  • Thank god for youtube. If it wasn't for it, we'd never have the chance to check this beauty out.

The "In rainbows" version is so lame...

  • Why did they fuck this up on studio? This version is so goddamn awesome!!!!!!

  • "I ain´t got the moves like Yorke, no one´s got the moves like Yorke"

  • i love hiiiiiil

  • Su forma de bailar...

  • The dancing here looks impeccably like the dancing in "Lotus Flower," which was released 5 years after this video! Fantastic...

  • THOM IS THE DOCTOR !!!!!!!!!!

  • yeah! I have this version on mp3 , I downloaded back there in 2008 , can't remember from where...

  • Thom dancing like a puppet is the best I've seen in my life!!!!

  • 1:43 the bass is so sick

  • @ilikecows44 thats my fav. part in the live version!

  • I'm stuck in the TARDIS too, Thom.

  • I didn't know this song was this old!

  • so funny :)))))

  • I love how the caption is 'More crazy Thom Yorke moves'. :D

    He truly is a genius

  • this version is the best. well , salamanca version is the best, but i couldn´t get it in a good quality

  • Some musicians can just write great music,,but Thom yorke can bust a movie :'D

  • omg best dance moves EVER lol

  • this song exists in a different universe altogether

  • I think the lyrics are about arrogance and about ambition.

(Thom's lyrics are usually about multiple things at once)

  • well you are a fag. go listen to some mainstream bullshit instead

  • wow u really dont know anything about music-go listen to some pop bs

  • i prefer this version to the in rainbows one

  • Sorry but the in rainbows version is better than this

    Its just to damn beautifull

  • I respect your opinion, i guess it depends... they both have their quality, what i really love is the bass line at 1:43 and how the ondes martenot follows... nice. They should have done an "all-band" version of this i think, like the i will (los angeles version), i think it would be a nice b-side. i also wish to hear the original version of videotape in record, but that is too much to ask. I hope the bonnaroo dvd come out eventually

  • also check out this version from salamanca 2002, is a little bit longer and sounds better and it is the one i like best

  • do the happy dance

  • that crazy mofo

    love it

  • Anyone care about the music here or is the dancing the only important part? Maybe someone could say something about the lyrics, I mean a Tardis is a pretty cool concept. Anyone get what he's trying to say? Thanks for listening.

  • I think the lyrics express the heart of a man who cannot give up his love for someone. In my imagination, the man is elite, and the woman who he love is also. And they had known each other from childhood.

But the romance will not be successful, may be forever.

  • We want him to entertain us.

  • I think I remember reading an interview where Thom said that he wrote this song during the recording of OK Computer. When he coulden't sleep, he posted on the internet a lot and chatted with people. So in that regard I think it's about being obsessed with this non-physical world (the internet) and the idea of connecting with other people. It sounds weird, but I think it fits in nicely with the overarching theme of In Rainbows. Great performance also.

  • Thom is a great dancer!

    jaja

maybe not sthetic movements but he has the feeling!

    Wonderful!

  • How does he move like that?! Amazing dancer!

  • this one clearly better

  • both versions pwn.

  • I actually think the bonus disc had better songs then the main disc!

  • I wish they recorded it like this 'cause me likes this better

  • He dances like the dude from REM, in that losing my religion video

  • Yeah!! you are sooo right, like Michael Stipe

  • its called, feeling the music.

  • well yorke really likes REM he sings with him at concerts sometimes but i hope he didnt steal the dance cause that would be bad it wouldnt be original

  • thom has actually been quoted to saying that he ripped off stipe left and right, but no matter. thom has taken the moves to a whole other level and made it his own. and its aammmazzzinnnggg

  • when the synth kicks in i get crazy mad goosebumps

  • He's doing the Puppet Dance! It's Thom meets Bye, Bye, Bye by N*Sync!

  • I know I'm just saying it because it's thom yorke but hes the baddest mother fucker when hes dancing like a madman

  • thom york is crazy, which is a good thing

  • I would kill for an mp3 of this. :(

  • Ahem... Rolling Stone linked to this video. I feel proud. Even though I didn't take it. Shock!

  • thom breaking the motherfucker down there with his gangsta moves

  • This is awesome! SO much better then the CD version!!!!

  • god I love this song. I wish they would've played it when I saw them.

  • Fucking amazing, should've been recorded this way.

