@UKRAINERULES253 Theres plenty of space to work on the bulb without taking out the headlight. removing the headlight normally requires you to remove the bumper.
@suicidejocke1 This Install Video shows the more simple Single Beam Install. Check out the XenonSupply Channel and watch the BI-Xenon Honda Civic Install video. This one shows how to install for both the low beam and high beam
@gq13087 Is this a XenonSupply purchase? Please email Help(at)XenonSupply(dot) com with your sales order number and we will be able to verify your purchase with your vehicle year, make and model.
@DizNBoiAz If this is a XenonSupply HID kit then likely the blue wire is the positive wire and the black wire is the ground wire. Is this for the Honda Civic? Id forward your vehicle specific questions to Help(at)XenonSupply(dot)com for better support.
@DizNBoiAz You can electrical tape the Driver Side connector that is left unused by the bi-xenon wiring harness. Not a requirement but a good safety measure.
If you have additional questions please let us know at Help(at)XenonSupply(dot)com.
@xVxRayJohnathaNxVx Not all kits use the same wires or same colors. You will need to test them each way to see which way works. XenonSupply kits have polarity protection in case they are plugged in incorrectly. We cannot say the same for other kits.
@Masoud118 What vehicle are you attempting to install HID's in with DRL? There is no DRL for the Honda Civic until the 2006 model and that is on the high beam.
@Masoud118 Please direct your inquiry to Help(at)XenonSupply(dot)com and we will be able to assist you futher. Please clarify in your response your DRL issue as we dont understand the exact problem you are having.
@brickwester You can purchase from XenonSupply(dot)com or email us at Help(at)XenonSupply(dot)com and we will gladly link you to the product shown in the video
I bought a kit for my girl friends 00' Civic. I have HIDs for my truck and it was pretty simple to install, but I was wondering. Is the relay harness mandatory? Like will the kit not work without it. I bought them through DDM tuning, a Civic owner recommended them and I didn't buy the harness.
@XenonSupply Thanks for the reply. Yea I installed them for my girl friends civic and she has 8000k low beams but no high beams. It doesn't really matter becuase the 8000k are so bright that you don't really need high beams and by the time your high beams heat up you don't need them any more. Its just nice to have. It feels weird riding around with just low beams.
Great DIY thanks. One question, What is the best way to secure the leads into the stock harness? They just kinda sit there, I don't want water or vibration to cause the leads to come out of the connector. Should I just wrap them with electrical tape?
@BLUEMIU Electrical tape is a good way to seal up the connection. Silicon glue can be used but is messy and can be a pain to work with when it comes time to replace or modify the connection.
@thepandavlog Hi, is this a XenonSupply kit? There should be a 3 prong connector from the wiring harness that goes back to the factory connector and is normally a very tight fit. Please email us at Help(at)XenonSupply(dot)com with your order number and we will be able to review in more detail.
@thepandavlog same as mine. what i did is i took the housing off and sodered the wires that go from the bulb to the wiring that goes to the original housing.
@RainingSushi You should put the Rubber donut back on as it prevents dust and debris from getting into the headlight housing. You should route the wires through prior to Installing the HID's so youcan put them back on easily. You do not have to have them put back on, but it is a good recommendation and helps to extend the life of your HID system as well as headlight housing.
@05forshow How you mount the ballast is a matter of personal preference. Using the Mounting brackets in this case just gives us some extra holes to route the zip ties through and makes it a bit more stable. Hope your install went well!
i have a h3 3000k hid kit for my 98 civic yellow fog lights that are not installed yet.. how would i put the HIDs in them?.and would i do it before or after i install the foglights to my car?
no, a single beam kit does not require the relay or additional harness. If you want the bi-xenon kit, which has both high beam and low beam, you will need to install the harness. There is a bi-xenon version of this video install on this channel as well.
I'm looking at other tutorials.. and I'm seeing that you didn't plug anything onto the battery from the ballast but others did. So are you showing that Civic HIDs only run off the power from the stock power harness?
Only the Bi-Xenon Kit requires a wiring harness going directly to the battery. This installation shows the single beam installation. We will be creating a Civic Bi-xenon installation video soon, but in the meantime, you can view the Honda Element Bi-Xenon install video, as it is very similar
Thank you for clarifying. I researched and what you plug onto the battery is a relay harness. So the single beam you are installing in the video works completely fine without the relay harness? I heard you can short your stock harness since some cannot handle the wattage/voltage going through the wire.
That may be true for older style ballasts that draw more than 10-15amps on startup(~5 years ago), but our HID's have a reduced max amp draw of 7amps which is well within the recommended draw of your stock wiring.
We will be creating a Bi-Xenon installation video for the Honda Civic in the next few weeks! In the mean time, the Honda Element Bo-Xenon video is a very similar installation and can be used as a guide on the Civics.
yes, you will need to unlock the bulb from its base by twisting it into the unlock position. this will allow you to insert the rubber shroud. There is already one pressure seal from the bulb but having the rubber shroud is an extra protective measure that should be taken.
This video uses the Single Beam kit and loses high beam function.
The Bi-Xenon kit is available for purchase from XenonSupply and will keep high beam functionality. A video will be posted in the future showing this installation. If you need additional information or purchasing help, please let me know.
Hello, I have a pair of Halo headlights on my 01 civic. Are these compatable with the halo headlights? Since my low beams are housed in a kind of curved glass, how will it affect the light dispersion?
Yes they are compatible. The only thing different will be the type of HID kit you purchase. The bulb type will be different as you no longer have stock headlight housings on your civic. The light dispersion will actually be better and brighter as HID's are intended for Projector lenses(curved glass) to reduce glare. If you need help just send me a message
This HID Kit significantly brightens your headlights and improves visibility. HID Lights typically only come as factory options on Luxury Vehicles like Lexus, Audi, Mercedes, BMW, but with this kit, you can have them on any car!
please answer but wouldnt it be easier to take out the headlight to put in the bulb
