  • Too much sounds of crying baby. I snapped my dvd of this movie because of the baby crying for like the last 25 minutes of the movie

  • Yes it ai a brilliant film with some amazing camera work. Its a solid film but the Oscars are about politics and it is rare an outsider wins, it happens but not often.

  • this and Pan's labyrinth were the best of '06

  • If this film was out now, it would sweep the oscars. Movies are shit now.

  • Some have said that this film is about the despair of late-capitalism.

I think it’s about despair caused by naïve immigration policies and failed multi-culturalism leading to Balkanised society.

Pretty much like modern Britain really.

It’s a much better film than 28 days later to which I often mentally compare it.

Strangely, this Mexican director clearly has some pretty conservative views on immigration.

  • @CharlesDickens99 This british poster is one of those BNP cunts that dislikes muslims and indians and all other brown people. The way I a mexican youtube user thinks is you fucking cunts deserve it enjoy being raped like you cunts raped all of the world. We caught up with you now so fuck right off you stupid limey fuck.

  • @CINTERPOL No, I am not a member of the BNP.

By the way, do you have to use so many cuss-words?

Incidentally, I am a son of immigrants and have always disliked racism.

  • This is my favorite movie of all time , and every time i see it again, it's even more good, This a masterpiece of art, like the guernika that apears in one scene.

  • I worked as a projectionist when this movie came out and am happy that I got to see this movie multiple times on the big screen. No movie since 2006 has touched my heart or my mind the way "children of men" has.

  • [Note: "We" = the Regular People. *NOT* our corrupt: leaders, corporations, laws.] This movie gives you a very good idea of how bad the entire world (USA too) will quickly become, if "WE" do not abolish all forms of money & unite. Also shows that mere preparation for "survival" (storing food, water, etc.) is NOT enough! Also shows, hiding out in "forests" may not work as expected. "We" must intentively restart from scratch, withOUT money & withOUT our current leaders. ...Hard to accept and do.

  • @Viokehd I hate to tall ya but that is how the world functions, industry, business, and both social and technological advancement are created through competition, competition comes from companies, companies are created to provide citizens with products in exchange for compensation. The world runs by mutual exchange and since mankind has greedy and self-interest buried deep within its roots it will not stop, all you will succeed in doing is killing humanity which relies on the exchange of currenc

  • i have no idea why , but i just hated that movie....

  • @jambalulu I think I have an idea why - you don't appreciate good filmmaking.

  • forget best picture nominations. How the fucking balls did this movie not win best cinematography? 8 minute single shots of action sequences? Fuck you, Pan's Labyrinth, you pretentious pile of surrealist dago drivle!

(I have not actually seen Pan's Labyrinth. I am sure it was good. everyone says so. but if it has better camera work than this masterpiece i will eat my hat!)

  • @gunterdak LOL, yeah. Pan's Labyrinth was absolutely fantastic, but the camerawork in Children of Men was better by a long shot. (pun unintended)

  • @gunterdak well while i really loved CoM Pan's cinematograohy was pretty fantastic

  • best part of the movie is when everyonoe stops fighting it shows taht we united even if it was only for a few minutes

  • movie is brilliant, I love how the protag Theo, is always unarmed and peaceful, I love how animals are drawn to him and I also love how through the film it shows this gritty world but you see how everyone is dealing and trying to make themselves happy. Don't get me started on the long takes and how natural it flowed and the cinematic brilliance!!! I honestly am not surprised that the film didn't make a lot of money, people cant grasp the boundless hope and positivity that survives through it.

  • @ccctripodccc i agree with everything you sayd, this movie was near genius and highly underrated... and the single shot action scenes with flawless set trasitions and editing are possibly the best i have ever seen

  • that should've been the trailer.

  • One of the most underrated films of the last decade.

  • best cinematography since saving private ryan

  • @Satschinga

    Especially the action scenes

  • jaspers my idol

  • Incredible film and fantastic YouTube video. Thanks.

