Magic is the best player ever because he doesnt need good players on his team he'll just give them wide open lay-ups. Also, noone mentions his scoring ability, he avareged about 20 ppg in his career. There is no way that anyone is better than him.
Just think about. How many Michael Jordan scoring guard clones are in the NBA?? Kobe, D. Wade, Lebron, etc, etc, etc...yawn.
Now, how many Magic Johnson clones?.... none!
Plus, Jodan's style helped to ruin the team aspect of the NBA. Kids ran to the play ground wanting to play 1 against 5, score, dunk, and never pass the ball.
When kids wanted to be like Magic, they played the total team game, hit a teammate with a beautiful pass. Magic was the greatest player ever!!!

@TMacBoy3 tru , but remember he was playing in a time where he was one a very very few 7' footers . soo it was alot easier to score and rebound for him , AND that same season he played on average 49.2 min per game , which i don't even see is possible just like the 50.4 points and the 27.7 boards , but hey he did . and the reason they don't put him in the talk of the greatest is becuz he didn't score in a mouth dropping way , he just scored over 6'10 guys like it was nothing .

Basketball was not nearly as popular as it is today.
The competition in those days was a joke, that's how the Celtics managed to win 11 titles during that era.
