Hi guys, I'm having a big big problem with Cubase. When I try to listen to anything I play on Cubase the volume is really low and I have to turn my speakers up all the way to hear a little bit of what's playing. I adjust the level control and it's still has really low volume. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I really really need to know how to write triplets in Beat Designer.
I tried changing BD internal settings for time, splitting it into 32 sections instead of 16, etc, but can't get a way to write simple triplets in a simple 4/4 .
Thanks for this vid. I have just got cubase 6 and everytime I go to Loop Browser or Groove agent One, throws open a box that says "missing samples" and "failed to locate samples". Please can you help at all ? I have reinstalled Cubase and still the same. There seems like no place I can browse to that has the loops or drum sounds. Regards, Bret
hey man, thx for the tutorial. i use cubase 6, and when i drop an audio on a track it doesn't match the tempo automatically ... is tehre a certain setting ? so i don't have to stretch the timing of the audio items from the media browser each time.

I have a little problem with Groove Agent One and Beat Designer.. When i make a loop in Beat Designer, i dont want the loop in the start of the song, but it doesent matter where i put the note thingy, it justs keeps playing if i hit the "Play" button, even though i didn't put the map thing there. I've been producing in the dance genre for about three years now, and I want to go to the next level. My problem is the following: after opening up a drum instrument, I start to edit the kickdrum with vst's. though I am not able to use more than 24 vst slots. I start with filling up the first 8 slots for the instrument within the mixer. Then I add a group channel, which is another 8 slots, and after that I am stuck.... 24 slots if I fill in the main mixers panel. Any help ? really appreciate it
Hey ran into a small problem, I don't know how I did it, but now 0.01 seconds takes up half the screen, so the cursor bar goes extremely fast, tried googling how to reset the settings to default but couldn't find an answer

@CharliesDaddy22 I agree! I've recorded my band and edited/mixed/mastered songs using a mac sometimes and sometimes a pc! Both are equally as good it just depends on what computer you're most comfortable with:)

The whole PC vs Mac thing just isn't relevant anymore, back 10 years ago I'll agree that in regards to Cubase, the Mac was more stable but seriously, that is no longer the case. These days there really is no advantage to owning a mac and you get a whole lot LESS bang for your buck, as in a PC with the same price tag as a Mac would blow it out of the water 15 times over...

beatmaker is fine but I suggest you use kontakt rather than groove agent. groove agent has no way to preview the sounds you want to import and you have toimport and audio file into the session then drag a file from the audio pool in order to use it in G.A.

@DrumNBassHero You either have a very poor PC or an average one that you have treated badly, I use a standard Toshiba laptop and I've never experienced a freeze, random turning offs or long loading times.
I could quite safely say that the average Mac is a lot weaker than the average PC in terms of both value for money and innovation. Why does the top iMac cost £1,684? When the sum total of it's graphics card, processor and hard drive comes to £333? That's some serious overpricing!
Hey I have a question... I am considering purchasing Cubase 5, as I am strongly for PC (and against Mac). I know this isn't entirely accurate, but everyone knows that the two MAIN DAWs are Pro Tools and Cubase, right? and i have heard generally that pro tools is better if you're a mac user and cubase for the PC, so my question is, does groove agent one as well as other plugins come with cubase when you buy it? or do you need to buy them separately?
@slavesbydesign A sequencer is use to write or make music from scratch whether it be using MIDI or audio, most good sequencers (such as Cubase and Logic) will incorporate an audio editing option (which is basically what Pro Tools is). Pro Tools is renowned or being quite overrated, which is correct in my opinion, I think i you have the correct plugins or Cubase, you can easily produce a better sounding track than if you choose to mix/master is Pro Tools. But at the end of the day it's choice/
@jprincehouston I think you need to seek medical attention. Cubase can do everything Logic can and more, Cubase 5 kills off Logic in every possible way.

hey im trying to do this but every time i get to the step at 2:00 when you have to drag the sliced clip over to groove agent, the mouse turns into the circle-backslash and doesnt let me drop it onto the pads. any idea why this is happening?
@Jed9133 - it's just the default amount of lanes visible.. you need to click on the + sign at the bottom right of the lanes... add as many as you need.

1) F3 mixer---Always on top
2) e-edit channel settings ----Always on top
3) Device-VST performance meter---Always on top.

beatmaker is fine but I suggest you use kontakt rather than groove agent. groove agent has no way to preview the sounds you want to import and you have toimport and audio file into the session then drag a file from the audio pool in order to use it in G.A.

My pc is slow... and freezes.
My mac is fast... and does not freeze.
My pc lasts for 4 hours... my mac lasts for 9 hours...
My pc turns off at random moments. my mac doesnt...
My pc takes 15 minutes to turn on. my mac takes 1 minute :s
My knowledge might not be as good as yours. but thats enough for me to say. macs are better then pc's

@DrumNBassHero You either have a very poor PC or an average one that you have treated badly, I use a standard Toshiba laptop and I've never experienced a freeze, random turning offs or long loading times.
I could quite safely say that the average Mac is a lot weaker than the average PC in terms of both value for money and innovation. Why does the top iMac cost £1,684? When the sum total of it's graphics card, processor and hard drive comes to £333? That's some serious overpricing!

Hey I have a question... I am considering purchasing Cubase 5, as I am strongly for PC (and against Mac). I know this isn't entirely accurate, but everyone knows that the two MAIN DAWs are Pro Tools and Cubase, right? and i have heard generally that pro tools is better if you're a mac user and cubase for the PC, so my question is, does groove agent one as well as other plugins come with cubase when you buy it? or do you need to buy them separately?

@slavesbydesign A sequencer is use to write or make music from scratch whether it be using MIDI or audio, most good sequencers (such as Cubase and Logic) will incorporate an audio editing option (which is basically what Pro Tools is). Pro Tools is renowned or being quite overrated, which is correct in my opinion, I think i you have the correct plugins or Cubase, you can easily produce a better sounding track than if you choose to mix/master is Pro Tools. But at the end of the day it's choice/

I did what you did, but tens times faster in Sonar 8 with just Guru. There were too many steps involved just to get to about 2:15 seconds in your tutorial. One main window is where Cakewalk beat all other out for fast workflow, and they just improved it better with X1. Oh and as a neat suggestion, you should carry around a block of cheese with your computer so you can have your Mac and cheese all the time.

hey im trying to do this but every time i get to the step at 2:00 when you have to drag the sliced clip over to groove agent, the mouse turns into the circle-backslash and doesnt let me drop it onto the pads. any idea why this is happening?
