  • The M1 Jammed more than the k98 , only difference, else they are pritty much the same, just that all well almost all bolt action rifles are re-builds of the German Mauser.

  • um, you do know that the M1 garand is a semi-auto while the mauser is a bolt action rifle?

and also it is extremely difficult to jam a bolt action rifle, because bolt action rifles don't jam. where as teh only moving part is the firing pin, everything else is manuel.

  • @AngeloFeiertag

    @Alexn1067

Kar98k and M1 rifle the same? How? 8x57 Bolt action vs 7.62x63 semi auto. The M1 is a very rugged, reliable, accurate, safe, and soldier-friendly design. With the gas operation placed along the barrel right to the end, no parts move until the bullet has left the rifle. Both the M1 rifle and Kar98k can be disassembled without tools, both are very accurate and dependable designs, but they're entirely different firearms. I might add that bolt actions sometimes do jam.

  • What is the best quality of the mauser rifle in opposition with the m1 garant? I want to know about this question. Thanks

  • Im deer hunting this year with a 7mm mauser! its gona be sweet

  • i just bought one for 375$ =)

  • best rifle

  • why did you pull the rounds off the stripper clip to load?

  • my bad i missed the earlier comments.

i have a 1938 k98k and i have a problem with the bolt getting sticky after 60 shots or so. do you have any ideas on how i can fix that?

  • clean the chamber really well and take the bolt apart and clean it very well and what kind of ammo were you using?

  • Yeah I have done all that before. I am using some surplus ammo from the shooting range I go to. The recoil is pretty tough so maybe the rounds are hot.

  • well if the rounds are to hot then your going to want to look at the primer to see if they bulge after firing and what origin is the surplus?

  • I have no idea what the origin is. Its brass cased so I don't know. I haven't put much through it so maybe it needs to be loosened up again.

  • possibly some cosmoline heating up whens the last time you gave it a serious cleaning? also were you using laquer cased rounds? at times these can be problematic.

  • I cleaned it really well after I picked it up and right after the first trip to the range. It did seem to loosen up the 2nd time I shot it.

They were brass cased so it is not the lacquer.

  • haha thats what I was thinking.

  • its real, even with all the bitching and complaining, its a german Mauser no matter how much you all cry

  • sick i got that gun in airsoft. i wish i had one of them.

  • for the same price u coulda got a real one...

  • hes right, and a real one is alot more fun =)

  • i saw a fake one for 700 dollars o_0

ehhh ill just take the real one...

  • Yeah but in airsoft you can actually shoot people

  • haluuks sä turpaas. lopeta ismo

  • You are correct the stipper I was using was not the correct stripper for the k-98 and did fit properly in the reciever so I had to pull them off. A correct 98-k stripper will have 3 dimples on each side for those who may read this.

  • If I am looking correctly, why is the bolt white? .....Mitchell's Mauser I am guessing?

  • Actually this is an (RC) Russian Capture piece I did refinish the stock I know not a historian move but hey she looks a whole lot better.

  • agree with u there mine is Russian captured too and though when i restore it it may not be 100 percent accurate (neither is my enfield but hell if u saw it u wouldn't care cuz it always draws interest at the range) sometimes looks mean more

hows the Nazi stamps on yours? mine are actuality still quite clear, u can see the swastikas

  • @zachau Ugh.. PLEASE reblue the bolt. It's the correct finish, AND it will protect it better from rust. RC k98's are GREAT fun. I have a few also!

  • I haven't found anyone on YouTube yet that realizes you don't need to remove the stripper clip by hand. It pops clear when you push the bolt forward. Try it some time.

  • the caliber of the mauser standard k98 is 7.92!!!

  • theres actually 3 different "cousin" versions of that rifle. The K-98, M-48, and M-96. The laster of which has a slightly wider stripper clip than the two first guns which share identical versions. The difference being the K-98 is produced in Germany by Germans/forced labor, the M-48 was produced mainly in Czechoslovakia after the Germans were forced out by Soviet Armies.

  • Nice. I'm curious why you took the rounds off the stripper clip before loading them into the gun.

  • Good question the stripper I had the 8mm on was too large for the reciever. I think it was designed for the M96.
