I knew before and after cross-training they could do well even from the start, because I was just a decent high school wrestler and in fights with average dudes I did well. I took some hits, but rag dolled most guys and pounded them.

Interesting that he starts his leg attacks with good enough variety but can use the ankle pick to start and smoothly switches up to whatever he needs to based on the opponents reaction. He rarely does the completed "Ankle pick" that we first learn from early lessons (hook head aggressively, grab LOW on ankle nearly at the same time and run them over). Even the other top wrestlers in the world have trouble stopping his set up.
