@FarSightOfTheMoon The yuèhú (粤胡) only has two strings - the hardingfele at the end of the video has eight!

Also note that while "he uses a bow sort of like the one you use to play a violin", Julie seems to use a bow *exactly* like the one you use to play a violin - not that any of the notes are actually played by the puppet (or even synchronized with the her articulation).