  • one of the if not THE best movie

  • What is a good scene from Children of Men that is at least 5 minutes(give or take 15 seconds)?

  • @babyleo4eve The battle scene near the end is quite long and an absolute spectacle. Theo dashes through a city in turmoil and the camera follows him, never cutting, for the whole time It's a masterpiece in production design, cinematography, organisation and acting.

  • @anarchotrent

That shot is actually 3 shots put together.

  • @Jammed9000 none the less, have you seen the new james bond movies action scenes, there is 3 different camera shots in under a second

  • @101andrewj

Casino Royale was great but Quantum of Solace was absolutely terrible.

  • I just read the Empires top 500 films of all time, they have fucking Avatar, but no Children of Men?!

  • @Huskeyyyyy i know crazy

  • @Huskeyyyyy

I love Avatar. AND Children of Men. Is there a problem?

  • by far and away one of the best movies in the last twenty years....

fantastic cast (bloody hell Caine has found some good roles lately), clever plot and stark imagery.

theres nothing wrong with this film.... tho yet again the Hollywood turd factory has chosen to ignore clever cinema and given this very little publicity...

still with this and more recently Inception it appears someone in the factory has woken up and realised we're not all retarded McNugget eaters...

  • this movie is definitely in my top 10. hell, it's in my top 5! such an amazing movie

  • Movie of the year? Fuck that, it's the movie of the decade.

  • @TheBackOfTheBoat Movie of the decade? Fuck that, it's the best movie of all time....Err If we exclude 2001: A Space Odyssey...

  • Good song, great movie. Whats the song?

  • @oddiemonsta

Running the World, by Jarvis Cocker

  • I just watched this film for the umpteenth time since I have it recorded. It was buried by the distributor deliberately because it showed what is exactly being done to all of us by the "cunts" who are still running the world. Although never mentioned because it is politically incorrect to name the men who run the central banks and rule the planet and who are poisoning everyone DELIBERATELY, these men are not eskimos. They are The International Jew, read Henry Ford's expose'. We are on the brink.

  • @angstotheclown Er...no. I'm Jewish and I love this film (and this song. And this video)

    Oh...and also, you're a cunt.

  • @angstotheclown Are you a fucking idiot??? Have you woken up from your slumber in the last decade? No of course not, it's the jews fault right, those fucking jewish bankers are at fault? RIGHT?? Not that the USA owes 900 billion dollars to China and 800 billion dollars to Japan, right?? 40% of us debt to those two countries. Must be all those Chinese and Japanese jews???

    Retard

  • This movie defines Dystopia.

That steady-cam shot in the beginning with the coffee house bombing and near the end with Kee in the Wheelchair are some of the most powerful moments in the film.

  • WHITE MANKIND ALREDY BEGUN TO USE ARTIFICIAL WAYS TO GET CHILDREN TELL ME WHY?? When the planet will be definively ill it will happen.

Film to be alway on the screen

  • I think the title refers not just to literal children, but to societies, and all things that are produced out of mankind's efforts.

  • This movie STUNNED me. It remains in my top 5 movies of all time on so many levels.

  • "why children of men should win best movie"

  • this is my most favourite movie of all times

  • shit floats. Well said Jarvis

  • I've made a (great) music video with clips from this movie. Please rate it and watch it :)

  • Another reason: Michael Caine's character in this film. Don't we all wish we had a relative like Jasper haha.

  • This movie is almost better underrated. Appreciating this movie should be a privilege extended to those who seek it.

  • @pnoozi That is so true. Nice way to look at it.

  • Liberal bullshit, the whole movie.

Anyone who denies this is a tool and a sheep.

  • With idiots like KohrsFM saying

"screw teh haters they love gay movies like "the final destination'"

It's not that hard to imagine them as sheep shit.

  • @PrankerDemon

omg I cam back and there is a reply, well sir I'm not sure where you disagree, I'm normally a troll on the internet so I can suddenly say to you THAT YOU ARE A WORTHLESS PILE OF CRAP ok?