  • Dios esta versión es lo mejor que escuche en mi vida, no puedo dejar de escucharlo, no puedo dejar de ver a Thom bailar como una marioneta. Es dios.

  • this is the best version of this song ROcks like some fuckk sooo powerfull!!

  • Did'nt know this song was that old

  • Nude is older :c) they play the song on Ok Computer Tour :c))

  • Haha true, I saw Meeting People is Easy when it came out, love that version and the old title; Big Ideas (Don't Get Any)

  • I think this was made during the recording of Kid A..

  • Just before the band started recording HTTT, actually

  • That's nothing. Motion Picture Soundtrack is as old as Creep.

  • I don't think people understand this comment

  • Um, why did I get a thumbs down? It's the fucking truth.

  • Maybe they don't believe you. Whatever..

  • they said their next album will be entirely made of songs written before pablo honey

  • Radiohead say a lot of things just to keep us guessing.

  • Like this one better. Harder rocking!

  • Thom Yorke is CRAZY! and i love it

  • cool

  • the ondes sounds way better in this. i wish they would've kept the album version more like this.

  • Thom Would Be A Good Break-Dancer.... His Dances Always Start Looking Like He's About To start Break-Dancing...

  • I like this version of the song much better.

  • i have a version of them performing it in portugal or spain in 2001 and its def the best version ive ever heard and it sounds pretty close to this one in the video

  • subila a youtube

  • I love the ir cd2 version, but I love this as well.

  • I love the way he's dancing.. that's awesome.

Good song. I'm really not a die hard fan, although i do love Radiohead. That must explain why i love the album version really good. But from 2:10 and on it's pretty good, here.

  • yea, I think that his dancing has really improved over the years. lol

  • this version always made me stunned. it was kinda one of those PERFECT songs alongside to street spirit and pyramid song. too bad they fucked it up so badly on the disc 2. it sounds like a cover of some wannabe electro band. like it's been made in fucking fruity loops. i have an audio version of this and i listen to it everyday. it's their choice but not a wise one. it would have been better if they didn't record it. and saved it for the next one. this version is forever.

  • agree so much.

  • stunning performance as usual... not sure if this is a better version than on CD... i miss the pumping bass drum...

  • watch me dance , im a puppet

  • This version's fucking awesome. But as somebody else said, it wouldn't fit on In Rainbows. It would work in Amnesiac or Hail To The Thief though.

  • it is on in rainbows, and it works just fine

  • in reply to bryanistamps... this version is not in In rainbows... this version is completely different.. they remade the track before they released it officially on the cd..

  • Ja increible, Thom baila como una marioneta, y a mi me causa el mismo efecto, los movimientos perfectos en el lugar perfecto, ma pasa un escalofrío por la nuca.

  • Coliseu do Porto, Portugal?!

  • i like from 2:10 to the end on this version and the other part of in rainbows version, maybe i can mix my version xD

  • Jonny can really emote on guitar.

I kindof wish they'd made a proper go of this version...

  • Too chaotic, Dr. Tchock? Jesus christ, this version is so vastly superior to the CD2 one, it's not even funny. Far better, distinct melody, a more original approach, way better fit between lyric and composition, just a better TUNE overall. The CD2 version is a botched, castrated mess of a song. It drones on with little direction and sounds like a bad remix. Which it pretty much is.

  • I disagree. I think the CD2 version is categorically better in every way to this version. It's more focused on what emotions its supposed to invoke. This version may be good, but its just pure jam quality. something to come out of jam. Not implying that its a bad thing, but it feels very incoherent.

  • Categorically better? What do you mean by that? Anyway, it's a question about taste, but I think this is just a more exciting (and also coherent) version by far. The monotonous ground note drone and the lazy "default electronic Radiohead" sound of the CD2 version annoys me a bit.

  • I agree with you. I like the synth MUCH more in this live version than the CD2 version. However, I can see why they made it the way they did. This live version sounds more like it belongs on Kid A or Amnesiac than it does In Rainbows.

  • that bass on the sv is too sweeeeeeet

  • if there's one thing that would make the album version even better, it's this bassline. stick it right up in the mix. one of colin's best

  • "You can almost, see, the STRIIIIIINGS"

Thats the one line I like better in this version than the disc 2 one, but the rest of the song is better on disc 2 IMO. I just love the energy of it in this.

