Some guitarists have talent and feeling but can get sloppy sometimes like Jimmy Page, some have amazing skills and technic but lack emotion like John Petrucci or Joe Satriani....and then there are a few who have everything....like Tuck
Looks like the same guitar he used on the other video on Youtube of him playing this song posted by glepha. In my opinion, while this version is good, it's a little sloppier than that one.
I used to be a rock and blues player but in the last 10 years or so I've got heavily into solo guitarists like this genius. How have I not heard of him before now? I feel so utterly ashamed of myself. This is just awesome stuff, I can NEVER get tired of watching such magic.
Tuck not only has amazing technique (like so many other great players) - but he uniquely "gets it" in terms of emotion and feeling. His playing transcends pure craftsmanship and lives in the realm of art and beauty.
And God looked down upon the Earth that He made, and saw man and woman. God said to Himself "Man and woman deserve beauty to be part of their lives on Earth". And so God created Carlos Santana and Tuck Andress, and the beauty of their music has enriched our lives here on Earth. Thanks to God !!!!!!!! Peace:-)
@binnyman in all seriousness though, god didn't make them so we could enjoy them... that would be making another person as a means to someone else's happiness... if god exists then he made us so that we could express ourselves through what we call art. thanks to tuck and santana for being able to express themselves and help us connect with each other, not thanks to god. thanks to god for making us able to enjoy this music.
and no, i don't believe in a creator, but just something i thought.
@edenmaze The playing is great. However, there is certainly plenty of "color" to his sound. He's employing a less-than-subtle tremolo effect, for one.
Carlos Santana - who also wrote this song - can. Though he is not as technically skilled as Tuck, who is faulous, Carlos has a fantastic signature tone and feel to every note he plays
See T&P just yesterday in Milan. Fantastic, recommended to everyone. Europa performance was amazing, better than the present, at the end I had to cry!!!!!
I am most honored that for some obscure reason, you have chosen to add me to your list of online friends. Is there some video you saw that I did that you actually liked?
You are without a doubt, one of the most amazing guitarists I have ever heard or seen.
For years... I have thought Joe Pass was one of the best of the best... I know he was... but what you have in your head and fingers shows a level of virtuosity and ease of technique that even he would have trouble matching.
Thumbs up if you want to strangle the 2 twits who clicked dislike? A truely remarkable guitarist!! Awesome Tuck

Direct connection to wood and strings... as an extension of ones self. Pure brilliance. Nothing short of it.

no body can get the sounds from that guitar like Tuck...Satriani called this dude his "Master ."

This is about as "Sanely Insane" as it gets.........
:~D
Just one of the REALLY cool things about this, is how his guitar is just simply plugged "straight in" to his amp. No effects.
It's "dry as a bone" yet it carries the weight of the 7 seas..........
Truly Awesome~
