I think it's pretty obvious that most Republicans are in favor of 8, but there are still many rational republicans and they're the ones running this ad, not the party itself.
Well, as a member of the Episcopal Church, which opposes Prop 8, I know what you mean to be a small voice fighting the perceptions.
But just because one church says No on 8, doesn't give the religious a free pass on the issue. We are also, by association, Opponents of Equality.
I think this video gives Republicans way too much credit. Just like in the Catholic church, the gay-hating faction has driven so many people out that there is nothing left but an morally bankrupt shell.
What is the point of being part of a political party if you don't stand for what they believe? I think that if the Republicans can't lift their finger to fix their party platform, they are not going to make any greater effort to actually stand for what they believe.
Viewers: Do you believe MARRIAGE is between a man and a woman? You're in good company. Governor Arnold believes marriage is between a man and woman, and yet he opposes Prop 8, along with a majority of Californians in the latest polls. WHY? Because most folks can actually tell the difference between BELIEVING in something and FORCING that belief on everybody else.
I have some issues with this video, but that's not important because I really appreciate what the Republicans Against 8 are hoping to accomplish with this video.