    They're both great though.

  • i love thom yorkes dancing, i frickin love it. and ive got a growin obbsession with this song. i love the live and the studio version. i love it wen he says "m a puppet" in the studio version aswell

  • The discbox version is so much better.

It's so darker and more emotional.

Sounds like a mesh between Kid A, Amnesiac, and HTTT

  • This is waaay different from the CD2 version

  • Yes, way better. They ruined Bangers´n´Mash and this one in my opinion. To chiiled out, they lack the energy of the live versions.

  • Nah, I disagree. I like the CD2 versions a lot more, they're a lot more distinctly Radiohead. The live versions seem way too chaotic to me.

  • Oh snap, I wish so deeply that I was there.

  • Oh bad call. for a start, it's called 'All I Need', and it is one of the best songs on the album, the album wouldn't be the same without it for me

  • no

No suena como en vivo, suena impresionantemente mejor.

    Radiohead sigue superándose.

  • lol hmm is that hints of Ian Curtis i see

  • Yeah, the arms out, pretending to fly move is very Ian Curtis

  • i really, really hope this song gets put out like it was played during their pre-HTTT tour (like this). i was craving this tune all the way before the release of HTTT and so very, very disappointed at it never coming out. please, radiohead, don't screw this up on disc 2! oh, i know you won't.

  • actually, you just did. fuck. thanks, jerks!

  • The studio version kills this live version.

  • does it really out of all honesty? i havent received my discbox yet.

  • yeah man, i'm not saying the screwed it up, but i just heard the new version and wish they would have left it a rock song.

  • Well, this live version ends on a soft note... and anyways, while the studio version is much darker, I like the riff. It reminds me of "I Might Be Wrong"...both have similar melodies. I like both for different reasons, but I can totally see Yorke nailing the studio version live, with just him in the spotlight with the guitar...it would look pretty cool.

  • yes, you're right. this is much better.

  • haha thom looks like he wants to scrach himself but he cant rich, its hilarious:D i love his dance, song is awesome, i hope the album version will be just like this... cheers

  • i hope the album version is very similar to this, its simply awesome.

  • this song needs more hype. It'll be a single I think.

  • wow, a song that sings "up on a ladder". and then suddenly it takes you up on the ladder. it so freakin sucks that so very few care like these guys care. so many bands suck, it's pathetic. it's like most pop just speaks a language it doesn't understand.

  • i think you should re-read my post. i love radiohead. my post is a positive one...though not so positive towards other bands.

  • You are both fantastic examples of annoying Radiohead fans.

Radiohead420DJ: "How can you SAY THAT. YOU'VE ONLY LOOKED AT ONE POST. You really need to check out my EARLIER WORK. IT'S ALL AMAZING!!!! YOU KNOW NOTHING. Stfu."

    Indeed

  • You're probably right. What bands do you like?

  • my favourite band is Radiohead, hence me coming across this thread, but lots more besides. Mainly rock I suppose.

  • me too. interpol, strokes, gorrilaz, daft punk etc. I'm presently enjoying Boxer by The National.

  • I fucking love that Thom is dancing during the whole song. I've never seen a professional musician have so much fun while performing. He looks like he could be hamming it up at a high school dance! Yet another reason that Radiohead rule.

  • If they can change Reckoner into a gospel, what will this is be?

  • not trying to nitpick, but i really think the in rainbows version of 'reckoner' is a completely different song...the chord progression is entirely different and the lyrics are as well.

i hope the old reckoner eventually sees the light of day, we'll see though.

  • Jonny looks like he's getting really into this one.

  • Great! Hail to Thom! And to In Rainbows!!

  • quality song

  • This song is great. I mean, just the Doctor Who refrence makes it awesome

  • they just posted a picture on dead air space with the caption "I'm stuck in the tardis", hinting that this song will be on the new album.

  • No. However, it is on the second disc of extra songs.

  • I have this audio but have been waiting for years now on CD, now it looks like NOvember.

  • SEXIEST man alive. End of story

  • This song and reckoner HAVE to be on LP7, surely?

  • cool song ^_^

  • tchock 4 ever...yaaay

  • loevd it!

  • ahhh it's my lover

I fucking love dr.tchock soooo much

I love those crazy dance moves they are sooooo sexy

  • oh my god *explodes*

    thom yorke is the greatest.

    ever.

    the end.
