Hey guys, I've been watching Ryan's tutorials for about a year now, and learned a lot! Here's a sample on what I've done with a lot of the production techniques that he chooses
/watch?v=NKyUF4ILEzE
If enough people enjoy it, I will make a step by step tutorial on how I made the entire thing.
The second synth the wobble one sounds like crap when i do it it sounds perfect when i press the key on my keyboard but when i put in the note in my DAW it just sounds like garbage any suggestions ?
Hey guys I just started composing. I realize that a knowldge of music can only help you so much when using logic. Its more about learning the program and options available to you.
That being said. Where can I find this plug in and other additional plug ins?
nz, are you side chaining in most of these complextro loops in these tutorials. can you do a tutorial on side chaining ?? and explain the importance of this and perhaps, demonstrate side chaining done in a free plug in for those of us that dont have logic. i use stupid "maschine"
@ksnay1 logic is not a plugin its a daw if you dont have a daw i would highly recommend getting one. ableton or logic is good but if you cant afford that get fl studio and lastly reason
How can one man be so talented and so generous at the same time :) you could just make your music and make money out of it but you didn't... you decided to help out other (beginning) producers by sharing your knowledge. And for that my friend, i thank you!
This is an awesome tutorial, I have one question though, when I make a good wobble sound and use it in my arrangement window it changes over time.
So for example when I loop a section it wil play 3 times the same sound and then the fourth time it wil morph/do a kindoff filter cutoff thing like its automated somewhere, but I cant find where and I started just with a plain sine wave.
@HeavyBawDeep Thanx, yeah I've tried that but its never completely right, You hear it only solo'd though. To bad Massive doesn't have numbers or anything with them knobs so that you can see on what setting exactly it is
I'm an aspiring producer from southern california and ryan enzed's tutorials have helped me tremendously, if you could please check out my soundcloud and tell me what you think of my complextro song it would be much appreciated, thank you! soundcloud . com/ justin-mcguire / demo-song
DUDE!!! You are the most awesomnest (<---not a real word!) PERSON EVER! Thanks so much for your tutorials they've literally changed my production life.
Hi) Excellent lesson) Could you help me? When I turn off one of the oscillators and again turn on the sound changes. This happens also when I will restart the preset. How to disable this?
You have by far the best and most knowledgeable tutorials on youtube. Thank you so much. If you could give me some feedback on my track I would appreciate it .
This was really helpful. You are one of the only people that talk during your video. A full scale start to finish tutorial would be awesome if you did it. It wouldn't even matter what DAW you used because they are all the same really.
Video 1 the intro, Video 2, the Drop, Video 3, The Break down, Video 4 The Outtro, Video 5 Complextro means more complex stuff, Video 6 Mix Down And Mastering.
With your 1/16 rate wobble, the pitch ends up changing throughout the song and it's bugging the hell out of me. Seriously, try the wobble for 4 bars straight and you will hear it changing and starting to sound crap. How do u fix this?
@AlpineViking91 go into oscillator tab, and choose restart by gate, experiment with the value to get the sound you want, or, cut the note into a beat, make sure restart is on, on the lfo rate, should work.
Ok this is where i need help! I don't have logic, ableton :[, i want to make that same dart stab sound that dirtyloud and those brazilian artist use that you make in the ES1... Can u replicate that sound in massive please i've never been able to get it, your the man keep it up!
Dude honestly your fucking awesome! I Love how you actually go into depth in your complextro tutorials rather than just saying "Make a bunch of different synths and randomly play notes on them" The whole variation between narrow and wide sounds is an awesome tip! Thanks a bunch!
This isn't even anything I didn't know how to do necessarily... but listening to your thought process as to how you go about creating each bar really helped me out as I have been stuck on a complextro track with a very similar vibe. Thank you for being so in depth, just watching you work, and not even copying your synths truly helps me progress as a producer/musician.
where did u learn ur techniques? i mean theres no way u did trial and error, ur much too young. did u just watch other tutorials? or did u go to school for it? im just curious. books? videos u would recommend?
oh, one question though. When you do a bass note at the same time as your kick, shouldn't it be getting ducked more? Or am i side chaining too hard and that's why i'm not getting the note to come through like it does for you?
How come when I copy/paste my settings into a blank massive patch, the patches sound slightly different, even though the settings are identical? This happens repeatedly.
@Nzmusic 101. Can you PLEASE show a tutorial soon how to make a snare like you do? You have shown a bass drum one that was really useful, may you please show me a snare? I am sure others will agree a snare tutorial would be nice :) thank you
Ryan, I don't have Logic, so I cannot do that sweet pluck synth. I wanted to ask you if you could make a video on how to make a similar pluck synth with Massive instead of the one from logic. Thanks in advance! :D
why not sure the step sequencer in massive? you're making it a lot harder than it should be. it's actually one synth with LFO's/filters opening up as it progresses. still great tutorial though. what kind of kick you using? I really dig it, cuts really well.
when you put the lfo onto the filter (synth 2) it's range suddenly changes from bright green to a modest grey-green ... what did you do there? or what does this do to the lfo?
I would like to thank you so much for these videos! You are certainly one of the most organized producers, you dserve everything coming your way my friend :)
