@stingwings It's a show for gay men and girls who go "squee!!!" at cute guys. Everything about new Who is a severe exercise in cynicism. It's as if a computer was programmed to do everything anyone has ever done anywhere to appeal to the lowest common denominator (generic action movie trailer music, disenfranchised chav girls who turn out to be all important, token minorities, prurient sex play, sickly pathos...) - for the end purpose of creating a gay themed show that is "successful".
imagine if they included one of the doctors IN family for a clip or something. like a random clip where peter is like "aw man this is almost as awesome as the time i helped the doctor save the earth!" then goes to a weird clip. lol
@akiraman26 you need to learn how to watch your language... it can offend people and worse it can start fights, even get you killed if you talk like that to the wrong people but even worse, it can get you blocked from my channel and banned from youtube!
Hate to break it to you guys who are saying '74 to '79. Wasn't he the Doctor for SEVEN YEARS? now I can count. That's only five years you twits. '74 to '81. -_- like oh my god guys. Learn something.
@2muchharrypotter what you say is true, he was The Doctor for 7 years, from 1974 to 1981, however this version of the theme was only used from 1974 to 1979, in 1980 they started using a newer version of the theme, which is the same one used during the entire Peter Davison era
@ion010101 of course '74 to '79 duh, that was when tom baker was the doctor so it was the best. but even colin and sylvester had better stories than the stuff they are churning out nowadays.
ah that was the good doctor back in the 70's and 80's. If you ever wanna get the true doctor who experience never watch the new ones...they dont have the same feel at all. I call the new ones Doctor who in name only.
This is how epic Tom Barker is. Despite it being a brithish sci-fi he played the charcter so well that he gets refrence on Family Guy and the Simpsons
@morugatu1 Family Guy is actually a very intelligent show, but since so many little kids and short-minded people watch it they don't understand half of the jokes and messages throughout the show. Same with South Park, when you see racism in the show they're actually making fun of the people who are racist, they're not supporting it.
@TopherJ316 Wow. The thumbs down on your comment, and the thumbs up on the parent comment, is probably the most retarded thing anyone is going to find on the internet. I'm going to let others know, if they want to know what is the most retarded thing on the internet, I have found it. It's right here. There's blinkered. There's lame. And then there's, whoa. My mind is blown.
I knew about the more recent dr who seasons but it took me a while to fiqure out that this was the older doctors til i actually looked up all the doctors
@Sceili1234 that seems to be a common occurance because I didn't get into WHO until '07 which was a year after this came out and I don't even remember seeing it the first time it was on, however it was so long between the original airing and the DVD release of Blue Harvest that by the time it did come out I saw it and understood and was totally blown away by the fact that it was in there all along and I didn't even know it. I suppose I just ignored it because I din't understand it
Haha I remember at a band trip I was in my room with my roommates and they turned the tv on to this. I was half asleep then I heard the music and sat up like 'DOCTOR WHO!!!!!!' then I saw Tom and I was like 'Aw, stupid Family Guy....' then I went back to sleep.
@celiseninsan are you refering to me? because i am a massive fan of the old series and I prefer it to the new. I was simply mentioning that they used to 60's music instead of the 70's
@RadekBoktor I know that, you know that... some people just don't seem to know anything about anything then when they think something's right even though everyone around them knows it's wrong and they constantly tell them it's wrong, they think it's too late to back down and admit they're wrong.
i keep picturing them has if the next scene of them would be them all with horrofied facial expressions doing aahhhhh! then Peter-Han Solo would press a button and closing some electronic blinds to the windows XD
Haha, I hadn't even heard of Dr. Who when this episode was released, but when i saw the intro of the original 60-80's, the first time I saw it I remembered this scene. So i looked it up to make sure it was from Dr. Who, and was confirmed instantly when I heard the theme music.

I have the digital copies on my ipod and have had them since I bought each of the DVDs and I have seen each of them close to a million times (not literally of course). Second, check the upload date on this video... that should tell the rest of the story.
@TopherJ316 Wait a minute.... Your the guy who created the group "The Last of The Timelords" on facebook! My name is Warren Boone I post on ur sight all the time lol
@cybertardis99 yeah, me too but I think they're doing some more subtle ones, like Stewie's time machine he has is sort of box shaped... and in The Cleveland Show, Cleveland Jr. thought he was traveling in time inside a portapotty when the portapotty truck picked up the portapotty he was in and dropped it off at a rennaisance fair... that's kind of a reference (at least I thought so anyway)

@GetGlueGuy Right, in the 70s and 80s, it was a thing for college kids to get high while watching Tom Baker episodes. No one would do that, today, unless they were gay gigolos.
@thespiswolf if you think that family guy is ruining good shows and movies by parodizing them, then you are sadly mistaken. George Lucas himself was in on the whole thing basically, or at the very least he was an absolute fan of Family Guy's idea to do this and he even did an interview with Seth MacFarlane for the DVD and he absolutely loved it, as for anyone from Doctor Who or the BBC I don't know how they feel about it but they must have approved seeing as how extremely strict they are
@TopherJ316 seeing as how extremely strict they are about their "copyrights" and how people use their materials... I would call them the "copyright nazis" but they must have had high approval for using actual Doctor Who footage rather than simply putting in a small reference. I love Family Guy even more for their parodies like this and everyone else should too because it's not that they're out to ruin good stuff, they're taking good stuff and making it FUNNY!
@setsunasamachan it's "Blue Harvest" the entire episode is about an hour long and is a complete parody of Star Wars Episode IV, they have also done Empire Strikes Back as "Something, Something, Something, Dark Side" and Return of the Jedi as "It's A Trap" though no Doctor who references in either of the other two.
I keep noticing loads of American shows making Doctor Who references. Im startled the producers are such fans of an otherwise unknown show in the states!
@JadesVidz well, let's put it this way, it's no longer "otherwise unknown" over here. It's been rapidly gaining popularity since the 2005 revival and I wouldn't know exactly how anyone before that would have been introduced to the series (perhaps Classic series episodes on reruns??? or the 1996 TV Movie by Fox?) but either way they've been working Doctor Who into American culture faster and faster and these type of references are going to pop up more and more now.
If you're gonna bitch about how much you "hate" the new series, please go vent it out on myspace where no one will hear or care. :L

Is there NOTHING Family Guy won't ruin?
thespiswolf 8 months ago 4

@TopherJ316 Family Guy is pure garbage.

What episode is this?
setsunasamachan 8 months ago
@setsunasamachan it's "Blue Harvest" the entire episode is about an hour long and is a complete parody of Star Wars Episode IV, they have also done Empire Strikes Back as "Something, Something, Something, Dark Side" and Return of the Jedi as "It's A Trap" though no Doctor who references in either of the other two.

@setsunasamachan cant remember, it was one of the star wars spoofs they did

I keep noticing loads of American shows making Doctor Who references. Im startled the producers are such fans of an otherwise unknown show in the states!
JadesVidz 8 months ago
@JadesVidz well, let's put it this way, it's no longer "otherwise unknown" over here. It's been rapidly gaining popularity since the 2005 revival and I wouldn't know exactly how anyone before that would have been introduced to the series (perhaps Classic series episodes on reruns??? or the 1996 TV Movie by Fox?) but either way they've been working Doctor Who into American culture faster and faster and these type of references are going to pop up more and more now.
