Depends on what you think you'll need, it boiled down to the z06, c63 amg and the m3. 2 seats in the z06 killed it for me, despite it being the obvious quicker car, the m3 felt quite a bit better around corners than the c63 tho, and sure enough now i drive an m3, but it really depends on what your using it for.

I had the pleasure of having a z06 for the weekend(friends) It was modded and thought the power was intoxicating it was missing something. The ride was bone jarring and lacked comfort. I drove an e92 some time after & it felt somewhat slower but was more enjoyable. in the vette you new you were going fast in the m3 u didn't. m3 felt more refined i guess. if they bumped displacement to 5.0 that would.

totally end it for me beemer hands down. im leaning 2wards the beemer thanks 4 the input

Ahh yes... Interesting video. I thought I was very impressed with the M3 until a few weeks ago. Dude dynoed his and I was like WTF? So, hence rather have a custom built twin turbo Z then a factory built M3 anyday. Costs about the same though when you figure it all up for tranny, suspension, and engine.

Actually that 4litre V8 is somehow lighter than the old M3's straight six. It's not just turned into a muscle car its the most advanced V8 in the world. You could argue Mercedes make better V8's but they have a wasteful extra 2.2litres!

No I will be getting an evo 9 or an M3, an '06, and then turboing it. I like that the M3 is a race car with a luxury car interior. As the evo is cheap plastic on the inside except for the recaros.

acceleration looked weak, and idk it seems like a bad move for the m3. i liked that the previous models were more race oriented and not so much a muscle car. with the v8 won't it be much heavier? plus the car itself looks bigger(further adding to the weight). also what kind of gas mileage would that thing get? 8 cylinders. high displacement. high revving. these are the reasons I prefer japanese cars. the old m3s were really sick though. just a thought.

it gets 22 highway mpg if om not mistaken so for a v8 that's not bad. and with the carbon fiber roof the alpine white looks beautiful in my opinion. the V8 n it is actually lighter than the old V6.

Stock the exhaust is muted. You have to listen to one with Remus or Eisenmann exhaust. It sounds menacing and incredibly amazing at high-rpms.

I think the old m3 is better looking especialy the csl. The inline 6 in the csl is just a masterpiece. Would you just listen to it! Try and compare it to the v8 in the new one. I think its got a bit of a weight issue aswell. But still the new one is a great gt car:)

except the e92's v8 engine puts out more horsepower, torque, a throaty sound that stands up the hair on your neck, all with less weight and better gas mileage? Glad they did away with SMG II, believe me i was the same way but I just got done test driving this beast, it's insane. I still love the e46 too though.

I would have to agree, but think of this way, the M3's grown up from the E46, it's not overmatured, it's more like the E46 was a college athelete and the E92 is a professional. The amount of features the car has is just ridiculous, on the coupe when you get into the car and turn it on little extenders come out and "hand" the seatbelt to you, then they disappear when you click your seatbelt in. It's amazing such a fine car could cost so little in comparision to the Porsches, etc it competes with.

Restrictive manifolds add back pressure, which give naturally aspirated engines more torque. Maybe that's why?

SMG won't be available at launch. BMW are still finishing SMG3 a new version with a dual clutch.

It's not SMGIII like in the M5-M6. It's called M-DCT, double clutch transmission.

The M-DCT is available in the UK but the car will not arrive 'till about late Spring, early Summer if you choose to add it. However, it does take the 0-62mph time down from 4.8seconds to 4.6seconds and is more friendly for different driving uses due to the new MDrive system.
