  • @futbolram accualy its the air bubble that expands and causes the glass to burst witch allows the water in the pipes to flow, and like you said it is colored water, the color indicates at what temp the bulb will burts.

  • @Npanagakis no its just colored water in a tube with a small air bubble inside. water expands with increase of temperature and bursts when the pressure in the bulb gets to high.

  • asshole

  • I have a frame by fame picture group of the activation of a similar link and lever style head taken by a high speed camera. This actually didn't turn out that bad!

  • how come its only 3/4 inch pipe

  • @uaskmewhat Looks like copper. Less friction loss in copper pipe, so the pipe size necessary is usually smaller.

  • @omenroc1 it plastic pipe which has the same c factor as copper

  • Kinda need a high speed camera to do slow motion video lol

  • the comments are from the guys who are out of work....

  • Gee, you people are so harsh on the guy. Way to gang up on him like some brainless mob.

  • @A550RGY YouTube is full of brainless trolls that act like sheep, one after the other.

  • the head was a collectors item , to bad you set it off ,

  • omg u retard

  • how exactly do these activate? does a bit of plastic melt or something?

  • @LolitsDeformed I think that there is a small glass tube with a little mercury in it and wen it gets hot the mercury rises and it rises so much that the tube breaks and next thing you know there is a new ocean.

  • @LolitsDeformed those to levers have sort of a clip on them with some solder on it holding the levers together once the solder melts the lever release and let the water fly.

  • need a high speed camera to get good shots like this.

  • WOW!! even in reverse slow mo?? what a looza

  • You sound like a fag

  • don't forget to turn the water back on again!!!

  • Nice 70's series.

  • do you know what type of head you have there? there is 3 different types that are used.

  • It said "International Automatic Sprinkler Co." on the deflector.

  • sorry, lol...that's not what I meant. the one you have is called an upright. ment to be in the up position. the other 2 are pendent and sidewall. a pendent is hung upside down like you have and sidewalls goes on walls...lol you can tell by the deflector...if it looks like an umbrella the it's an upright, if it's flat? it's a pendent.

  • Oh, ok. Thanks for the info!

  • well... actually, there are a lot more than that.

let alone the fact that the head he set off is older than I am.

  • "i do not have water cause i do not wanna flood the basement" LOL

  • How did you make it play backwards?

  • COOL

  • That's great for a slow motion video!
