  • When the Police split in '84 they were the last great rock band - melodically playful, sinewy and hard edged. Sting's voice had matured into lower notes and his songwriting had reached an unerring depth. No matter how subordinate they became Summers and Copeland were always on hand to add their own experimental approaches. When they reformed they were still miles ahead of the rest, but a lot looser around the edges - no longer stadium rock, more a glorified jazz lounge act.

  • andy looks so much younger than he is

  • I love how Stewart was out signing autographs.

  • Stewart, smiling as always, he seems a really easy going man.

  • SHUT UP!!!!!!

  • Badly out of shape...A 3 piece outfit,so have to work so much harder.

  • what song are they playing at 3:33?

  • "When the World is running down, You make the best of what's still around" from Zenyatta Mondatta 3rd album. Honestly, that mouthful is the name of the song :)

  • how many songs played the band, that day?????????

  • i just saw the police in west palm beach florida all i have to say is wow what a show people went nuts dancing in the rows thanks police for nice concert

  • Cool...

  • This band's tour in 2007 helped bring back some fond memories of what some goodness the 80's brought to many of us rockers...thank you from the bottom of my heart Police!!

  • the way they sounded during their tour was so balanced and so perfect, and those hits sounded like classics, not like old-time hits. i'm so glad they reunited, not because of some nostalgic reason, but because they have been developing their skills all this time and approached some other level.

  • totally agree with you in the programme sting said how he thought its so many years, we have developed as musicicians then so do the songs, and it worked,

i dont listen to the studio albums as much now i have the certifiabe cd/dvd lol

  • Stings voice has become somewhat brittle over the years,, though; and he's got that weird accent on certian words as if he was forgein or something.....

  • Im in Dubli, heading to London on Friday to see them play Twickenham at the weekend, then they're here in October. Have seen sting many times but cant wait for this. Giddy as a schoolboy.....

  • Saw them live a couple of weeks ago in Montreal! It was great! If you like the police do a myspace band search for Mcpherson - he's heavily influenced by them. Rock on

  • Wow, it's hard to believe Sting wanted to reform after doing all of his own stuff. I suppose deep down he really missed playing with them and the special songs they wrote together.

  • Sounds not bad. I hope it's not too late for a reunion. They are getting older, I mean. ;)

Hmmm... Do they come to germany? Might be nice to know for me..

  • As far as I know from toursite, Berlin, Frankfurt, and I'm sure of a few other cities-Just check their main website police tour 07 on web

  • No Berlin as I see it. Hamburg, Munich etc. And the prices are a real hammer. 75€ for the cheapest place in Hamburg. And It is Euro, I guess there are many people making a profit with them. :/ It is really a bit much.

  • I saw them in Arizona on June 18th--the greatest performance I've seen in the last 10 yrs and don't forget that his son Joe (Fiction Plane), the opener act, did well too!!--Stay together Sting/Andy/Stewart!

  • I saw them in Arizona, Cleveland, and Hershey PA. The band just sounds better and better. If you can see them in an outside venue, I highly recommend it. Thank you guys for doing this. If you don't make another album (which would be great), thanks for bringing some sense of closure to a remarkable band.

  • yeah guys, best thing you ever could do. i'm happy!

  • I'm dying I love the Police.Damned tickets are so high. But it's about time they got back together. They did leave too soon.

  • Check out my "The police Live in Chile 1982" sound better than this...!"!! AWESOME !!!

  • a dream come true...i never thought they would reunite!

  • i saw them* in oakland

  • thank the gods sting came too his senses.

  • i saw them on june 26 at in Dallas at American airlines it was so awesome i recommended everyone to see them

  • I saw then in okland

  • Just found out I am going to see them 6/23. My fabulous son is taking me to see them for my birthday. I never imagined getting to see The Police at last!

  • I'm glad these guys are back. When they left the scene it left a void in rock music. The Soul and World music elements went missing. The Police have a way of keeping the pretenders honest. Their influences are broader and deeper. It shows in the music.

  • I think stewart has aged very sexily. His voice is so much deeper now. same with sting. In old interviews they just sound like boys.

  • dude relax...so the music is influenced by many rythems and styles...these guys are awsome musically and they're old so dont expect them to sound young ...who cares about ego's they're alot older and i'm sure more mature then they were in the late 70's and early 80's...i'm just glad to see them play together again.

