  • got remembrance sunday tomorrow

need to make my shoe sup to standard

  • 4 army cadets people disliked this.

  • thanks for the tutorial, but I have several questions.

    1. May I know the difference between shoe past wax and shoe cream? I heard from my shoe vendor that you should apply both on your shoes, but I forgot which came first. As far as I remember, she said that applying shoe wax will make your shoes too dry and thus they would scuff overtime and so you need to moist them by applying shoe cream.

    2. If I accidentally step on mud, what should I do?

Thanks a lot, I'm not in any cadet btw ;)

  • @rtj182 1) Just use the KIWI shoe polish alone without anything else it will be more than enough to protect your shoes.

    2) If you step in mud, wash it off and dry then polish! :)

Hope this helps.. sorry for the delayed response

  • Aaaaaaand mute button.

  • @Tubadude888 I laughed out loud at your comment however you cannot argue the song's relevance!

  • thank you!! i needed to polish my shoe before i march tomorrow at a festival ^__^ im in air force ROTC!

  • i did this got my shoes really shiny even my co said they were amazing and then i was touching then up as i had a scuff and they went dull.

  • what squadron are you from

  • WOW..... i wish i had asked someone how to do this when i stared doing ROTC in school. i bet all the othr guys use a lighter.... but im afraid of fire.. so yeah.

  • Thumbs up if you're in AIR Cadets.

  • haha ''you'll only find AIR cadets on here as they are the only ones who care about uniform upkeeping!!''

Or is it because most AIR cadets can't polish their boots/shoe's in the first place ;)

  • @SophiiMitch It's only Air cadets because 1. An air cadet made the video 2. Do you expect people to know automatically how to polish shoes when they first join? 3. We do care more for our uniform ;)

Just sticking up for air cadets no hard feelings ;P

  • thanks for this video :) i did theese steps over and over again for a few days and it turned out great :)

  • thnx ps im a jamaican cadet

  • here a better way is to 'spoon it' this gives it 1 year worth of polish is just a few minites check my channel to find out more

  • Patience?! Have a little PATIENCE?! Let's get Take That to polish some parade shoes!! Mwaha. Score. >:D (H)

  • i just joined atc and didnt know much about polishing shoes so thanks for the video really informative

  • i put medium amount of kiwi on my shoes then i buff it... am i doing it wrong? it comes out shiny enough to see your silhouette

  • hey im in army and i think that most of the people in our core keep up with their uniform. what i think is that air and army have the best kept uniform and best looking uniform. no offense to any of the sea cadets. Anyways the song works great with the video and this helps a lot

  • @MrJtam Thankyou and agreed!

  • @MrJtam - That is the only way to bull shoes properly, but you need to apply a little more polish to your cloth and work it in to build up the initial layers. Don't be afraid to spit on them either - "spit and polish". A good quality polish is also required "Kiwi Parade Gloss".

  • hey im in army but i still think that everyone in my core keeps up with their uniform. Army and air keep their uniform neat and tidy thats what i think.

  • just use hairspray polish ur shoes as shiny as possable and spray on hairspray wait to dry walla thumbs up if you agree or like

  • @jamesgimson naa, dont take shortcuts - do it properly! :)

  • @jamesgimson until it gets wet and then your f**ked

  • can you shine all kinds of leather?

  • you dont use insta shine to your shoe it will make it dull u have to use the older shoe polish.....to anwser most of your questions.

  • Thanks for this, but I have a question.

Before I just rubbed the polishing thing all over my shoes for an insta-shine, and then my shoes went dull after I tried your method. Will the shine return if I do it long enough?

  • @retardednazi yes keep working on them, plenty of layers :) This method does not get you an instant shine!!

  • I do that but my shoes don't go glassy shiny, I reckon its because my shoes have had a long life and have been through sun, dust and small scuffs

  • @mynameisnotearl3 you have to work on them for weeks before you see the 'mirror shine' won't just happen after one go - unfortunutely

  • @gazajenks I know, i've been working on mine for 2 years now like that once a week and it appears that they're shine is dying :(

  • What brand shoes are those?

They do not look like Bates. They seem to have leather inside.

  • cool, thanks for uploading

  • thanks for the info ive just been enroled at air cadets and its my first night in uniform

and just polishing my shoes and they wouldent shine but now they are so thanks

  • ha perfectly fitting song

  • ha, perfectly fitting song for this

  • I like this video I'll share it with my fellow explorers

  • For everyone here. DO NOT BUY CHEAP SINTHETIC SHOES AND EXPECT TO SHINE THEM UP WELL. It does not work at all. I've spent literally weeks trying to shine them up. They have seen every method, I've done it by the book I've used both parade gloss and regular. It does not work well at all. Make sure you buy leather. Leather actually holds a shine well. Mine have a shiney appearence but they for sure are not mirrors.