    Thank you, bye.

  • Ok then. Enjoy living in mom's basement, internet troll.

  • @mrbucket1337 said the sheep.

  • @mrbucket1337

What is your problem lol you are an idiot, show me 1 thing "liberal" or "left wing" in this movie idiot.

  • @mrbucket1337 "Tool & a sheep" for NOT following the new$ like sheep (something the movie shows). mrbucket1337, maybe you should re-think your statement.

  • Is this Javis Cocker singing? Can anyone confirm?

  • @peopleintrees Yes, it is.

  • SPOILER

one of the best movies of all time.

and has one of the best deaths in it."pull my finger"

  • @jessebrade that's barely a spoiler. everytime i see that part i think

    Famous Last Words.

  • This is easily the best film of the last decade!

  • Top 5 Favorite Movies EVER for me.

  • has the best action sequences I've ever seen, and it's not an action movie

action is a million times more effective when it's used sparingly. Movies that are full of explosions and gunfights are incredibly boring

  • My favorite movie. I feel as though it was underrated.

  • it won the peoples oscar

  • Outstanding Picture of the Decade.

  • Otra Cosa de La Biblia es Que va a Llover Sin Parar y Nos Vamos a Ahogar Como Los Apostoles Sabian Esto Que Misterio Hay En Todos Esto

  • Quien Escribio La Biblia Los Apostoles o Los Profetas

  • Los Apostoles Los Que Escribieron La Biblia Como Ellos Sabian Que Va a Haber una Enfermedad Que va a Acabar Con La humanidad

  • This Name Will Impact The Addience Apocalipsis Its Written In The Bible That There Will Be Multiple Wars and Its True Around The World Its Heaven o This This Is Hell The Wars, The every day theres a Lot of Violence Arond the World The Poverty, They Put Booms on Plains, On Buildinds Why They Do It theres going to be a sickness in the World and How They New In The Bible all this thigns Sickness Who Wrote The Bible The Apostoles or The Profets

  • If I EVER need to explain how awesome Children of Men is to someone who hasn't even heard of it, I tell them to watch this video until they are convinced that they want to see it. They usually stop the video after ~30 seconds and ask if I own it on DVD. I do :)

  • wonderful video

  • blairerickson Rocks !!!

  • I am in love with this video! Absolutely amazing movie.

  • I can say with conviction that this film is one of the best ive ever seen

and ive see a fuckload of movies

  • Just such a brilliant movie. It didn't get nearly the recognition or awards it deserved. A damn shame.

  • This is such a brilliant movie. I cried when everyone stopped fighting for those few minutes while the baby cried. It was so powerful, it was unbelievable.

  • @Jezebel71185 So did I man, I love this movie

  • @Jezebel71185 damn right, for me it was the gratest time in the cinema i have ever had.

  • @Jezebel71185 Yep, so did I. My wife and I had just had our first son shortly before seeing this movie, and it really hit both of us hard. Tough, depressing -- but there IS a light: we have to work damn hard to find it, fan it and nurture it. Free the people. Bless.

  • never could come to a conclusion of my "favorite movie ever" until i saw this. I think it was more because i didnt know what it was about before i watched it, i just knew "infertility in the year 202x" watching it was just like, wow.

  • @Cartman1311 Very yes

  • Just thinking about this movie gives me goosebumps. Watching this trailer almost make me tear up. This is a god damn brilliant film on all levels.

  • youre trying to gain wider notice from a mainstream public by using "Cunts are still running the world"? not the best song choice there, bud. some (read: ALOT) of people find that word offensive. I like Jarvis as much as the next guy, but next time if you're trying to reach a lot of people try a tamer song, eh?

  • The music was used in the credits.

  • The camerawork, by Emmanuel Lubezki, is remarkable... great film...watch this movie in fullscreen with high quality at

    EasyMediaClick (dot) com

  • Best film of the first decade of the 21st Century. Also one of the BEST endings in a film in 20 years.

