I do find it amazing someone can look at the universe like this then somehow link it to god and jesus.
This is for the sole fact in the bible humans are meant to be gods chosen ones and all that. Why would anyone who cares most about humans make all this other stuff when he cares about as you point out tiny creatures, living on a tiny planet around a small star in a smallish galaxy in a gigantic universe amongst billions. waste of time and resources for a god to do.

Well you're correct in some respect. The Egyptians, The Greeks and The Romans did make some incredible scientific discoveries which have become the foundations of most modern medicine today, but that was not under Christianity.

Also, the Industrial Revolution and the discovery of the unknown places around the world. All done with heavy influence from Christianity. @FISHGOMOO4321 The use of carbon dating may be able to tell you the energy released from various things, but certainly not the year. Elements found on these are only able to sustain themselves for a certain period of time, most less than 200 years or so. So what you get are vague estimations based on not years, but the amount of energy released. Earth produces too much to have been able to sustain itself and replenish for 4.5 billion years let alone become this from a volcanic rock of a planet.

But why? If there is a god, then clearly, the 6 day creation story is still not correct. I just saw a video of recent images taken from VERY far away, ~13.2 BILLION light years, that show what the universe looked like at only 600 million years old. It looked very much as it was predicted to look.

I do find it amazing someone can look at the universe like this then somehow link it to god and jesus.
This is for the sole fact in the bible humans are meant to be gods chosen ones and all that. Why would anyone who cares most about humans make all this other stuff when he cares about as you point out tiny creatures, living on a tiny planet around a small star in a smallish galaxy in a gigantic universe amongst billions. waste of time and resources for a god to do.

Well you're correct in some respect. The Egyptians, The Greeks and The Romans did make some incredible scientific discoveries which have become the foundations of most modern medicine today, but that was not under Christianity.

Also, the Industrial Revolution and the discovery of the unknown places around the world. All done with heavy influence from Christianity. Elements found on these are only able to sustain themselves for a certain period of time, most less than 200 years or so. So what you get are vague estimations based on not years, but the amount of energy released. Earth produces too much to have been able to sustain itself and replenish for 4.5 billion years let alone become this from a volcanic rock of a planet.

I think it's just too convenient that the holy order is the Father, then the son, then the holy spirit. Besides I don't say the universe was created for just humans, I don't know if there is any other intelligent life or life out there, that is not a big issue in wether we were created or not. @SiriusMined The first comment would take too long to go into but as for human terms when discovering the nature of the universe it is almost never good to use normal everyday logic and common sense and assumptions when something as strange and huge as the universe. The kind of logic many people use here can't be applied to the universe.

It is unwise to "know" that God exists or not. Maybe there is a high, intellectual being elsewhere in the universe, on some mega-planet, that remotely creates and controls worlds like ours? Maybe the human interpretation of "God" is represented in this mysterious force, "Dark Energy"? One can never prove science, just theorise. One can never prove religion, just believe.
I'm an atheist. I need no gods or doctrines to lead my life. To me, spiritual belief is merely a cultural thing.

The bible isn't intended to be read as scientific textbook...it's not a how to guide on creating a Universe in 7 days. It does however say that man, scientist or otherwise cannot conceive of what God truly is. This stuff is not that hard to reconcile, unless you are a moron.
Beyond all doubrt, science was born out of relgion, not the other way arouns, so to have faith in science is to have faith in man having all the answers, and the child over the parent. We don't have all the answers.

The only reason people believe in religion is because they are conditioned and brought up to believe in them. It is the continuation of the old ferry tales. I'm not really asking that you disprove God but if you can't provide evidence that contridicts God then quite saying there is no god and simply say you are not perswaded to believe in a god, this is different from saying there is no god. If you can't prove one side then be nuetral.

But why? If there is a god, then clearly, the 6 day creation story is still not correct. I just saw a video of recent images taken from VERY far away, ~13.2 BILLION light years, that show what the universe looked like at only 600 million years old. It looked very much as it was predicted to look.
Also, the fact that the light took 13.2 billion years is a clue that the Genesis is not literally true.
