  • i learn even by reading exchange of comments here.

JPol aka theFro is THE man!!

  • Is there a new Canon EF 400 F5.6L ii USM or it is IS? You only say it is a 400mm F5.6 wich already exists, so I am not sure. I really appreciate your show! I don't have time to watch it live, but I watch them on Youtube.

  • Im looking to get a new body. Jared and Greg, Canon 7d or Nikon D7000. Honestly leaning towards 7d at the moment because of video capabilities. But which do you think is better in low light?

  • i'm a beginner but i really thought that the more mega pixels on the camera that it would improve clarity of the image? when ive bought camera's in the past ive used the megapixels as a guide. So ive been wrong this whole time??

  • @gdw22 Well, you can't really generalize it by saying more mps decrease the quality of an image. It depends on the sensor. Smaller sensors which are usually built in pocket cameras aren't really able to handle really much mps. That's why it's not recommended to buy a minicamera with like +12mp.

At least this is what I've been reading in many forums.

  • Cropping reminds me about someone with a Canon 5D Mark ll (w/c is a full frame 21 mp DSLR) in which he shoots portraits on studio BUT he don't compose his image through the lens. He just shoots full-body of a subject using 24-70mm lens and doesn't mind even if the background & light stands, flash's wires & extensions is in the photo. He said he will just crop it away in Photoshop. And his reason was it's bec it's a 21mp camera. That way, it's a waste of time and unprofessional.

  • is it really a contest or just a random drawing? wouldn't a contest warrant some sort of notable feat to win something? just giving you guys a hard time.

  • I live in Florida. What part were you in? There was a banner ad I saw while driving advertising a Bridal show in West Palm Beach where I live, was that where you were. Would have been great if I knew so I could have met you.

  • Not everyone can afford high end lenses. Sure better glass is nice, but when you can't afford it you just can't buy expensive equipment. More people will watch your videos if you start talking for low budget photographers too.

  • @MrVag13 To respond to this i fully push and recommend a lens like a 35 1.8mm which is only $200 and the canon 50 1.8 which is even less.

  • where's the link on the book? cant wait...

  • great job guys, getting smoother already ,

  • if you use a Mac, you can actually do some decent color adjustment to a RAW file using Preview, too. i used it before i got lightroom

  • Nice intro song

  • @jogbird

the longer the fro show the better!

  • Where is the song ?

  • Jared, why do you raise your apperature to f/3.2-4 when you shoot 8000 iso?

  • why are you in florida?

  • you should break up your videos into segments for easy consumption and ad impressions if you have that enabled, at least list the segment breaks in the description, also tell us what the show is about... list the topics, not many people are going to watch 60 minute shows on youtube

  • I would like to know in what situation would you need to use 8 lights. I would think all situations would call for 4 at the most. That would cover all angles would it not?

  • "who r u?" "who am i? i forget" :D:D:D

  • Another great video guys, getting better as the days go by. Jared, let Greg talk, he knows what he is talking about as well.....

  • what do u mean 400mm 5.6 L rumour? I have one lol

  • @KElson992 Probably omitted the "IS"? It is rumoured that an IS version is being released some time soon.. but its just a rumour.

  • Comment removed

  • Hmm, I pretty sure there were an 80s-90s song similar to the intro/theme song. Just can't remember what it was. Any idea?

  • seems like the froshow is coming together quit nicely guys.

  • I'm also anti cropping.. I rarely crop

  • nice song

I just bought one of those rockets because I had dirt inside my camera that was on my images, now they're not specs on my camera :)

  • Hey Gents. loved the discussion about primes.

question, what about a prime trinity??

Concidering that I would like to mainly be about concerts/events/weddings/formal events, - some say the prime trinity is something like 35/85/135.

thanks for your thoughts, you guys get soooo many questions!! :)

  • hat too small for gregs head

  • I thought Prime are cheaper because there less complicated to build compared to zooms. You can get a Canon 50mm f/1.8 for only 100 Dollars.

  • @lenoat702 the 50 1.8 feels really cheap and plastic. Get the 50 1.4 it's way better though twice as expensive.

  • Primes are better for quality and sharpness since u have less glass elements

  • I want to here Nikon vs Tamron great reviews on tamron so I rented a tamron for a concert I did and i performed great!!!!!!

  • But there has been a Canon EF 400mm f/5.6 USM for years now for about $1,275 at B&H?

  • nikon should pay you guys. your selling their stuff.

  • Thank you once again and DO WANT MORE !

  • Dude! RAW conversion is built into Mac OS X. Even Preview. Will open and edit NEF files. Dude! Aperture beats Lightroom.....Discuss.

  • Jesus! That song is carchy!!!!

  • cropping is for cheats

  • @hcoll the song is awesome!

  • Jared! Dude! Don't conflate cropping with creative trimming. Dude! Are you saying every perfect composition of every subject you shoot is found only within a 2:3 aspect ratio? Dude! Work with me here.

  • @kentak47 not at all ,i said during the show that if you have something in mind for the shot and its not in the 2:3 than go for it by all means. Like square or pano def go for it.

  • Must have taken years to export and upload...how long did it take?

  • @ShakeAndBakeGuy 9gigs about 4 hours total

  • Not digging the song....

  • GO CANADA GO

  • Podcast is ready, just subscribe from the page listed.

  • Great show! It's 3:30am in the UK and I'm still watching this awesome show!

  • "Just roll forward"

  • loving the intro music braw

  • Good show.

  • lack of patience J ;(((

  • if you got someone in to talk the technical jargon of lenses, itd probably help me on my physics exam coming up :)

  • Let Greg Talk!!!

  • Loving the show. Don't get to watch it live but always catch on YouTube. Please keep'm coming.

  • Great Show, cool reviews. Someday when you have time, can you review some Compact Flash cards. Thank you and best regards from Argentina.

  • Re:- Comments on the Holy or Hebrew Trinity.

For those of us who are happy to stick with aps-c format there is a lot of sense in buying DX lenses for their saving in weight and cost. It is now possible to have a DX f2.8 "Hebrew Trinity" with a Tokina 11- 16mm, Tamron or Sigma 17-50mm OS (VR) and the soon to be released Sigma 50-150mm HSM OS (VR). For macro I also stay DX with the Nikon 85mm Micro - really light & compact - f3.5 no problem as 1:1 stopped down on all macros at f5.6 anyway.

  • Thank you Jared , Thank you Greg ... You guys are my inspiration and motivation ! Keep filling my head with knowledge . It is fun ...

Every day with your videos is another day with inspiration !

  • love watching the show!

  • I can imagine carrying my 550d around with that giant lens attached to it XD

  • Greg I missed your "Hello Hello"...

  • no link yet for the podcast, I would love listen than wait for streaming of the 1 hr show with a very slow net connection.

  • @1986Chaitanya You can download the MP3 from the RSS feed on the site

How slow is your internet? The video is only like 1.3gb in 1080p. That only takes me like 15min to download @ 1.5MB/sec.

  • heck yesssss

  • Great show! Would be great to see a Tip of the week section at the end of your video's.

  • Great show! Would be great to see a Tip of the week section at the end of your video's.

  • i live in florida! what city are you in and what for?

  • congrats to your 444th show!

  • Jared, this is the best idea ever! LOVEE THE SHOW!! <3

  • Jared, do you recommend the 35 f/1.8 or the 50 f/1.8? or is it pretty much based on personal preference and shooting style??

  • @DrushProductionz DX go for the 35, FX go for the 50.

  • @ithree6mafia what about 35 f/1.8 vs 50 f/1.4?

  • I would just like to say thank you Jared, I have learned SO much from your videos!

  • Great Show!
