American movies are often "typical american movies" with huge words, passion and drama, but no real meaning behind it. I don't watch this series so I don't know whether this is one of these movies or not. i just think that him and Anne Boleyn and Henry made the best couple, but she was too controlling, and Henry moved on to Jane because she was exact opposite of Anne, she was swayed by everything Anne detested.

Either way, Anne did not capture Henry's heart because she seduced him physically, not emotionally.

Ii think it's extremely hard for any of us to imagine how it was for the people living in this time, you can study it til you turn blue but the fact is things were VERY different back then. Anne Boleyn was a remarkable woman because she stood against the traditions of her time in order to get what she wanted, but so was Queen Katherine for standing up for what she believed in. I think all of his wives were incredible in their own ways, but all of them had vices too.

He had the excuse that his father Henry V wanted them married on his deathbed.
