  • That is just a perfect video description. Wilco.

  • Would have preferred to see Nels' hands during that solo instead of his ass, but the solo was great anyways.

  • Jeef Tweedy is 2000's John Lennon.

  • the thing is, cline is just SO FUCKING chill.

  • this sounds so much better than the cut on the record.

  • Good to see a future classic

  • Andrew Bird and Wilco need to conspire on an album together... jesus that would be awesome.

  • can anyone tell me what type of distortion pedal tweedy uses on the bridge? he gets such full tone.

  • @cornellgitman78

No distortion pedal at all, at least that's what it sounds like to me. Just that crazy Barny Kessell model Gibson through a tube amp. Period.

  • WILCO RULES!

  • OK WTF, who is watching these videos and saying they dislike them. I can understand if you don't like Wilco, well not really cause everyone should listen to Wilco especially the Sky Blue Sky album. Hell, my mom even digs this album. What I don't get is why you keep watching them? I think your jealous, cause Tweedy has more musical talent in his pinkie than you have in your entire body. WILCO FOREVER

  • DAT SOLO!

  • One of the best bands I've ever seen in concert.

  • Awe-inspiring solo in a brilliant song, I can watch it over and over. They all wear their Beatles influences on their sleeve in this album, with all the pre-meditated guitar melodies (throughout the album but especially in songs like Walken and Either Way). Cline and Tweedy are a great match, pity it didn't come off as perfectly in their 2009 release.

  • @csikszentmihalyi Totally disagree that it didn't come off on Sky Blue Sky. I listen to it over and over again for the perfection of the guitars.

  • @valhoff3 I said it didn't come off as perfectly in their 2009 release. I fkn love Sky Blue Sky.

  • I wish I was 10% of the player Cline is

  • i would sell my soul to the devil to play the guitar like that. Seriously.

  • @MrAdbekunkus we'll talk. can't help you with the guitar thing... but I will take your soul.

  • This has to be the fastest 4 min in music .this is one of those songs that could have been 8 min long, and worth every second

  • LOVE IT!

  • 2:32 jeff is like "thank god we brought that guy in i don't wanna have to do that shit"

  • Nels is one bad man.

  • No wonder they were nominated for a Grammy!!!

  • my new favorite video on youtube

  • Lovely song. Jeff has such a beautiful voice, he does not get the recognition he deserves IMO.

  • so amazing, ending solo was crazy

  • Damn, that is good stuff!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • oh man i just needed to see that

    nice

  • i saw them in concert last night at massey hall and it was a badass show

  • Nels Cline is a god!

  • @SelsdonMowbray Let's not forget the drummer Glenn. You can see him completely getting off at the end.

  • @rugshort by the drummer getting off, did you mean getting off beat? Or just climaxing? Because he's right on beat if you ask me..

  • @amoebazebra420 Yep, he's right on it and he's definitely couming off.

  • We need way more songs and bands like this..Thanks Mr. Tweedy....Talk about brightening someone's day!

  • woo the ending solo amazing makes u wanna say did u not see that

    such an amazing guitarist

  • such a beautiful song a wonderful band very good post thnks much

  • solo...soooo good...about...to have....coronary.....GAK!

  • That dude's live solos are always so much more awesome then the studio versions.

  • Nels Cline. What a badass.

  • sky blue sky is better than wilco the album

  • They are both really good albums. Its ok. You can like both.

  • the middle bit gives me goose pimples every time.

  • every time i listen to this the solo seems even more amazing!

  • they are massive

  • Love this song more and more each time I hear it...

  • me too

  • "... When the mysteries we believe in

Arent dreamed enough to be true"

how's that for an Oxymoron :)

    Great poetry these guys.

  • totally agree with you. tweedy's songwriting is WAAAAAAYY above par. can't get enough of wilco. by far the most versatile (sp) band i know of.

  • I've heard this 200 times and it just keeps getting better.

  • i don't understand how these video views are not in the millions.

  • because people generally have bad taste in music? as time goes on, I'm more convinced that wilco is the best band around and that this is great classic music happening right now

  • Totally agree - my fave band is the Kinks and Tweedy is this generation's American version of Ray Davies. Brilliant stuff.

  • También mi favorita... tuve la suerte de verlos ayer y estuvieron inmensos...

  • He loses his pick at 4:05, doesn't slow him down a bit. Really one of the best songs ever I think.

  • I never noticed that...makes this even more awesome!!! Man they rock!!!!

  • Actually, he means to do that.

  • I don't think he's losing his pick. What you're seeing is the white knob of the tremolo bar has he drops it out of the way.

  • Yeah, you're right....

  • Why do they never show the rythym guitarist?

  • because hes the rythym guitarist

  • Where does this footage come from? I want to own it.

  • It came out as a bonus DVD with Sky Blue Sky

  • sky blue sky album comes with a extra dvd

  • My favorite part of this song is definitely Nels Cline's solo at the end. The guy really can rip it on guitar when he wants to.

  • Agreed! Adds a dark, melancholy element that really pushes Wilco to where I like it most

  • That solo bit is amazing man and he is backed up by an amazing band. I love this song. Wilco deserve to be massive, but they probably aren't interested in that sort of thing.

  • WILCO deserves to be at FloydFest :D

  • feed the business.....