  • nose job boy sting spurts out the rather uninteresting over hyped repetitive rubbish he got away with on the back of reggae in the late seventies...dont forget this guy has aboslutely slumped over everything musical, to no effect save album sales, whihc mean nothing when it comes to quality of songs...in my op. dreadful nose job sting has too. tells us who he is.

  • Hey fool, hate what you please but make an effort and keep it to yourself! Remember: Beauty lies in the eye of the beholder!

  • if you want to listen to third grade rubbish from mighty fools go ahead...just dont snuff the oxygen of a free world enough to pump three slugs into the notion of free speech. police 2 are absolute sick cretinus rubbish to the power of three. no, wait, sting is involved, nose job man, make that to the power of four. rubbish to the power of four.

  • Anyone else notice that Sting had his hand in front of his mouth during the interview portion? Experts in non-verbal communication will tell you that usually means they're not being entirely truthful ... or it means that he's really conscientious of the fact that he has bad breath. I doubt the wounds they inflicted on each other will ever really heal, but I'm glad to see them back together again.

  • Good to see them back. Andy, hold on!

  • :S Stewart is... seriously... OLD. :S

They all are. :S Weird, is all.

  • Please, please stay together long enough for me to see you in Denver, CO ... or even better, all the way to NYC, Aug. 3! VIVA LA POLICE!

  • JAH LIVE!One of the most important band ,that`s the very, very good news,i hope to see in Brasil, always be welcome.Wars and egos comes and goes, but music is forever, long life to Power Trio

  • nota 10

  • they actually sound good!

  • It's about time The Police have a reunion tour. The public has demanded it for years. They are one of those bands that could pick up right where they left off and sound great- It's too bad we all know that STING IS SUCH A CONCEITED JERK !!!!!!!!!!

  • never have faded, the best / classic songs ever written, timeless

  • I was there...amazing show guys

  • tell me,how about the show!!!!!!!!!

  • whos going on monday in van?

  • They spent a total of 6 weeks..if not more in my amazing city of Vancouver BC rehearsing. And they launch here in Vancouver for 3 shows starting in a few days

  • Still the greatest rock band ever from 80's and beyond...We will enslave your kings & queens LOL-damn Stewart you fricking rock/That day this is what we should do-Sting my favorite artist ever!

  • Welcome back! Never get bored with your music, guys.

  • agreed

  • I'm going next month. yay!

  • Old or not...the best music made in the 70's and 80's!!!!! Let them play.

  • I'm going to see them in Antwerp

  • :( kinda of a bitch their playing 2 days in Montreal i really would love to go but tickets are like 100$

  • amazing 3 piece band, all brilliant musicians, sorry to see they wont be coming to Scotland in the forth coming tour.

  • Ohh the hell !!! What a fuckin' good vibe these guys still giving to me! Stewart is awesome... still one of the best drummer on Earth.... I already got my ticket for October 2 in Turin Italy and it'll be my first Police live concert!!! YEAH!!!!!!!

  • stewart was always a powerhouse drummer,i got 2 see them too,

  • What's the name of the song being played at 3:25?

  • "when the world is running down you make the best of what's still around"

  • thanks :)

  • Right on! I second that.

  • when the world is running down, from album zenyatta mondatta

  • these guys were, are and probably always will be THE SINGLE BEST LIVE MUSICIANS TO EVER REACH the TOP 10 SINCE THE WORLD BEGAN. How's THAT?

  • aca en argentina se anuncia en diciembre, 2 fechas

    (Argentinian in December, 2 concerts)

  • Finally Sting has understood that it's not ego or the lute but the MagiCk that counts.

  • Sting is 55 (56 Oct 2.)

    Stewart is 54 (55 July 16.)

    Andy is 64 (65 Dec 31.)

  • I didn't realize that Andy was so much older.

  • been a fan of these guys since 1977. sting is 55,same as stewart and i think andy is 64 this year....rolling stones....fuck off. listen to real class HERE

  • sting is truly talented. playing even a simple bassline, and singing is not easy.

  • They sound awful! Sting's voice has faded dreadfully since his 80s/90s hey-day, the guitar isn't anywhere near loud enough, and the drums are all over the shop.

