Tiller's work was horrible, but I hardly think it's appropriate to say, "Thank God he's dead." Wouldn't it have been better if he had come to the realization that what he was doing was wrong and repented? That was what I was praying for. There are many reason why the dead are buried and they usually fall into 4 categories: pragmatical, symbolical, formal & social. Pragmatics obviously refer to health issues. That said, I'm pretty sure that any dead family members of yours weren't stuck straight in the ground pragmatically, they had a nice ceremony full of flowers, pictures & respectful eulogies. And there was probably a vigil, just like this one for Dr.Tiller.

Also, I went to private school and it was where I learned respect.
