Just got this game......how do you make your man eat? On Call of Pripyat it was easy...just take it out of the foursome quick access slot.....but I cant seem make him eat on this.
Also........how do you "save game"? On Call of Pripyat it was F5......but this wont do it.

The grafix are way much worse than COD MW2 (best game in the world!). That means that this gaem sux and it is a terrible gaem cuz itz n0t as g00d as modern warfare and u r total buttraped n00b if you dont agree.
So you're the main character, a sort of mutant, and the environment is in the area surrounding chernobyl (localised post apocalyptic scenery). You live there, rob there, encounter surviving people, encounter crazy mutants....It has a realistic feel to it, because there are actually criminals robbing the phantom city of Pripyat nowadays

Damn. This game has an ATMOSPHERE. I feel some special thing when I play it, even after so many years. Dogs are barking, your geiger-counter is ticking, mutants are yowling, off-key music is coming from the distance with the wind carriing the smell of rain and rust. I imagined if everyone feels this... That's gotta be some kind of Common Consciousness...
@sticknasos Yea, so far there's 3 STALKER games in total, the first one, Shadow of Chernobyl, the second, Clear Sky, and the third, Call of Pripyat. Plus a bajillion mods.
2. The games are a bit buggy, but then again- there are patches that fix most of the bugs. The game is great in terms of atmosphere (how the game makes you feel), and it really stands out from others.
If you're going to get more than one STALKER game, get Shadow of Chernobyl and/or Call of Pirpyat- C

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is not only a completely different story, just using some similar elements (which both got from a much earlier novel), but is also ten times better than any of the other Stalkers...

@tntlink well I've walked through numerous buildings and they're all empty unless you've got the notification that there is a stash there. In fallout 3 for example you could explore for hours and hours and come back with a big load of wealth in STALKER I come back with the stuff I had and the occasional new weapon...

That means, developers have copied the same corner of base over and over again, where in Stalker they modeled every building individually and they used props, so the rooms aren't empty. Besides, what do you expect? People took the most important stuff when they were leaving a Pripyat in 1986... what was left, was stolen by others through the years - if there was nuclear explosion, you would find much more stuff ;)
@tntlink true and you're right about those damned kits. About every city and metrostation looks the same simply because they copy and paste all those kits again and again. It's just that there's something in fallout that makes me keep playing and even though I very much enjoy stalker, I don't want to play it as much as fallout.

Keep in mind that this game is made by a Ukrainian developer who obviously draws all its inspiration from simply visiting the real world location and from the book Roadside Picnic for the paranormal si-fi elements. Great idea, sometimes really intense atmosphere, but buggy like no other..weapon handling is a disaster, sounds suck..AI is stupid..I don't know..graphics don't impress. I disagree with the weapon handling is a disaster, the weapons in the beginning really suck, but that makes you appreciate new weapons you find sooo much more. I LOVE the weapons in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.
@michielgrillet Hmm, well what I mean is that they made the weapons feel like airsofts. In the Battlefield titles (not comparing gameplay) they make U feel the power by boosted soundeffects etc..in Stalker they didn't. And although U're in the start of a game..a submachinegun should still hurt..not just cause an itch. That's my oppinion, but like I said, I love what they are trying to do in Stalker. All I want is less action and more exploration!!

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. SoC is the best game I've ever played, before the witcher. This reminds me of the 2012 years, which will be after 2 years. We have now 2010... Be afraid!
@kmkanaka Well I think CoP was a little too easy ya know? At least the part not in Pripyat. Also I think the storyline was a little dry, esp. after you beat SOC. CS had too many enemies because they respawned too fast. Maybe they will make a prologue just right before the disaster happened. IDK but I am a big fan of the series.
I remember in Clear Sky. The first mission was annoying. I almost died from radiation poisoning because i did'nt notice i was standing IN the swamp, than i ran out of ammo and medkits because the guys from the Clear Sky faction were slow (Those lazy cockblowers reached me just when the firefight was over). Then i was lost in the middle of the swamps because i forgot to follow them.
get stalker complete 2009 for soc fixes the game right up better graphic and game play it doesnt change the core gameplay like other mods . complete is what soc should have been when the game was released
@strelokgunslinger SHoC and CS are both the story of the series (play CS first, and SHoC will just seem that much better), and then, I'm guessing since GSC didn't know what else to do, CoP was more about gameplay than the storyline. If anything, it's a boost in the storyline between SHoC and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. II.

