Hmmm well lets take this guy to the track and put a real driver in his car who doesnt hit the rev limiter during his shifts...also, he rode the clutch in second gear if you listen closely, you lose about a half a second each time you smack the rev limiter like that. Which means someone driving the same car who doesnt hit the rev limiter can beat him by 1.5 - 2 seconds in a drag.

again hitting the rev limiter in a 3rd 4th 5th gear is not smart, but doing so in a 1st the 2nd shift (unless you have a perfectly good grip and you are not spining at all) is smart, ive done it a million times just to prove it.just do it yourself the next time you drive a stick. rev high in neutral, select 1st gear, release the clutch (to make sure that you spin and avoid stall) and shift before the revlimiter.your engine will stall.

Are you talking about launching the car? If that's the case then you're an idiot. Launching at the rev limiter is reckless. You make LESS POWER than you would by launching lower. The best and most beneficial way to launch is at your car's max torque...example...acura integra ls makes max torque at 5200 rpm...my friend has one and makes better times when he feathers at 5200 instead of launching at redline. He's about half a second quicker in first gear, which makes a huge difference.

hitting the revlimiter is a MUST if you want to make good acceleration times, in the first gears where youre spining and stragling to get traction ,its just a matter of synchronizing your wheels speed with your actual speed,plus when you shift to the second gear your engine doesnt stall and you get only a 2k rpm drop aproximately.keeping the gear in for an extra 2 seconds is the trick. thats from a guy that works and tunes cars. not trying to be smart, just sharing the few things i know. cheers
