  • The video was taken on Mt. Wilson--the trail to Ech Rock. I ran the 100" telescope here from 1979 till 1981. I composed quite a lot of my music on the mountain,,, I had a house there. Samuel Barber was a great influence on my work. I dedicated the 3rd movement of my "Three Intimate Elegies and Fugue" to him. (It's on iTunes under "Deak: Music For Piano" Zita Carno, piano).
