  • One person fails to see the magic of this instrument. This is simply amazing!

  • I am blown away. I just started my Touchstyle instrument and I don't know whether to be inspired by this or utterly intimidated.

I wonder, do you know if Ian Anderson is aware of your arrangements? Have you met him? He needs to listen to these!

    Just in case you are taking requests, I would love to hear the following;

Wondring Again, Requiem, One White Duck, and, if you want a really time consuming project, Baker st. Muse. Thanks for sharing your talent!

    Sincerely,-Jealous of your ability

  • Stellar is right on

  • Stellar

  • Dude that is SO Cool! I love this!!

  • brilliant!

  • If that's your rough around the edges, what could be your polished and perfect? You are a MAGICIAN!!!! so enjoyed this Tull medley.

  • killer

  • Bob Martino, gostaria de ver vc tocando algumas musicas Brasileiras. Que tal...

  • There´s just not enogh stars to rate this...

  • AMAZING!!!

you make me want to go practice(I ALWAYS want to practice after witnessing the sublime...)

Haven't heard those Tull-tunes in quite the while...

  • I don't think I noticed any "edges" - certainly none that were rough!

    Bravo!

  • i can truly get lost in this...this is amazing

great work, keep it up i love it, all of it

  • I've always been a synthesizer person but have such a deep appreciation for this instrument due to tony levin. I think it along with the cello and duduk have to be my favorite string and wind instruments. Thanks for posting this Rob. I love it.

  • I think both Ian Anderson and Tony Levin would be shaking their heads in approval. Maybe in amazement as well.

    Great, great, great, stuff.

    Thank you !!!!!!

  • I agree with you there. :D

  • I love it!

  • badass as always

  • This is jaw dropping amazing. I like your originals better though..

Your the Satriani of the stick.

  • I can't see why is that a compliment. Satriani is a technique master, nothing more. Rob has all the "feel" needed in addition to the great technical playing.

    Thank you Rob!

  • What kind of person disses the compliment meant for another person? You must be a better person cause your compliment is WAY better than mine, LMAO!... What and ego you have..

  • I would have to politely disagree with you there. Satriani has amazing technique and can also put 'feeling' in by the shed-load in my opinion.

I would suggest that you give 'ten words' a listen. Thats a gorgeous song.

  • You're my favourite, man.

    Just lose for Tull guys.

  • I love it when you "Tull", Rob! Their music is so wonderfully written; Ian Anderson is freat with all he does. Till songs are ideal for the Stick. And you bring those two things together sooo beautifully :-)!

  • Aha, so Ian Anderson is "freat" ... good job XD! Let me write "great", and everyone gets the picture, hehe!

  • wow beautiful sound Rob :)

    great job

Only thing better would be seeing this live

    5/5

  • . . . that wasn't meant to rhyme :P

  • wow that actually really made me laugh!

  • Just close your eyes and enjoy :-) Thanks for your music!

  • Rob, nice stuff... Given "average" musical background and intelligence (some theory and composition, 10 years of band experience), how long would it take to pick up the stick?

  • For me, I had previous piano, guitar and bass experience (as well as some formal music education) and it took me at least a year before I could play some solo pieces all the way through (and badly). I've been playing only the Stick for about 5 years now (averaging an hour or less a day for practice), in which I've developed about an hour of "performable music" (which has a lot of room for improvement). Getting the 2 hands to work together tends to be the biggest challenge!

  • Anyways, maybe that provides helpful info but the amount of time it takes to learn the instrument depends on a lot of things (experience, kind of music, practice time, etc.)

  • Thanks Rob! That frames it well, a fair time commitment but really nice work you've done. I primarily play bass and sing right now. I have a similar coordination requirement between those two functions. Sometimes hard to keep 2 hands of a bass rhythm going and sing at a different cadence. Best wishes, keep up the good work!
