@viperstinger77 You cannot drag a background layer. Duplicate the layer and then drag that new layer (via the move tool) to wherever you want.

@dazzelmachica 1. In the tools box make sure the foregrnd color is set to black and the backgrnd color is set to white. Click the tiny b/w icon.

2. Duplicate the layer

3. Click on quick mask. You will now see red when you paint. If you don't have the foregrnd set to black you won't see anything.

4.Toggle the Q key to see your selection. To refine, paint in or paint out via switching the foreground color between B&W

With the quick mask, I followed the steps but when quick mask is turned of, the whole image is selected. When I pressed delete, the background is gone, but the part in red is translucent...

@roshan550225 Go to the tab 'Select' (located at the top), then click on 'Inverse'. This will invert your selection area, in this case it will select the background for you (or whatever you didnt select in the first place), then you can press delete. Hope that helps.

Very nice video, congrats. The issue is that when using the brush tool, after I exit the quick mask and delete the background, the selected person becomes transparent, like 50% opaque. I don't know what I did wrong.

Great vid, i didnt think about the second method, so kept using the background eraser tool which was a pain.. One thing is how dyu resize the brush without right clicking all the time (im using cs5).
