year ago
230 miles is not bad at all for an american...but id say thats the main difference, i can safely say if you push a honda every day, or an american every day, and i mean PUSH it....honda will come out on top
loaiy2 2 years ago
hahaha...haha...ha...haa.....i Drive my '69 mustang that's getting close to 300 on it...I've taken very great care to make sure it keeps running. My wife just sold her Civic because it clonked out at 190...
iwasadeum 2 years ago
lol shit happens, but listen man lol... honda has better build quality its known globally, as for ur situation, ur taking great car of ur mustang, shes not taking care of her civic, cuze if honda dies at less then 250 Km theres a problem, cuze when i say it'll outlast an american car, that doesnt mean u can treat it like shit and expect it to keep goin lol, if u maintain it it'll outlast and american car
loaiy2 2 years ago
She takes very good care of it..regular visits and tune-ups..
iwasadeum 2 years ago
she takes very good care of it, and it only lasted that long. theres sumthing wrong, cuze i had a 91 accord, it had 284 km on it, and it ran STRONG, had a tranny problem, but honda is known for the auto tranny problem, other then that the car was good, let alone the fact that all i did was regular maintanance, and i PUSHED the car every single light i got too!
loaiy2 2 years ago
Some cars just run differently and have random problems. There are some factors that you can't really see coming, and those can affect the lifetime of the car.
batstewart 2 years ago
nice way to sum it all up
loaiy2 2 years ago
Well not all american cars. I think that was more true some years ago. Honda is still slightly better the the Gap is so much more closer now. I know plenty of LS1 powered cars pushing over 150K with not as much maintenance as a similar model 20 years ago. Technology has come a long way.
TheRealDreadsen 2 years ago
yea like im not gonna lie, american has come along way for sure, and yes has closed the gap between them and the japs, but my main arguement here is that japs have better build quality then the americans...am i lying with that statement?
loaiy2 2 years ago
No i wouldn't say you are lying. You are somewhat correct. If we are talking about engines and engines alone I would say that it may have to do with the style of engine. Being that we know each car manufacturer buys their competitors cars for the purpose of tearing them apart to see how they tick i think if americans went to rotary style motors as a primary platform they would come out the same. Their diesel engines are getting a lot of miles.but thats not their main platform.
TheRealDreadsen 2 years ago
yea i must admit when it comes to everything other then engine build quality americans have it, well...when ur introducing a new type of engine its gonna be a while before you can get it to perform well, mazda has had rotary engines every since, and there good at them!...so it may take a while but yea i agree
loaiy2 2 years ago
continued........What I am suggesting is if Japan built push rod style engines would they have the same rating? I haven't checked lately with the consumer reports to see what the current standings are with reliability. We might be going on past reputation you think?
TheRealDreadsen 2 years ago
well not push rod, but they do have performance cars such as the Skyline GT-R and the subaru wrx sti, which both put out some power...so i guess its kinda comparable
loaiy2 2 years ago
Well actually i wasn't talking about the horsepower rating but i what i meant was the durability and reliability if they were both producing push rod.
TheRealDreadsen 2 years ago
yea thats tru, i guess we'll never know cuze none of the japs are into that
loaiy2 2 years ago
normally i would agree but any care will last along time if you take care of it.. like change oil make sure its running fat and happy and not to lean. etc

WesMack351 3 years ago
nope...if u give me vaild facts as to why ford is a good manufacturer...then im learning...but i dont think u can give me any reasons, cuze their shit...dont get me wrong...honda doesnt produce the nicest looking cars...im not interested in that...thats a totally different category..i love how the mustang looks...just not the way its built

i'll let you know i have a black bullitt and its no push over edmunds probably had 87 octane in it w/ 91 and the ajustable timing it pulls alot harder and can do 0-60 in like 4.8-4.9 and like the 1/4 in 13.0 13.2 is the best i've seen.