  • Amazing film, yet so depressing. :( I still love it though.

  • saw this on a HUGE screen when it finally arrived at theaters....stuck w/ me ever since, and its been about 4yrs since then.

  • Rotten Tomatoes gave this Film an amazing 92%

I had the privilege of viewing this Film yesterday.

    One word, AWESOME

  • i love this movie, one of the best for me.

  • Haven't seen this movie but clips make it seem very interesting. Some elements of the news in Foreign countries and past films such as the Pianists seems to inspire it. Elements of a bleak past coupled with the Possiblity of a bleak future very good idea to Ponder but horrific to think how it could happen here. Being forewarned is being forearmed lets hope it doesn't happen here. However the tragety of history is how people who don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it.

  • Best movie in the last 10 years! A true masterpiece!

  • I watched this for the first time a few days ago, with friends who'd also not seen it.

This film, as grim as it is, is a masterpiece. We were all stunned into silence by the end.

  • probably one the best movie ever made

  • I have watched this film at least ten times. It's brilliant.

  • this movie is the best ive watched it many many countless times but i must say its a very touching film i give it 5 stars

  • This is true Cinema at it's best!

  • This has to be Alfonso Cuaron's masterpiece.

  • If They Had Like Awards Where They Give um Out to The best Movie Of the Decade, This Movie Should Win

  • Should of just showed the whole baby scene when the fighting stops. Oscar winner just for that one scene. Thanks for the post.

  • haha is that lyric "Cunts are still running the world"?

  • Fantastic movie. Though I don't hope so it'll be the next 1984.

Can someone recommend other film which are similar to "Children of Men"?

  • @Animaduniversum There are a couple of similar movies out there, but don't bother. You will be very underwhelmed by them in comparison to Children of Men

  • A handmaids tale was pretty awesome IMO..

  • Maybe Terry Gilliam's "Brazil" - that has one hell of an ending which had me stunned into silence as the credits rolled.

It's a great dystopian film with plenty of darkly comic moments as well as stunning feats of imagination.

  • One of my favorite films of all time.

  • Really unique movie with brilliant story line, acting, truthful scenes. Clive Owen, Julianne Moore, Clare-Hope Ashitey, Pam Ferris and Michael Caine were fantastic. This movies deserved at least 5 Oscars!!!

  • sooo underated but the best film i have ever seen

  • MY favorite movie, and it will stay like that for a very, very long time

  • The lack of hype cause this movie to not come to my theaters at all! i saw the trailers before movies in my theaters and wanted to see it. i forgot all about it until recently and bought the DVD. Needless to say I was blown away.. loved it.

  • this is a good example of a movie that is way ahead of its time :(

  • what is the music played?

  • "Running the world" by Jarvis Cocker.

  • One of the best movies ever filmed!

  • probaably my second favorite movie, 1 being the departed

  • @BillyandBarry, Departed really? Even though it's a rip off? You should check Infernal affairs (where the idea came from)

  • @DaftMANIA its not a rip off, it's a remake

  • I just finished watching this movie and its probably in the top 5 of my favourite movies. Probably 1st actually. Absoloutley amazing, I'm so shocked that I've never even heard of it before.

    I'm blown away by it.

  • This movie was sooo underrated screw teh haters they love gay movies like "the final destination".

  • I saw that!

Even in 3D, it was abysmal.

Now, THIS film in 3D would be absolutely terrifying! Some of those scenes put you right in the action - it would be too real, they would need a medical team at the cinema in case anyone had a heart attack!

  • @jazzx251 no they wouldnt.... thats a lame statement..

  • @SILLONOH

lol - ok then, they would at least need some extra janitors to clean up the piss and shit after every showing.

  • @jazzx251 no theyd have diapers for sale in the lobby. no need for janitors.

