I did my research, and from what I can gather the kid's parent's were behind him when he was doing the let's play. Whenever he dies or screws up, his parents would repeatedly belt him, hence the terrified screams.

I tried playing Amnesia. 5 seconds before the creature first appeared a bright and rather cheerful message popped up warning me that it was about to appear, and advised me on what to do.
While the rest of the game I played had some tense moments and creepy bits I seriously doubt any human being could actually find it scary enough to scream or pause the game out of fear.

Or one of those times where you lose track of where you are and walk not knowing where you are and then come around the corner to see those monsters, I would at least yelp in surprise.

Tons of people didn't like Jenomorph's Amnesia videos because it was Sept. 11 and they felt sympathy toward him.

If you want a scary gaming experience play Penumbra. In my opinion it is scarier than Amnesia. I think the same people made it.
The monsters are similar to Amnesia but you have to actively "face" them more... As in there's this part in the computer room where the monster breaks out right in front of you and chases you. It's unavoidable, and you have to let it follow you into a room and then run out of the room and lock it in. And this part where you get locked in a room with one.

I will say this though: watching an LP of this is nothing like really playing it in the dark alone with your speakers cranked up. You really have to immerse yourself to get really scared.

I found Amnesia to be pretty fucking scary, and even I didn't scream like that. I think there was one time where I flat out screamed (and it was out of surprise at a monster spawn. More of a knee-jerk shock reaction than actual fear). Most of it was just me whimpering pathetically and saying "Oh fuck I don't want to do this" over and over.
TL;DR This is probably the scariest, most atmospheric game I've ever played and I still think he's overreacting.
Dude, I'm a complete wuss who gets paranoid when he is alone in the house and I don't get that scared over Amnesia. I've freaking played Silent Hill 4 and seen several videos of the other ones as well as Fatal frame. Do that, it toughens you up, makes you into a man. Call me when you do. If you want a scary gaming experience play Penumbra. In my opinion it is scarier than Amnesia. I think the same people made it.
The monsters are similar to Amnesia but you have to actively "face" them more... As in there's this part in the computer room where the monster breaks out right in front of you and chases you. It's unavoidable, and you have to let it follow you into a room and then run out of the room and lock it in. And this part where you get locked in a room with one.

I will say this though: watching an LP of this is nothing like really playing it in the dark alone with your speakers cranked up. You really have to immerse yourself to get really scared.

I found Amnesia to be pretty fucking scary, and even I didn't scream like that. I think there was one time where I flat out screamed (and it was out of surprise at a monster spawn. More of a knee-jerk shock reaction than actual fear). Most of it was just me whimpering pathetically and saying "Oh fuck I don't want to do this" over and over.
TL;DR This is probably the scariest, most atmospheric game I've ever played and I still think he's overreacting.

Dude, I'm a complete wuss who gets paranoid when he is alone in the house and I don't get that scared over Amnesia. I've freaking played Silent Hill 4 and seen several videos of the other ones as well as Fatal frame. Do that, it toughens you up, makes you into a man. Call me when you do. I'm playing Amnesia and it is not scary, to me its more nervewracking because you can't kill the monsters. Also the fact that you can't save without exiting is stupid, I love saving.

I love how everyone hypes up amnesia as being "SO SCARY" when it is, quite simply not. It's creepy, sure, but I was never like "Holy shit what the fuck man". Doom 3 is scarier than this... and that's not meant to be a complement. Well, it kinda is, but I know most people HAET Doom 3 with a passion, so I'm not gonna go there.