loaiy2 3 years ago
if u dont beat the crap out of it everyday, it will get u to 150,000 miles whit no problems, thats ALOT of years, plus no one wants to drive a corolla or a civic for 200,000 miles, lol thats the truth
TheAntiricerAKAhp 3 years ago
okay and u can beat the crap out of a honda everyday, AND last 200, 000 miles...now thats good quality, another thing, i need my luxary so from honda id pick an accord. you want power...NSX, not at much as the mustang, but a few mods here and there, and it can pull up some nice numbers
loaiy2 3 years ago
i can bet you money that if u buy a honda or any other japan made car and push it like a toy ull be fixing oil leaks by 30,000 miles alredy, of that i have do doubt so i still keep my point, plus to let you know u can beat the shit out of F series truck and they goona last just as long as ur honda. F series trucks are made to take beatings and still run just fine after alot of miles, and guess what, they are FORD
TheAntiricerAKAhp 3 years ago
F.O.R.D...Found On Road Dead....ford is a shit auto manufacturer, oil leaks at 30 0000 miles, due to pushing it?...u obviously havent owned a honda, k i can find soo many damn points to win this arguement, but its too much for this youtube crap, so lest make it opinion based...my opioin ford sux, and japanese is alot better aright
loaiy2 3 years ago
I already have 71,000 miles on my 06' Mustang GT because of work. I haven't had any problems at all, not one thing has gone wrong with this car. It doesn't even rattle, not even over bumps. I've driven American most of my life & have been fortunate reliability wise. All the new cars are pretty reliable & the Americans are catching up fast. I just took out an 08' Cadillac CTS D.I for a long test drive & I couldn't believe how nice this car was. Not trying to start a war here, to each his own.
IrishChris1979 3 years ago
yea but do u push ur car?...with any car, if u just drive it regularly, dont abuse it, it could last forever...but im sayin if u were to abuse a car, and always push it, honda would outlast a ford, as for the cadillac, although its american i have nothing against them, there good, nice luxarious car, build quality is good too, but im specifically speaking about the ford
loaiy2 3 years ago
Yeah I hear you, Honda/Acura products can take some serious abuse & keep going. I actually wouldn't mind one as a second car at all. You are right about the pushing of my car part lol. I get on it once in awhile but I work so much I just take it easy for the most part. Anyway, I respect your opinion & that was a good response =) Talk to you later ~Chris

IrishChris1979 3 years ago
ok then move to japan if u like japanese cars so much ,i personally dont need a mustang that takes me to 250,000 miles ,so fuck that reliability shit, so how far can a ford engine go is tottally irrelevant for me. as to you, enjoy drivin ur civic for 250,000 miles , that sounds like alot of fun, MUSTANG POWER > HONDA anyday
TheAntiricerAKAhp 3 years ago
see i hate people like u...americans!...u dont have respect for ur cars...w.e it breaks ill get a new one...thats why u like ford...its good when u first buy it, and have problems as soon as u leave the dealership...people like me, have respect for thier cars...so a long lasting car AKA honda..is a good car for me
loaiy2 3 years ago
im hispanic by the way. and owned a 97 ranger v6 whit 140 000 miles on her, and it was running 100% clean and i have absolutly no doubt that the truck can go 20,000 more miles real easy
TheAntiricerAKAhp 3 years ago
o.k thank u, u just proved my point, thats 160,00 miles if u do the math, and compared to a honda which can go 400,00 kms, and if u want miles...thats 250 and i just won this arguement with YOUR point lol
loaiy2 3 years ago
dude listen to ur self, does it really matter if that a civic or a corolla can do 400,000 miles? (wich btw i dont have any knowledge of anycar whit that many miles) i drove that truck for almost 4 years, never had a problem whit it execpt for some front srpings that needed to be replacd , if u were to take a civic to 250 000 miles ull need MANY YEARS like 6 or 7 whit alot of driving. its totally pointless u know? kus here in the USA somewat like 85% of ppl change ther car every 1 to 5 years
TheAntiricerAKAhp 3 years ago
dude ill listen to myself, but if u wud please read first before u talk, cuze i do recal i said 400,000 KMS not miles, and i put it in kms cuze im from canada not the states, and dont give me crap about here in the states blah blah blah, were bordering each other, way of living there is not that different from here, so nice try, o.k so what u change ur car every 5 years?...that doesnt change the fact that honda has better build quality
loaiy2 3 years ago
wel u may be rite u know? honda lasts longer than a ford, but at the end it dosent make much difference anyway. just next time dont say that ford sucks, becouse it just dosent, plain and simple, and just for the record, ford is the most reliable brand out of all american ones
TheAntiricerAKAhp 3 years ago
thanx for agreeing but ur missing my point, if honda last longer what does that tell u about the comparison of build quality?...which to me makes it crap, and please even if u wanna keep it domestic, just american cars, its probobly one of the worst american manufactures, ur missing, cadillac, and dodge?

