  • Remember this(SOUTHERN SERVES THE SOUTH- LOOK AHEAD, LOOK SOUTH!.God what Glorious days they were. :-)

  • NO WAY 5371

  • gotta love celion dion in the background lol. where was this restraunt located?

  • Its located in Berea Ohio however you cant go eat there anymore because it closed in August 2008

  • This reminded how my fellow train friend found a original Southern railway boxcar lettered "Southern serves the south" in perfect condition.

  • not sure where you're located but you can still find a lot of those boxcars floating around the southeast. Good catch man!

  • He found it near Port Huron MI somewhere and it was later reported somewhere in Wisconsin about 1 week later

  • It's very sad it closed.

  • yea it is very sad. Hopefully it'll reopen after the underpass construction is completed

  • You know that the station resturant is now closed?

  • i am aware of that. In fact i was there on the last day it was open

  • I like the southern and i seen a few of there diesels at a Museum in Spencer NC they have a E8,FP7,and a GP30.

  • Nice find there. I've never seen a Rio Grande anywhere other than on its own line.

    Thanks for posting!

  • Ha ha, hells yes, Rio Grande!

  • I used to love watchng those blue & black hoppers with coal loads roll past my old home in Bedford, OH. The locomotives were a great hodge-podge: plenty of old Southern GP-30s & GP-35s, others still in Wisconsin Central or MoPac colors. I'm surprised that after all this time some are still wearing their old Southern look.

  • well its not to rare to see fallen flag cars still painted for their original roads. I usually see SP, SSW, C&NW, Southern, Conrail & N&W frieght cars go through Berea all the time

  • You'll see everything thru Berea! I know the W&LE is an econo road, but Southern's been gone for more than 20 years now. It's not unusual for gons and boxes to go un-repainted, but locomotives? Of course, I still see Conrail blue on NS.

  • i've seen almost everything at Berea. Havent seen a steam engine, alcos or a GP7/GP9 go through yet.

  • Nice seeing that Rio Grande Tunnel motor. When was this filmed? Is this unit still in the RG paint scheme?

  • This was filmed on June 2. Its still in D&RGW paint unpatched except for a small WE marking near the engine number under the cab

  • I'M a bit partial fan of the SOUTHERN.
