The first part of the theme reminds me of the music that plays during the Conker's Bad Fur Day intro, when he's sitting in the chair if anyone knows what I'm talking about.
Check out the other "new tristram" music... You can hear it in the BEta aswell... WHile I didn't hear this Music in this video... So be open for d3 generally.
Wow, this is just amazing. To all the people that whine about the music, saying that "This isn't Tristrams theme!", you are right, this is the theme for New Tristram! Time has passed and I think this new theme makes it perfectly clear. Tristrams core is still intact, but there's little left of what it was in Diablo 1 and 2.
I just can't understand you people that doesn't understand how awesome this is. It's unjust to make comparisons between this and the original. The original's been burned into our minds, constantly playing in our heads when we see Diablo 3 content. What you have to understand that this is how Tristram is on Diablo 3. Like the story, the settings have changed as well so the Tristram that we knew back in the day needs new theme. This is perfect for it!
@Mastermind19871987 This is so the music fits whats happening the screen. They have said that if you encounter a monster, a quest or whatever the music changes as well. BUT.. This doesnt matter anymore since they have CHANGED the theme of New Tristram.. YouTube it and you will find the newer version.
The new tristram music has no soul. The original score had depth, whereas this simply just lacks musicality, has generic tones and overall is boring. I wouldn't call it cliche epic music, but this definitely won't be a cherished blizzard piece for me.
Can't wait to hear the illogical combat sounds in the final product.
No way screw this. Its too much of a tease of the old stuff. There will be like 5 or 6 notes from the original score and then some more overly theatrical crap. Just making me want to go listen to the original. Maybe i can just replace the music files in the game.....
@MoonTrigger1 How does it show ? :S Nostalgia has nothing to do with it. This theme is so much inferior to the original it's not comparable in any way.
Am i the only one here who actually likes it? Coming from someone who actually played Diablo 1 and 2,This sounds pretty damn good.Way more atmospheric than i thought it would be.
This is perfect. It fits the universe, the atmosphere and the setting of the much darker, more sinister and brutal tone that is Diablo 3. Diablo 2 music was good for it's time and style, but it wouldn't fit into a diablo 3 setting. Blizzard is taking Diablo 3 alot more seriously, alot more mature and dark tone.. playing on creepy eerieness and seriousness of the lore... the music fits perfectly :)
Omg, I've waited 11 years for this, I think I can't wait another 3-4 months until release, I NEED THIS NOW!111 For god's sake it's gonna be so epic all that call of duty hype will be shit compared to D3 launch :DDD
@zompi2 Mat Uelmen is not the composer. He rater joined Runic Games and made the soundtrack for Torchlight which is, in my opinion, far more better then this. Matt Uelmen left Blizzard after the closing of Blizzard North.
To be quite frank, I was concerned the music direction in D3 would be the suckiest out of all Diablo games, but having only hearing this single track so far, I can personally say I have faith that D3 music, at the very least, will not disappoint; at the very most, live up to its D1 predecessor.
It is actually fantastic...we all love the old theme duhhhhh but this is a great step in the right direction of being in a new world of fear. So pumped...
@Prosthesy no I said I could live with it hehe I guess I just need to get used to it, because there´s no chance in hell or rather inferno, that i´ll miss 3d :d
while it feels quite different from the music of D1 & D2 it doesn't stray very far from them... i almost like it more than the original tristram song, overall really creepy
I wasn't expecting this to be as good, but if you calm down and think about it, it's very well done while still imitating the style of the original.

@aranock well, it is meant to be the music for a dungeon instead of a town. a pretty dead dungeon too.

The original isn't better. It's nostalgic. Don't confuse the two feelings.
Things have to change ffs...people have so much trouble with change.
