You can go to home depot and ask for some abs tubing. If not just buy them from ebay. There is a guy that sells them ready to mount and super cheap. Look up sushi drift.
hi mate set up on yours shocks more vertical or horizontal on front and back thanks and i find it that abs is good on smooth concrete and pvc on asphalt thanks!!
You're probably correct. If anything, the free runnig front wheels makes its harder to control. But i find with a locked front, the car tends to behave too unpredictably on a straight line with decent speed.
Well, a good and cheap way to start is a tamiya tt-01. You can start to Drift even with a stock motor on ABS/PVC tires. But a little hotter motor will give much better lines and curves. Once you have the grasp, you can lock the diff and it will natuarlly hang sideways when brake or accelerate.
What chassis are you running on? With a Standard Ball Diff, you can tighten the nut to max and lock the diff. Or on a Beval gear diff, you can try openning it and out Blue Tac inside to stop the counter motion. regards,Ed
Lots and lots of practice.:) lol. But do bare in mind that drift cars like to hook from one side to another. With that, look at the track as different circles, arcs. Hope this will help. :) Happy Drifting!!
thanks champ! allso if u wouldnt mind i have heard alot of different rumours for what tires to use. i mainly drift on bitchumen and was wondering what u recommend?
TL-01 is not the ideal car for drifting as there are too many gears and counter gears. It rides too rough and tends to stutter when cornering. To make it a better drifter, you can try to take the Diffs out, unscrew them and put Blue-Tak around the beval gears. That way, with the locked diff, it will drift better. As for Stock motor, it's best matched with PVC/ABS type tires only. But, that will not give good control on Rough asphalt.
you can also try RP-D Tires by Take-off. they will give you much better control on rough roads. For the high speed drift tires such as HPI Atype, Shimizu... It's not matched with you chassis and motor. Hope this help. :) lol
thanks man u been a huge help! been on a few forums and yeh its hard to find wat works and what dosnt but yeh ill give it a go and see what happens! thanks :)
No worries mate. If you ever have a chance or if you use Ebay, you might be able to sell your TL-01 and swap for a TT-01 which is a much better Tourer/Drifter at a minimal costs. If you get serious, a 19 turn or below motor is an essential. Happy Drifting!! :)
Thanks mate. Drifting takes a lot of practice and patience. Anticipation is just as important. Set the practice part aside, what car, set up do you have? Also, what tires and surfaces are you running? regards,Ed