You find out Strelok is going to work with the military to destroy the Zone (or at least stop its growth).
fallout 3 and s.t.a.l.k.e.r are both different games in fallout 3 you are in america after an nuclear war and in s.t.a.l.k.e.r you are in russia in a place called the zone( or something like that) and you had no place to be when the exploion in s.t.a.l.k.e.r happend you just died and it was not even a nuclear bomb it was a powerstation anyway aí like both games

In the Battlefield titles (not comparing gameplay) they make U feel the power by boosted soundeffects etc..in Stalker they didn't. And although U're in the start of a game..a submachinegun should still hurt..not just cause an itch. That's my oppinion, but like I said, I love what they are trying to do in Stalker. All I want is less action and more exploration!!

I modified One of the mods for stalker which makes blowouts happen every now and then so at every blowout theres a zombie invasion :D
Made Stalker x4 as fun for me seeming im a zombie fan :P

There is no f**king concentration camp game where u round up innocent people + lead them into a shower....
This is actually recreating chernobyl in a game and going around "cleansing" mutations of animals + people.
Its too DIRECTLY LINKED for me.
Doesn't matter guys - its just my opinion. It's too specific for my liking. Maybe I'm more influenced/moved by the chernobyl disaster than WWII / Vietnam etc. because i've seen the aftermath and been there..? Just my opinion

@jonnyego your understanding of the real life incident at Chernobyl is obviously rudimentary at best. The most disturbing thing to me is your ability to rationalize acting like this.
Your ignorance on both what happened as a result of the meltdown of Reactor No. 4 and it's effect on the context of the plot of the games is very obvious. It seems to make it pretty clear you know what you are doing. Again, why is the disturding question.

Based on his comment, we should have no WWII WWI games, we should have no Total War games and we should have nothing covering the years of any war anywhere, slavery and any time where any country was occupying another country. In other words, just platform games with cutie characters.

@Yoshiki03 if you actually played the game you might understand it is a fictional world were alternate events unfold creating the zone that is in the game. Over all it is a commentary on the distruction man kind creates hense the reason the back of the box calls it man made hell and you meet diffrent people in the zone how want to destroy it and those who love it, chernobyl is just the setting. I don't see why you think it is wrong to play a game based of this event.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. SoC is the best game I've ever played, before the witcher. This reminds me of the 2012 years, which will be after 2 years. We have now 2010... Be afraid!

@kmkanaka Well I think CoP was a little too easy ya know? At least the part not in Pripyat. Also I think the storyline was a little dry, esp. after you beat SOC. CS had too many enemies because they respawned too fast. Maybe they will make a prologue just right before the disaster happened. IDK but I am a big fan of the series.

I remember in Clear Sky. The first mission was annoying. I almost died from radiation poisoning because i did'nt notice i was standing IN the swamp, than i ran out of ammo and medkits because the guys from the Clear Sky faction were slow (Those lazy cockblowers reached me just when the firefight was over). Then i was lost in the middle of the swamps because i forgot to follow them.

get stalker complete 2009 for soc fixes the game right up better graphic and game play it doesnt change the core gameplay like other mods . complete is what soc should have been when the game was released

@strelokgunslinger SHoC and CS are both the story of the series (play CS first, and SHoC will just seem that much better), and then, I'm guessing since GSC didn't know what else to do, CoP was more about gameplay than the storyline. If anything, it's a boost in the storyline between SHoC and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. II.

fallout 3 and s.t.a.l.k.e.r are both different games in fallout 3 you are in america after an nuclear war and in s.t.a.l.k.e.r you are in russia in a place called the zone( or something like that) and you had no place to be when the exploion in s.t.a.l.k.e.r happend you just died and it was not even a nuclear bomb it was a powerstation anyway aí like both games