  • @SILLONOH And who would buy one? YOU: "a ticket for 'Children of Men 3D' please'" CLERK: "$10 - and you can have a diaper for an extra dollar" YOU: "ok - I think I'll need it for this film" CLERK: "you certainly will" [guffaw] ME: "a ticket for Children 3d please" CLERK: "$10 - one extra for the nappy" ME: "do I look like I'm 6 months old?" CLERK: "... well, you wouldn't be allowed in if you were sir" ME: "I asked for 'Children of Men' not 'How to Potty Train Your Dragon'"
  • @jazzx251 i dont know about that man. you were the one who said that peaple would shit and piss all over. but how to potty train your dragon. that was funny yo.

  • @SILLONOH yeah really, dipshit. sorry.

  • @RobMille95 hahaha angry youtube nerd get a life loner. seriously 2 go down and look at all the comments just 2 find 1 u dont like and call the commenter a name woa alot of free time on your hands lmao. go out and get bitches. dont be 1.

  • One of the few cinematic masterpieces to be released in the 21st century.

  • absolutely...i couldn't believe how good it was and how it just kept getting better..it simply blew my mind, i still think about it sometimes and i saw it like 2 years ago!

  • I agree with you. I saw it in the movie theatre, and I stayed until the end of the credits.

  • I couldn't agree with you more. This movie is terribly underrated.

  • @Jedisunscreen I agree :)

  • @Jedisunscreen dont forget the departed sir dont you dare

  • I really loved this movie and it remembered me of "Stalker" from Andre Tarkovsky, Its fantastic how the camera work and the very long shots really makes you feel like you actually Experiencing everything yourself. Nothing more then a Masterpiece. Yet very underrated indeed. If you compare this with Titanic which won 9 Oscars! You start to suspect that prices dont go to good movies anymore, But that its just a sticker on a box saying "Hey! I'm a good rated movie! Buy me".

  • this film is wonderful

  • this movie is underrated

  • not all movies should have a touchy feeling, fluffly hollywood ending.

in this movie, there is hope, through it is hard to see with all the death and violence.

  • Good god you're an idiot... learn to post ending spoilers somewhere else. I was really looking forward to seeing this movie.

  • This movie has been out for so long... how have you not seen it?

  • This is such a good movie, feels so realistic. i wounder how many people have layed in bed thinking for hrs when the credits finished rolling! love the film.

  • Excellent film .. And yes Cunts certainly are still running the world .. Always have .. Always will .. *****

  • ATTENTION!

PLEASE! can someone goto the the official website of this movie and tell me what the name of the song is that plays in the trailer to the movie on the website.... ive been dying to know for a long time! thank you.

  • yeah, just saw this yesterday and i was really surprised..everything from plot, style, effects, score..even the Christian allegory, is a masterpice. Though i cant understand why it's so underated now, i think this movie will be more relevant and famous in the future, just like some film greats right now.

  • i was so surprised, but this is one of the best movies i have ever seen

  • same here- this film changed my life.

    i'm not lying either.

  • One of the best film ive seen period.

  • This movie had one of the best action scenes

  • wats name to the song?

  • The song is named "Running the world" by Jarvis crocker

  • Except that this is based off the book by the same name and not some shitty movie from the 80's.

  • Avoid getting into subjects you no nothing about.

A: It's not anything like whatever shitty movie you saw. B: Directing, Writing, Cinematography, and Acting are all factors you failed to consider. C: Watch the damn movie. I just wish I didn't accidentally give you a thumb up.

  • This film is neither set in war-time Germany, nor does it concern itself with minority groups issues, so no wonder it wasn't nominated for Best Picture.

  • What's he saying in the song? "Cunts are still ruling the world?"

the lyrics sound like a Radiohead song

  • Neither voice or the words sound a fucking thing like Radiohead.

  • Take it easy I wasn't saying it sounded like a Radiohead song at all. It's just that "Cunts are still running the world" sounds to me like something Thom Yorke would write.

  • I find it surprising you posted a vulgar anti-capitalist song along with this appeal, especially considering you have the communism critique video.

  • The song is part of the soundtrack so that may be the reason why he picked it.

  • One of the best movies of this decade.
