@only1Roxannie With respect, every chef I have ever heard to speak about this, including many world-famous chefs, say specifically that the dough should be left to rest for at least 30 mins.
@THthefirst you don't have to put in fridge, i guess it's up to the individual, i use mine right away and it's fine, and the chefs on chopped and the other shows where they have little time don't let it rest either, but ty for your comment, have a nice day
You don't need a pasta machine. I just made fresh pasta without a machine and it seriously goes just as fast as when you use a machine. Just cut your pasta dough into some smaller pieces and then use a rolling pin to get them into whatever thickness you prefer.
@2001Rivera did you dry the pasta after you cut it? Homemade pasta needs to dry, I used coat hangers and let dry for almost a hour and came out perfect.
nice, i have an attachment for my pasta roller that cuts the pasta when i roll it thru, and the first time i used it it was a mess, but when i tried it with putting flour on the sheets between rolling helped soo much.
this is a great recipe! i had a medium egg so it was too much flour. then i added more flour (too much flour this time) lmao, so i had to add another egg. well, ya guessed it, to much egg. by the 3rd time i had the dough just right! it was really tasty, and kneading was a breeze with my cuisinart! i rolled it out and then cut it with a pasta cutter. i was effortless! that flour trick was just the thing to keep my pasta from sticking together! thanks so much for sharing!
try to cook less amount of time, no more than 2-3 minute to become Al dente, and after cooking, you can serve it right away, if not, toss with some olive oil would be a great helper.
how do you keep the pasta from sticking together after cooking? I made it and it came out wonderfully, but the pasta was clumped togerther...any advice?
I made this! And it turned out really, really good. One problem, by dough started to dry out (this was the 1st time I ever made pasta). So I rubbed some milk on the part that was waiting to go through the machine, covered it and put it in the fridge. As I said, it turned out really really really good. THANK YOU PASTA DUDE!
Great video dude for sure. Once I tried to make pasta it took me 3 hours and it was a mess. You really did do it in 5 minutes. I bet you were kicking yourself when you got through the whole video not realizing the food processor was blocking half the view. You should have told the lady talking in the background the whole time to be the camerawoman. LULZ.
Do you think i could do this (with another dish) for my catering exam? I have an hour and a half. I don't know what I'm doing for the other dish though :S
Wow! I have never had a pasta recipe actually go completely right from start to finish on the first try. It did take me more than 5 minutes, but it was still a reasonable amount of time. And the finished product was wonderful!
@foodomatic5000 Firstly, a cup is a volume measure, while Gram is a mass measure. So depending on how you handle the flour, a cup is not always the same even if you use the same measuring device.
Secondly, it also depends on what "cup" you use. "United States customary cup", "United States "legal" cup" or "Imperial cup". They all specify a different volume.
Dont you think its time to do as the rest of the world?
Fantastic video! I think we will have home made pasta tonight! I use to make pasta when I was a little girl with my Nonna, but this way looks far more simple!
What kind of flowers did you use there at the beginning? I tried daffodils but it didn't come out as well as I'd hoped.

Works perfectly, but press the buttons like he does. You must use a LARGE egg for 100 grams of flour. Otherwise lower the amount of flour.

Good work. The Michelin star guys here use 250g 'OO' flour, 3 egg yolks, 2 whole eggs, small amount of extra virgin olive oil and salt.
My only suggestion to your method is to cut the long sheet in half otherwise the strands will be a bit long.
