  • Why don't you look into the camera?

  • This is the best MMORPG ever and will remain the best until a DAoC 2 classic gameplay !

  • ah well, they have the new frontiers now aswell, but maybe its going to change again? who knows. theyre planning to implement old RAs aswell

  • the game in the old days were so good not sure of the pve but mainly the rvr so the old frontier however did it took me a year to get 50 with my paladin was no easy job those days to lvl up

  • "whats up guys" they terminate people for catching csrs cheating, THATS what.

fucking shit game most days, must have huge balls to survive this title full of bullies and pieces of shit, players/csr alike.

  • Thanks a lot for this video. Everything you said makes perfect sense with what happened to this awesome videogame.

Besides Trials of Atlantis expansion, what ruined this game was the dependance of "buffs" to be able to compete in pvp and pve to some extend. If they had implemented the "realm buffers npcs" from day 1, it would have been perfect in that aspect.

Dark Age of Camelot is one of the very few videogames I managed to enjoy for longer than couple days. Only MMO I ever had fun with.

  • DAOC 2 .... DO IT!

  • gota give ya a thumbs down dude, altho you did hit alot of the good points of doac correctly imo. your mainly bashing the game because alot of people say toa killed the game.. which the fact is it was flawed but overal was a good idea and improved the game.. the flaw with toa was that it forced competitive pvp players to complete hours of pve in order to get new abilitys.. that has already be resolved.. warcraft hurt daoc the most 50% of playerbase left the first day of release

  • @kingkumaxx at the time world of warcraft was released Dark Age's graphics was really out of date ect.. the graphics update came to late and most of the worst damage was done... imo daoc is still unrivaled to date on player vs player.. still the only game that has true seige warfare castles and towers and boats its really a shame more people arnt playing.. the thing thats hurting doac right now is it has 0 advertisement.. not even any internet marketing..

  • Daoc needs to be free yes, they merged the euros with the usa servers so yea... not good but thats just me :P still good game <3 laby

  • One thing to me that started the downfall of the game for me was when everyone thought they needed buff bots. It made clerics really nothing mobile rez units in some peoples eyes, and this was before the rr points for rezing people. TOA was created because a few people were at the time testing wow and thought that everyone would enjoy that kind of gameplay.

  • yep. the creation of toa and the changes from old frontiers to new frontiers (the pvp zone) was too drastic of a change for some people to keep playing. the only thing daoc has had going for them since then was there fundamental pvp system and incredible reward system for pvp'ing.

  • lol nice name "SideStrafe" oh and you should be on the daoc 2 staff to keep shit in line, if it will ever come :P

  • So,,, to say DAOC was legendary and revolutionary at release couldn't be more false... I was there and trust me, it was not as awesome and revolutionary as it became months and years later..

  • My point is, If you played from day one, you would know that many people left after their free trial ended.. The faithful stayed and were rewarded 6 months later... The game became a legend 6 months after release when fixes were made and new features promised at release were finally implemented.. Out of my 10 rl friends that played, only 1 continued playing and is still playing today..In truth, DAOC didnt become legendary until word of mouth spread about RVRs.. Then months l8r, ppl fell in luv

  • Back in 2001, I was heavily addicted to EQ... However, I looked forward to DAOC and couldn't wait for it to release... I was in the last phase of Beta and pleaded for DOAC to wait 6 months before release due to many features being broken and not implemented.. Anyway, DAOC released early and the first week was the most successful week.. Once when ppl realized and saw many features weren't implemented, they left.. I tried it for about a month and quit due to it being broken...

  • daoc took my mmo virginity (back even before shrouded isles) and it was absolutely the most incredible gaming experience ive ever had. i was COMPLETELY blown away every single time i logged in. i loved shrouded isles and i liked trials of atlantis at first, i quit playing shortly after. new frontiers really killed it for me. ive been back a few times but its just not the same game. havent played an mmo recently, actually redownloading it now and gonna mess around for a few days.

