@cyrixproductions your such a dick head. It obvious his/her devices are that compatable with ubuntu, but theres no reason for you to act in such a twatty way towards him/her. On topic though great video, works smoothly and great specs!
idk I just had problem after problem after PROBLEM. Then my wireless card driver dident work just randomly while surfing the web so I rebooted still dident work so went to device manager, enabled other drivers, that dident work so I disabled them and that dident work, I re-booted and Ubuntu dident boot...So far, re-installed 9 times.
Plz could u tell me how u managed to get the ati 4670 to work Ive tried but I just get an error at boot and X hangs and I have to select repair configuration.
o and YouMockMe the wireless connection for my dell latitude on ubuntu is very fast ..
my comp auto connects to the internet but if urs dont u can use a program call wifi radar u can get it by going to add/remove programs and installing it wifi radar looks for wireless Internet in ur area ...
so put your vista installing cd in a more compatible machine the paper shredder........
ok LordSamuelJ thats bs i have ubuntu 8.10 and an ati 9000 grafic card and it all runs fine and dandy btw wat desktopt recorder r u useing ??? i would like to no thanks...
hey, i just thought. how well does the wifi handle with the linux os, drivers/functionality? I'm thinking about making the switch b/c vista sucks and like hell will i use a mac.
For the wireless cards with a native Linux driver its great. There is ndiswrapper which lets you use a windows driver, but it doesn't work as well, and it can be hard to find the right driver if your computer is 64 bit.
well its now been some time and I've made the switch... I went with Linux Mint vs Ubuntu. They're both about the same but Ubuntu was easier to use while Mint has prooven to be more stable. The catch 22 is that they both suck on wifi. Whenever I am downloading anything, I loose my connection. I'll be on OpenArena for 3 days, no problems but once I download anything, it dies and I have to restart.
It´s only a cheap copy of real promotion videos. I am running Compiz Fusion Git on OpenSUSE 11.0 with mostly all of the effects on an Athlon 64 X2 3600+ without any Problems^^
Get CompizConfigSettingManager (CCSM) Installed if you don't already have it.
Open CCSM and check the checkbox next to Cube gears (Its under the effects section).
In the desktop section click the desktop cube button, then go to the appearance tab, there will be a skydome section (you may have to expand it), check the skydome and animate skydome boxes, and change the skydome image to whatever you want.
Yeah, I think most older cards work fine, and some newer ones, but niether my ATI Radeon X1600 pro or my Radeon X1950 pro seem to work. There is some type of driver issue with the the X series Radeons.
Dunno, but its in advanced settings manager/ animations /close animation, edit & change to random & increase time. Do this for all animations ie. close, effect, focus etc and make sure all random effects are ticked. This enables all effects randomly
Quad makes a big difference when you try 2 use a screen capture utility as well as having all these windows open. Most other vidoes on here have been taken with handheld cameras.
mostly because they can't find a screen capture for Linux, i did i have dural core and my video didn't come out this good. quad core makes a huge differance! :D
i think graphic card life shall lesser.

It is just hard for Windows ;).
oN Linux you can just compile a opensource driver for 64-bit

1) How do you get those moving gears in the middle of the cube?
2) How do you change the background of the cube area? (Like he has that scene of buildings)
Thanks!
