The "all life is sacred" argument is bullshit. It's the same argument used against abortion. Nothing about life is magical. If the life of a human fetus is not as important as the life of a mother, than the life of a human child is more valuable than a veal calf. We make decisions on what is worth protecting based on a number of factors, and a cow doesn't cut it for me. If the meat industry is excessively cruel, vegetarianism is an ineffective tactic anyway.
I don't think the worst thing is eating animals, but rather keeping them in tiny cages and make them have crappy lives. I don't think veganism is so easy for everybody, as he makes out to be. It's not like if we stop eating meat, we will be run over by animals. At the same time while eating meat, we're not really reducing the numbers of said animal. It's not like we go out and kill random animals, reducing their population.

Inflicting pain and havign to regard for the wellbeing of animals, whilst alive, and during the slaughter process, is what I think is wrong. We can eat what we like; but the unnecessary brutality and negligence in teh whole animal husbandry process is absurd, pointless, and completely sickening. No, i did it for 15 years because A) i didnt like the thought of an animal dying for my stomach, and B) i didnt like the taste of meat, and i hate to disappoint you but it wasnt half-hearted... for over 15 years NO type of meat or animal in any shape or form passed my lips. And then for reasons i would rather not speak about, i tried fish and chips, and guess what...... i liked it, and so i continued to eat it!

Eating meat instead of vegetables costs the planet dearly, in terms of co2 release and water consumption, but it doesn't 'perpetuate a culture of violence'. Your argument is dumb. Vegetables are not sentient beings. Non-human animals are. Plants don't suffer. We need and want to survive as a species. So if we had to eat beings that suffered, although it would be morally wrong, I would do it because I have to survive.

No right to survive? Rights are granted. if there were no plants or animals to eat, I'd have no problem wiping out a few human beings who I didn't know in order to survive. Why or how would one species tell another species to not eat meat? Your comments are just bizarre. Non-human animals must eat each other (for the most part) in order to survive.
Human animals don't eat each other but we eat another species, causing unnecessary suffering.
The point is that we're compassionate beings. Why not allow non-human animals into our moral sphere? It's simply not necessary to eat animals.

you do make a good point. I love meat. But i can't stand these parents not telling thier children where thier food comes from! not telling them how that burger went from cow to patty. My parents told me the first time i asked the question (i may have been 3, mabey 2). As for me i have killed an animal (humanly), which i latter ate.

Animals have no concept of innocent. Animals will kill other animals in the wild when it is to thier percieved advantage. Animals have been seen killing for pleasure, even Herbivores. Not that it matters though, in the end we kill animals for food, products, and sometimes testing, all of which we need.

I've heard somewhere that human creature is the smartes and the most beautiful in the world. I've heard that people are cleaver that animals and can build enterprises, temples and banks. If this is true , tell me why people kill animals (absolutely defenceless) and eat dead bodies? Why they cover meat n sauces , feed children this shit and pay for this.