  • nice song to go with a great guide. good job

  • @GC1031 lots of layer of polish but if the crack goes all the way through then new shoes :)

  • what rank are you

  • great method, it always works for me. im a corporal in the atc, and polish my shoes for 2 hours altogether

  • im in air cadets :D what rank are you?

  • is kiwi black parade gloss good for it?

    504 sqn all the way!

  • hey u mist a spot jk did good thanks

    PFC Winkle

  • Take a piece of cotton wool, soak in water and sqeeze out the excess water (don't want it too wet). Now wipe it in the shoe polish, you only want a LITTLE bit on your cotton wool. Polish the boot/shoe in little circles until the polish has been worked in. Repeat until the required level of shine is reached. For a new shoe/boot this will take a while as the layers are built up, do NOT use parade gloss at this stage.

  • @Softwareseeker that how i do it

  • Whats with all the air cadets? I'm 94 squadron btw

  • @pwn576 you'll only find AIR cadets on here as they are the only ones who care about uniform upkeeping!!

  • some tips; do not melt with lighter cause shoe pollish and gloss contains parrafin witch is poisness, best way to do it is instead os uuseing spit, cold water use hot water from the kettle but care ful not to burn your self im in the air cadets two and i;ve got shiniyer shoes then my co and he uses shape up from cadet direct lol

  • Good to see youth still know how to spit shine their shoes, you should wear your like this always and not just for your parade shoes or boots.

Which country are you from ?, cause Canadian cadets don't wear naval oxford shoes.

  • im in air cadets just enrolled and one of my parade shoes is really shiny but the other just wont shine, any help here !!

  • @sean3981 use a lighter to melt the polish into the shoe and then use a waterlogged ball of cotton wool on the melted polish for 5 - 10 mins

  • @sean3981 kl what sqdrn i enrolled about a month ago im in 1159

  • @iamiSniipezxX im in the 888

  • @sean3981 same thing happened to me but im too scared to use the fire way

  • thanks for the help i am in Air cadets ass well 1192 kirkcaldy squadron

  • which is better parade gloss or black polish?

  • @acecombatfan438 KIWI Black not the gloss

  • @gazajenks okay its just ma mate said just use gloss only n its better

  • brilliant! this really helped thanks. Im in the air cadets too. which squadron are you from?

  • @sam83379 They are my parade shoes that i use in air cadets.. they have to be polished to a mirror shine and i got them from Cadet Direct..

  • cheers m8

  • good guy helps people polish and keeps up with his comments

  • is using cotton balls ok?

  • @0mGItzAnINjA - Yes cotton wool works well also.

  • Oh, I love to watch a man polish his shoes...

  • Are you suppose to rub the shoes with a lot of force ? with Polish

  • @xjovan not really just apply with some pressure...

  • Thanks for taking the time to make this video. I have always wanted to know how to get a mirror shine on my shoes. I feel that the state of one's shoes show something of the state one's mind

  • how long do you keep rubbing gently before taking a new dose of polish to the cloth?

  • No certain time just until you think you have worked it in long enough..

  • thanks man. helps a lot to me.

  • do you use the kiwi polish? I have never polished shoes my entire life so I am new to this. I was wondering will this work for BDU (Battle Dressed Uniform) Boots?

  • yeah this all helps but what if your shoes look ruff to touch but there not please help!

  • Loads of Polish (thick layer) and polish the surface of the POLISH not the shoe with pleanty of water :)

  • awesome tip, my boots are lookin real nice!

  • Woah! This method is awesome! My Sergeant nearly kissed me when he saw my shoes, we had a senior officer visiting. :) Thank you!

  • great....thx alot

  • i have been doing this method for about 5 hours now and have results like no other!i do my shoe's ALOT lol and it bugged me that i would spend hours doing it and only get that little bit more of a shine than before, but this method is amazing, and my shoe's have a mirror shine :) xxx THANK YOU

  • wow-i have been polishing for a while the way i was instructed to by a leading cadets, which has given me a slowly built good shine, and my shoe's are getting there, but this has given me triple the shine in half an hour!wow great thanks!

  • this is brillient ive been polishing all day, ive tried it with cotton buds, old rag, yellow cloth an all the same lol no shine well a little but then i tried this an within 2minutes i had a shine like no other thanks m8 :D

  • lol... shiny ass

  • this help

  • thats a good method but you have to work it

  • cotton buds are better, also if you run it under a tap for a few seconds then squeeze all the water out then do 3 runs round a tin of Kiwi Prestige Parade Gloss and continue until you can literally see every detail of your own face in it

  • afterwards to make it better you can use the cloth to buff, take a clean bit of the cloth and do a side to side motion with the cloth, the faster you go the better the shine!

  • i have to polish my cadets shoes now , i just use cotton wool nd kiwi parade glosslol.

  • when you go on camp its hardest! i just came of one yesterday!
