  • LOL Jesus... was an idiot.

  • where did you study latin? thank you for sharing! It's helping me a lot with my A/L latin.. Virgil is a great epic poet so I'm sure you'll enjoy reading the text.. good luck with your project!

  • Great videos. Thanks.

  • Is the founding of rome described in the Aeneid, Virgil attempting to attach to rome, a glorious mythical past a bit like people who claim some famous ancestor as a form of reflected glory or is their any reason to think the legend is rooted in fact?

  • keep up the good work!

  • I am making all your videos, but especially the Aeneid, a part of my self teaching latin endeavors, along with "Learn to Read Latin" and "Lingua Latina". Thanks again for this project, I hope you enjoy doing it more knowing that it's greatly appreciated.

  • What is so great about the work why is it so necessary to read in latin?

  • excellent thank you

  • I will gladly join in your most excellent journey,. Looking forward to it!

  • OPVS MAGNIFICVM TVTVBE! :)

  • Brilliant idea and best of luck with the project. I think it's great that it will take 20 years. I really enjoyed the other videos and will be following this.

  • Hmm. Here at the beginning of your journey you show Virgil and Dante beginning their journey to hell. A wry comment on the scope of the labor? "With such difficulty did he translate and post the epic poem of the founding of the Roman race."

  • I'm kvelling. I am kvelling. Enjoying your Latin tutorials, I went looking for the Aeneid done the same way. Didn't find it two weeks or so ago; gave up, sat in the dark, knees drawn up, sobbing into pillow.

    And now here it is.

    SO looking forward to this.

    I'm kvelling.

  • Fantastic idea - I will be following along with great interest. Came across this after reading some reviews about Ursula le Guin's "Lavinia" and decided to pick up my copy of the Aeneid. Not knowing a single scrap of Latin, your videos will be a wonderful way to delve into the Aeneid. I'm looking forward to the journey... and the pace suits me well, even if it will be 20 years!

  • very helpful

  • thanks sir