  • can anyone tell me how long we are supposed to wait for the email with the new account password? have been waiting for over 15 hours now and still no mail. i havend played for about 5 years and me and a friend wanted to give it a go again.. but thats simply very hard if u live in europe... no phone line and support tell u to call support in freaking US even when u live in denmark.. i mean im not gonna pay that much for the call.. so sad really.. Fuck EA....

  • I started playing DAoC in November 2001 and I still to this day go back quite frequently for the PvP. WoW is lacking in dynamics and it will fail if they continue their trend. DAoC still has alot of stuff going on and alot of the old school players are still around. Alot of RvR last time I came back. They have changed the game so that ToA hasnt ruined it you can purchase all ToA items with bounty points gained in RvR now. I would not say they are doing WELL but they have a core community

  • Dark age of camelot 2, Of course!!!! i agree, totaly.

  • I quit this year, after 10 years of playing. TOA killed the game, because they introduced abilities that you could only get in PvE, Master Level Abilities, that made or broke your PvP experience. If you were level 50 ML1, and someone was 50 ML10, you basicly insta lost. When TOA came out, it took hundreds of hours to get ML10. This video review is every accurate imo, coming from a 10 year vet of DAOC

  • This game has gone free with 900+ players on a legal server go look it up... Uthgard.net

  • It's still a great game! I first started playing a little bit before SI came out and stopped a little after Catacombs came out. ToA was definitely what hurt the game a lot, but I think being able to buy the MLs and arty gear with BPs and glass helped with the frustration of actually having to do the steps of the MLs. They took forever and were very boring IMO. I like the game for PVP, not so much for PVE.And after a month or so I've re-learn (almost) everything about the game and it's fun again!

  • I did the free trial for DAoC about 6 months ago and I went to Mag Mell and it was completely different. Not the same town I played in 10 years ago.

Won't forget seeing that huge hammer spell from the thanes for the first time or the burning spears from the (runewalker?). Such an awesome game

  • @robertgarrison2 Nice, it's those kinds of visuals that always bring back great memories!

  • Great to see everyone's comments in regards to this epic title! :)

  • DAoC was much of my childhood... I think I started playing around when I was 10 or 11... Lol, I had no idea what was going on, and I'm sure I pissed a lot of people off ;) fast-forward some years, I was a casual gamer and great at it with plenty of 50's. My favorite part was the mythology & the lore, they did their homework! It has Europe's myths in the game and that separates it and makes it realer than any other fantasy-based game. ToA made it impossible for casual gamers to keep up :(

  • @hutch1page i agree 100% on the lore. absolutely one of my favorite parts of the game and totally sparked my interest in learning about that type of history. i actually have the havamal sitting out, the words of the high one (words of odin basically). its all very interesting/exciting.

  • I find it hilarious how not only did I play this game exceptionally well for a 12-year-old but I still remember so many things about the game itself. Nothing makes me feel better than nostalgiaing(lol) about the great times I had playing DAoC

  • Oh and please do a lets play daoc trial, i'd love to watch that now since i just subscribed!

  • A new/revamp DAOC would be fucking amazing. People are obviously still paying money to play daoc from the 1 month that I went back to check it out people still pay for dual accounts for their bots in RvR. Its sad where this game ended but it will always be such a memorable experience.

  • I played this game from day 1 when I was 11 and stopped when I went to college. PvP in this game was exhilarating, addicting, and fun... regardless of whether you fell under the category of the elite 8v8, 1v1, or the casual "zerging" type of player. Every niche had fun out there. I think in the later years of the game, people got caught up too much in the anti-zerg attitude. It's an MMO, don't complain that a skilless zerg got you. Just fricken team up with people in ur realm and go fight lol.

  • Cool video.

  • Sounds like it was a great game. Saddening to hear what happened to it, these big companies always want a piece of the pie and end up leaving it messed up and uneatable.

  • @SFAddictionist Ya, it's such a huge waste, so much potential for a game to succeed beyond it's current state.

  • <3

  • @DahSlayah Sorry for the delay. ;)
