I had this surgery done 7 months ago. I had bad palsey and nerve damage as well. It took 7 months but I'm 100% again. No physical therapy required. My Doctor did suggest taking vitamin B complex both B4 and after surgery for at least 3 months. This helps nerves heal better and faster.
I was wondering how much would be the co-pay for this kind of surgery? and another ths is I have under my left arm what will happen after the surgery would I be able to use my left arm atleast after a week??? or will it be on a cast or what??/
thanks 4 video as i will b having both L&R elbows done, not at same time, i hope, how is the recovery with bending, grip, lifting ect.? as i find out 2moro at the hosp. what elbows and when i will have it done, thanks
@TheKTgals93 I'm to be getting this surgery done, along with bilateral carpal tunnel release surgery in both hands..my ulnar nerve in my left elbow is the one that is damage/exposed(I can feel it between the bones protruding).
Mine is due to work.
thanks for the vid. gives me an idea of what's ahead..doctor only explained my carpal tunnel part of the surgeries so far. (need 3 seperate surgeries so i have a working hand while the repaired one heals.right hand / left hand, then elbow)
Hey everyone! I apologize for not answering some of your questions, this is because I have been busy putting together a video of "my story" for you guys! It will tell you all about the story of my elbows and why I needed the surgery, my recovery and all that fun stuff! Sorry to keep you waiting! the video should be up before christmas! :)
hi. can you please help me with a quick answer to my pain following surgery i am in immense pain like a burning and ripping pain and it hurts like hell to even rest my arm after transposition. above the scar i can tap the nerve very gently and it sends electric shock pains down my arm. is this normal? will it ease? im a week post surgery. would appreciate a rapid response. thanks.
Thx! Had this done yesterday. Had numbness in pinky and half of second finger for 3 yrs, and just got insurance to do it. I could still slalom waterski aggresively (I have competed), but had some strength loss. hoping this fixes it.
The weird thing is, I had it on right also, but I iced my elbow and it went away within 1-2 minutes, and it was permanent fix. It's still slightly numb, but not anywhere like the left hand.
Having my operation on Oct.27,2011..Looks painful watching it,then again..I'll be out cold for an hr or so.Hope operation will resolve my prob.I do have what u called "wasting" muscle just by d pinkie.
(2/2) trapped in a bunch of scar tissue that built up after my original elbow dislocation. Becuase of the tingling when my arm was bent, and the pain I had when I had to straighten it, my range of motion was inhibited. After the surgery my range of motion slowly came back, it isnt what it was before I dislocated, but it is way better than before my surgery. This surgery was a complete success, and I am extremely glad I chose to get it done!
@TheKTgals93 Bro this is scary, reason why i searched this in youtube was,i was diagnosed with this problem 2 weeks ago,the Doctor gave me an anti-inflammatory,it heals the inflammation a little bit but not totally as i still feel discomfort in my elbow and palm,i can still bend my elbow for few mins and the tingling in the hands is minimal so i don't know if the anti-inflammatory can heal this, the surgery is scary but i know you did'nt feel anything right?thanks for sharing this video..
(1/2) I knew I needed this surgery because when ever my arm was bent for more than 15 seconds my last 2 fingers would start tingling, also when ever I would straighten my arm, I got a sharp pinching pain in the back of my elbow where the ulnar nerve sits. " the groove". There was also "wasting" in my hand which means that my muscle in my hand was was not recieving signal, therefore it was depleting. (muscle on palm directly under pinky finger near wrist) It turns out that my nerve was
My surgery was about a year ago now, so pretty much back to normal! Recovery was not too bad, quicker than i thought it would be, surprisingly it wasn't overly painful or anything lots of physio though. My nerve was trapped which is why they had to move mine rather than it coming loose. My scar is still quite red and prominent though. if you have any more questions feel free to ask!
I actually requested the video. they don't normally take videos where i had the surgery but they agreed to do it. one of the doctors in the operating room took it for me.