  • I'll side with you , if you side with me.

    perfect lyric

  • I completely agree man! This song has some of the best lyrics man!

Plus, this song has it all. Great lyrics, great singing, great drum beat, great guitar work and solo, great builds, great break downs, cool bass line, and above all, a WONDERFUL vibe.

  • from 1:45-2:25 the guitars reminds me of some pavement song.

  • That's a sexy guitar Tweedy's playing there.

  • EH, that's a Gibson Johnny A. You need about about $5k to get one. That sounds like a lot, but Jeffs vintage Teles and SG's, and Nels vintage Jazzmasters probably cost much more than that. I buy mine off the rack at Guitar Center. I couldn't sound like those guys if I had a million dollar guitar.

  • Not a Johnny A but a vintage Gibson Barney Kessel Custom. They were made from 1961 to 1973. Saw one for sale in pretty good shape for about $3,500.... i wish i had the cash....

  • beauty song. but the solo is the greatest of all the song

  • sweeeet

  • 3:29 !!!!

  • There are those lucky few who can say they were at the Cavern Club in the early 60's before The Beatles became THE Beatles. Right place, right time. That was a few years before I was born, however, I was there in '84 at the Belleville West gym watching Jeff, Jay and Mike tear through their first gig...a battle of the bands contest, covering the Who and The Clash. Pure, raw excitement that foretold of greater things to come. One of Belleville's finer moments. And yes, they won the gig.

  • That must have been an awesome battle of the bands!!!! Lucky you!!! I'm jealous!

  • english is not my native language, so even knowing every word, I have a bit of difficulty in understanding the meaning of some parts. can someone explain to me this one?

"Tires type black Where the blacktop cracks Weeds spark through Dark green enough to be blue"

  • My interpretation of it byrows is that he's creating a visual image of a car tire rolling (black colored tires roll on the ground, or "type black") down a broken paved road ("where the blacktop cracks"). In these cracks, weeds have grown through. Because green and blue are together on the light spectrum (and "blue" rhymes with "through") I think the last line is just showing how well developed the weeds are in their growth.

But that's entirely my opinion, hope that helps! :-)

  • The lyrics refer to an old car that is sinking into the earth. i.e weeds coming through the roof.

    love those lyics

  • I think this is my fav from that album.

  • i love this song!

  • its a kenny barnell gibson i think thats how his name is spelled

  • is it maybe a gibson barney kessel?

  • looks like a gibson ES 355 hollow body..I could be wrong. but it's gorgeous either way.

  • If anyone has seen them perform this on The PBS Austin City Limits show (not the music festival). They have this beautiful 30-second ambient thing replacing the drum roll at the beginning.

P.S. What's the Guitar Jeff is playing? I've only seen him play it.

  • a got kinda behind on the solo but it still sounded awesome

  • hey man..its a great garage band!! just like the old days. good music and great talent

  • Garage band? No garage band I've seen has a Wikipedia article with 107 footnotes.

  • Jeff has the Fleet Foxes opening for Wilco on their Pacific NW 08 tour. the FF are young (21) with crazy potential..their music is a through back to CSNY,The Band, folk, alt country, Simon and Garfunkle, etc...it's great to see jeff and company supporting new acts that matter...

  • this song sold me on wilco!

  • me too

  • That solo puts chills down my spine!

  • Jeff Tweedy is brilliant and I commend him and his band's musical skill.

  • Shreddddd

  • his lyrics r beautiful. As Bono said just write about the weather, man. A favorite.

  • "weeds sprout through

dark green enough to be blue"

love the words jeff uses!! a lot of his lyrics seem very simple but i think that's what makes them so beautiful.

  • what a solo

  • Put a big smile on my face.

  • wow, until now i've never given this band much thought. This song is so beautiful, it transcends . . .

  • oh and Either Way and Impossible Germany as well...tab for the many guitar parts...very cool indeed!!! ;-)

  • I got all the tab for it and the other instruments as well.

  • lol can anyone tab this?

  • I just finished playing it, I could probably throw one together. Nels is the man!

  • Nels Cline is awesome. I use to listen to Sky blu sky everyday since the first time I've listened it. Its gorgeous.

  • pretty friggin awesome. theyre music will never fade from me. i listen to something new in the same exact song everytime.

  • Yeah, that guitar solo gives me chills every time I hear it. I'm a Wilco fan now.

  • holy. shit. the solo

  • The Intro of this song always hits me. Once Jeff blurts out " Tires type black...", it's all over for me. This song is really amazing.

  • se me pone la piel de gallina. anyone knows the name of the guitar player?

  • se llama Nels Cline, es un guitarrista formado en el jazz y esas cosas, pero con wilco suena mejor que nunca. que garn cancion por dios, que gran banda

  • gracias Hector

  • Sky Blue Sky is the best album of '07. that solo is so good it makes me sick

  • I've never listened to Wilco before this album. Opinions of the new version?

  • It's very good. Best since Yankee.

  • i'm in complete agreement

  • Nels Cline is God!!!

  • What a rebirth! These guys are the best Wilco to date.

  • what is this from?!!

  • It is was from a bonus dvd that came with the album

  • his solo just about made my head explode.

  • Greatest guitar solo I have ever heard.

  • truly

  • lovely