  • Will you give them some time to reconnect? Will you be able to do the same when you're in your 50s or 60s?

  • Just too hot!! Can't wait to seee them at Giants Stadium~NJ!

  • Too young to see them first time round, but got tickets for the 6th Oct myself. Bout time Sting put that fuckin lute down and faced up to the fact that The Police was the best thing he was ever involved in. Stewart Copeland the genius, and HIS band.

  • I recall Sting touring with a small group (incl. Dominic Miller) playing classic Police songs ie during the Live8 and stuff - I was wondering at the time, why didn't he do it with the boys again?! Good thing they've come back together...

  • just booked ticket for 6th October dublin. can't wait.

  • Me too.... Roll on October!!!!!

  • Welcome back Police! This is what is needed now. Sting is better with the band than being on his own. It is the collective talents of Sting, Andy Summers and Stewart Copeland that counts.

  • hombre! graciassss!!! thank you very much for share this man!

  • I'm a sixteen year old girl, and a HUGE police fan. Does anybody think that it would be worth it for me to spend probablty $300 on a ticket (they're almost gone for the New York/New Jersey shows) and go with a friend to see them in the summer, or would it be a waste of money, because thats what my mom seems to think... Please help, I need some input! Also, if anybody has any ideas on how to convince my mom to let me go, it would be a GREAT help.

  • When I was about your age in 1982, I spent $22 to see them at The Police Picnic in Toronto. It would have been worth $300. And I had to beg to get permission to go too.

  • old men playing young men songs. like the stones, only with talent.

  • Pretty fucking awesome they are reuniting. I always thought they were one of the best rock bands ever...Sting has brilliant songwriting skills, he's..eh...not a bad singer....he is IMO one of the best on bass I've ever heard, Andy Summers is a brilliant guitarist, and Stewart..well...he's one of the best rock drummers easily and among the 100 greatest of all time (includes jazz drummers). They have a unique sound no other band I've heard can match....THE POLICE RULE!!!!

  • the who, king crimson, black sabbath, spinal tap..

  • This tours gonna be quite the experience

  • Vuelve los mejores del mundo!!!

  • estas en lo correcto los mejores del universo!!

  • i am 12 years old and i love fleetwood mac, the police and all that music from the 70s 80s and 90s i heat all the reggaeton!!!

  • Stewart ROCKS--- He cracks me up! I hope they play mostly off of thier first few albums.... that ROCKED!!

  • Brit rock rules the world - Genesis, The Who, The Beetles .. oh and some band called The Rolling Stones

  • Lol yea, not to mention, Cream, Fleetwood Mac, Led Zep..my fingers are tired now

  • ...Queen, Deep Purple, Pink Floyd, Yes, The Jam, The Clash, Sex Pistols, David Bowie...

  • The BEATLES you mean? Yeah, American music and bands have not contributed much have they...

    Please....

  • Actually, The Police are a Brit-American band.

  • Aaaaw Stewart's so HAPPY!!

  • only band who could comeback like they never lefy. cant wait to see them

  • Naw he's just a sr. citizen now. If he was bad shape you think he'd go on tour...thats very physical riding and flying....come on now....

  • considering summers is 64, I reckon he looks pretty good. anyway, who cares how they look? they all have a youthful outlook, copeland is like a schoolboy in a sweet shop. sting's voice is as good as I've ever heard it, and his bass playing is probably the best he's ever played too. andy's guitar work needs polishing, sure, no big deal. How many guys on this earth can just produce magic when they get on a stage like this though? ppfff makes me jealous as hell!!

  • charleybones, you right andy is the best never wrong is his style.

  • I didn't hear too many mistakes. He just didn't play straight from thre album. No one does. Live performances always include mistakes. And hwen there are only only three instruments being played, the mistakes are more obvious.

  • Wow Andy looks bad, is his health on the decline? Too bad if so.

  • The guy is 60+ years old, how do you want him to look?

  • Ok I did not realize that.

  • Andy is 64. He's older than my dad! (I'm34)

  • Super Musicians!

  • It´s great, but andy made some mistakes

  • DAMN I GOTTA BE AT THE BAY AREA SHOW!!!

  • The masters are back to rock you...what a sound!!!

  • I love it! (Except for the Best Buy crap!)
