  • No key ignition to start. Just a kill switch to shut the engine down, or decompress to stop the engine. The key lock on top of the fork is a fork lock.

  • is there a key ignition?

  • You are right but in order to show the procedure I needed the moped in one spot. The camera was on the tripod. I usually discourage people from starting the ped on the stand.

In my forty five years of riding I have never destroyed one.

I can do it since I'm careful and only 158 lbs. But I have seen totally bent stands. Older mopeds used to have much sturdier stand made of steel not pressed ones.

Thanks for the comment, keep on mopeding.

  • I wouldn't stand on it and peddle, the last owner of mine did that and the centerstand was bent flat. I I just walk with it a few feet and it starts. I had a lot of fun trying to find a replacement stand in decent shape.

  • Same colour as mine! just lovely! (from Portugal!)

  • i got a 30mph '79 50v as a freebie basement find!

  • You can install the 15/15 sha Dellorto as a replacement.Make sure to buy the # 59 jet size. the carb comes with the # 68 jet which is too big.

  • That's a 1979 50V. After January 1 1978, Motobecane converted all models from 6 Volts system to 12 volts lighting system. The ignition remained the same at 6 volts.

  • nice mobylette i have a 1980 moby

  • lol, good video

what I liked the most was the combination of the leather jacket, the baggy pants and the sandals!!

  • very very very thanks.

in the 1975 (9 years old) I usually take the blue motobecane mobylette of my dad (when he was out of house of course). The noise of this motorbike is like a music from me

  • ive got one. But mine dosent start very well

  • howdi a few years ago when i wos a kid my mad cousin built a big remote controlled plane with an engine outa one of these it wo cool

  • nice very nive thank

  • Excellent video - 10/10

    Very interesting, very nice machine.

  • i donno how you call it but maybe its the choke switch, do i have to push it when i start the moped ? i have an very old moped, and i dont have a manual so i need, to understand by myself how it work, the valve i said covers the air intake 80% i read you need to do it when you start the moped, so the engine would start right? and tell me how can i clean the cylinder from the burned slug on it ? use some oven cleaner ?

  • Just a silly question, do u hav to chain dis up or anybody can jus steal it?

  • Yes this is a silly question. Two-socks ,Moby ,Molly and Sahnook would gladly chew on your ass to discourage wise guys

  • I always chain it to a pole and never out of sight. That thing would disappear faster than you can say, Babaloo! At home I do not have to secure it, see my prior posting

  • yeah they will disappear fast because i have a 1976 and it was stolen a few times in the same month because i would let it sit on my front porch and hope no one takes it but they do... im trying to find out the value of my 1976 it's 33 years old..

  • nice nice.. very nice