I'm just not a big fan of the Corvette's new race car look...Chevrolet seems to have moved away from the whole "muscle car" idea...that's just why I like the mustang better...the new Camaro seems to have the right look to it...

the stang's solid rear axel is why it does so bad in the slalom and skidpad and its just to heavy too heavy to make good numbers in the 1/4. On public roads it offers decent balence but is too heavy to feal at home in corners. What im trying to say is its a nice car but if you want your $'s worth you should get a Corvette.
Just my 2cents =)

If you ask me I go for the looks...not money's worth...^_^

thats cool and i respect that but i personaly dont like the new mustangs look lol =P
its basicaly a brick on wheals
Pigioto1 3 years ago
How can you give the Skid pad a D grade ? I ask this because the 2008 Subaru Impreza WRX STI is a 0.9 and the stang is not far off. Its a mustang not a GT2.
o-60=B
1/4 mile=B
Slalom=C
Skidpad=B

and we don't drive corvettes because I'm not 60.

how the hell do you only mnage a 13.8? i ran 13.8 in my stock 03 GT ..you guys cant drive for shit, the bullitt should be a low 13 second car, but you guys make it looks slow!

It is perfect for me and a blast to drive- I'll keep it forever.

what is the diffence between a GT and a Bullitt?
issint it just a air intake and about 10 extra HP making it 310-315?
yeah the GTO looks and feels hugy..nice engine though
cant wait for the camaro..
crazyloc187123 3 years ago
Yea, but you can't really add much to something that already has muscle already...unless you add something big like a turbo...but that just messes everything up because then your engine is always being pushed....
FlyingVurtical 3 years ago
The difference is that with the open air cold air intake it increases the horsepower to 315 on regular fuel. thats 15 over the stock GT. Then if you run premium fuel you can get a horsepower rating at about 320-325. Then with the 3:73 gears in the back its way better than a GT.
theshark2517 3 years ago
ha ha. only changing fuel CANT give 10hp gains you stupid ricer. ha ha, you have to have the motor accept the difference that the higher octane offers to gain those. cant just throw it in their and gain hp... if anything, with just changin fuel it would probly run worse. you have to change things to accompany the higher octane. but either way. i love modded cars. so i dont hate mustangs, im just saying.
RoganSF 3 years ago
Dude dont be calling me a stupid ricer you dont even know what i drive. I have a 2008 mustang Shelby GT500 and a 2003 Ford lightning both can smoke the shit out of whatever you got so shut ur mouth.
theshark2517 3 years ago
Pay very close attention to this, I'm only going to type it once. Most cars today have knock sensors. When you add a higher octane fuel, they can sense it and the car knows to advance the timing. This is why on some cars, power can be increased by adding premium fuel. In fact, a lot of cars that call for premium work in the opposite way, when you use 87 octane, the spark gets retarded by a few degrees and the car loses power, but the engine runs fine.

Your a joke, Yank. European cars will always remind you how inadequate your cars are. A pathetic attempt to be called a sports car. American cars are fast only on the straights but are prehistoric in handling. Again PATHETIC!
feddysnatcher 3 years ago
think again... don't believe everything u see on Top Gear bloke.
true the live axle is old but do u watch AI/AIX series? a live axle can be fitted for less money and weight to smoke an IRS car.
in any case, u may want to explain how we are still finishing near the top in every aspect of racing.... if our cars are at such a disadvantage, then u boys need to up ur driving skills....
nawtee50boi 3 years ago
Yeah, but does this thing still have the live rear axle?
quuaa1 3 years ago
solid rear axle
nawtee50boi 3 years ago
So that means the 2010 Mustang has a solid rear axle? Fucking rights, it's about damn time, now the Mustang won't be beat by fucking ricers on skid pads.
quuaa1 3 years ago
it's a 3 link set up with a panhard bar. a lot better setup than the fox platform (4 link with quad shocks) that let's the rear end move side to side.
nawtee50boi 3 years ago
for those of you who put thumbs down on this, u guys are fuckin idiots...if u think ur american cars are better than european u dont know jack SHIT about cars...

I think the GTO was ugly as most people thought. It just didnt stand out from any other Pontiac other than the motor.
jeffsond 3 years ago
That is a good point. The styling was pretty bland for the US market. I actually liked it though. When you have more than 300hp, a bland car is actually good: if it doesn't stand out, maybe John-Q-Law won't notice you speeding.
cs925 3 years ago
No, it's a 5 speed.
