  • Killin it.

  • I don't know if it's the small stage or not but Tina and the girls are SUBDUED here. They could rock this song out when they wanted to!

  • @IrisMG o h beleive me it's that stage!!:)

  • Who has leggs and who has that voice still, Tina.........

  • Dang they always used to run out of fabric when making dresses back then, happened to me a lot too. My gma was a professional seamstress and made some groovy clothes for me but there was never enough fabric for a hem past your crotch, lol. :)

  • tinas a bad bitch boy

  • say what you want about ike as a person, but you cant knock the man's talent

  • Tina was great as always.

  • tina had beautiful hair and beautiful legs

  • @issentidu aah) she had beautiful wigs)

  • @wwwcomunicative I don't think so

  • @issentidu Believe, it is all wig baby) nobody has seen tina with her real hair in any kind of video. that's stated. in 1960 ike got her to bleach her hair at the times they were not big and had no exposure. and she's lost it. she left bald and had to put on a wig. and she never gave it up by today.

  • @wwwcomunicative ok maybe you're more informed than me......

  • @wwwcomunicative omg u wanna she her real hair i would show u i have pics

heheh great song, great performance tina!

  • yes higher and higher in the universe ~ come and we make a take of ~ tina is simply the best ~ she makes still acts and very good performances ~ have a good time ~ ana josea.~´¨*́♫¨`ٰ  ♥

  • Can someone please bring back the Black talent of the 50's, 60's, 70's and 80's? I'm so glad that I was born in a decade of *REAL* talent, but where have they gone? Aretha was (and is) the Queen of Soul, but you know by this video that Tina is the Queen of Rock-Infused Funk/Soul.

  • After about the first 30 seconds, you can see their great reaction to the dancers, that really brought up the tempo, and allow Tina to release in that last few seconds. She and ike were great at that point.

  • Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm!

  • Great Tina as always, but, IKE can really "smoke".

  • Doesn't matter if she wrote it or not. Sometimes you have people who write great songs, sometimes you have people who give great performances. Tina gave great performances, whether she wrote the tune or not. Hall of Fame material no question. When someone makes you feel a song like this (the band was great too) they've delivered the goods. Sly's version is almost untouchable, but Tina could make you think about it. She's one of the all time greats.

  • Ike and Tina were fucking SMOKIN" ! Natural born talent...It doen't get more real than that !

  • SLY and THE FAMILY STONE performed this song(the original version) LIVE ON SOUL TRAIN..

1 MAJOR DIFFERENCE N LIVE ACTS IS ALWAYS VERY VISIBLE.

N the '50s-'70s and even probably BEFORE THEN ,NO MATTER THE GENRE OF MUSIC--musicians could play, singers sould sing BUT U HAD TO DO IT LIVE SHOW AFTER SHOW !!

Touring was how they made money and even acts that had only a few hits COULD SELLOUT SHOWS BCUZ NO MATTER WHAT THEY COULD DAZZLE CROWDS w/TALENT AND PEFORMANCES !

U couldnt fake it back then

  • Great cover.

  • she was fucking hot those days!!!!!! :)

  • @zolf1988 still is!

  • Absolutely one of the most exciting acts ever to perform on stage. Ike Tina and the band's performances are legendary. Thanks to you tube everyone can see that the legends did not exaggerate thier the excitment they generated and still generate when we see the performances.

  • Absolutely

  • walerswalk take my advice go get laid and stop hating.

  • Daa-yum! Even white boys got ta shout!

  • what a woman!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Nutbush City Limits was written by Tina.

  • gin house out house oh nutbush nutbush city limits!!!!!!

  • Tina Turner wrote a number of songs, but Ike would never accept them. That's why "NUTBUSH" was so special because he took her song and did not make her sing it over and over again. Which is strange because in the movie, he has her singing it over and over and then beats her. THAT DID NOT HAPPEN.

Ike Turner was a very tough man and wanted this his way. thats why Ike and Tina never really had any hits. they were offered a spot on MOTOWN. Ike refused.

Tina's biggest hits are covers though.

  • Where are you getting your information? Just curious? Was that in her book: I, Tina?

  • The informations he provided is true, among the hits Tina Turner wrote were "Up in heah", "Nutbush city limits" "Sweet Rhode Island Red" as well as cowriting the Duo's Swan pop chart hit "Baby get it on" she also wrote the Gospel song from their "Outta season" album, "I'm a motherless child"

  • @TinaPhanatic - Tina has written some amazing songs. Sometimes she and Ike used different names for the song credit. Look up Tina Turner - I feel like a motherless child. She wrote the song and it's incredible. She wrote lots of other great songs, some of which were hits.

  • groovy baby! tdamn, they dont make em like this any more, i wanna go back in time and join that band on bass ; )

  • u beta put some stank on it"ike"

  • Go and watch the original -- Sly and the Family Stone singing "Higher" at Woodstock. Fantastic. Tina is the only one who comes close to doing it justice.

  • universalradio:

I agree. Tina Turner could rock anything she wanted to, then and now. She covered everything from Muddy Waters to The Beatles to Rober Palmer, and with incomparable flair. People who were young in the 70's had great funk and hard rock performed by singers who could actually PLAY the instruments. That generation had "Soul Train", mine had "Solid Gold" and MTV. Thank God for youtube.

  • When I was 17 or so I had a navy A-line dress like that, navy blue with tiny polkadots . . . and the collar was white, pointed, and the points came all the way down so they were even with the hem. Hem came just high enough to cover my butt and a few inches more over the thighs.

Wore it with navy blue stockings, and black suede lace-up sandals that laced to the knees. Had hair down to my butt. lol!! Over that -- dark long suede maxi coat with white curly goat-fur collar and trim. VERY funky.

  • Tina was wearing hotpants. They were in style, and great for tall women. They're not so popular now with the prevalence of very fat teenagers and women - everyone was skinny back then. I wore them when I was 19 or 20 -- and I wore skirts and dresses very short, although not that short without wearing hot pants (dress shorts) under them.

They've got hotpants under the dresses - so no big deal. Nothing revealed except leg.

  • damn she had a body, she's okay in singing but she is a great performer.

  • She's an amazing singer, she might not sing too many ballads but this woman is incredible. Singer, Dancer, entertainer.

  • I think I just found the best video on YouTube. 10 stars out of 5!

How many people in the band anyway? It's like they don't all fit on the screen!

  • WOW SO POWERFUL!!

  • Amazing.

  • u r fine i titally understand where u was coming but sometimes i go overboard sorry

  • the reason is because u all act like tina had a choice in what to wear and I am a teenager and trust me I have seen worst. Ig u want to blame someone blame Ike. They don't look like hore 2 me go look at britney vids. I am not mad at u either I have no reason to be lol I just hate when people do that.

  • Don't sweat it, I thought she was dressed well, people are either hating cause they couldn't get away wearing this stuff or they could never get a woman this hawt.

  • u need some damn help

  • fuck u

  • dumbass

  • AAWW' what the hell' I will rip off my shirt and party my ass off' she likes it'

  • she is a legend and the legend will return to the stage I was just reading an article somewhere tina may be coming back on tour after eight years. I hope she can still keep up the energy she once had.

  • Tina is in a league of her own. She still has it today as well......at 68

  • Boom Shaka Laka! Boom Shaka laka!!! Loves it!! Tina still has the energy of a mad woman. Beyonce, couldn't BUY this talent!!!

  • if theres anyone else who could even touch the raw talent of sly stone, its tina turner

  • No one can touch her. If anyone says there's been a female that could perform live better than Tina has never seen Tina. We're witnessing a hurricane in action!
