lol, that has nothing to do with Traction control and anti lock, they just had to get the Audi guys to Turn it off or disable it with VAG-COM on the engine managment ECU
they didnt get the idea to pull out the fuses for the ABS control & the fuses for the traction control... i mean it's the easiest way to do it... i do that on my car when i want to spin the wheels or if i want the brakes to lock
um.... they arent all different Systems, theyre all in the ECU, so theyre not Fused seperatly, they just ahd to use VAG-COM and Disable the ABS Via High level interface,
It's quite a real issue - unlike most cars, theres no "off" button for the driving aids like TCS and ABS in modern Audi's. The Audi A8 I had for the slippery road course for my drivers license just refused to do anything stupid like skidding out of control, hitting stuff or spin off, that was on oily concrete. Not too good considering youre supposed to be able to handle a car on ice after that course (live in norway, ice is the defacto roadcondition 2-3 months of the year here).Loved the A8 tho!
wow que padre video me encanta esa pelicula es muy buena al igual que tu video felicidades y wow a ver cuando subes uno igual ok robert eres lo maximo y que padres efectos si
I don't get why they didn't just pull the ABS fuse. Usually there is a way to turn off the traction control. Now that I think of it, pulling the ABS fuse would probably solve most of the problems. This was an awesome movie though!!!
all this is marketing.for audi all this is for sales.this was aimed at american market as europen market buy audi already they just want to diversify to us market
"...some of the best stunt guys in the business, some of the best effects guys in the business..." Did they try asking some of the best auto mechanics in the business? Or even just some of the better mechanics in their own neighborhood?
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
And these dumbasses are movie directors?? Shit, I can make better movies if I had a chance. I guess having a college degree in movie-making helps. I think I am going to change my major. (btw, using a forklift and putting the car in parking would have done the trick. Simple and cheap.)
You seem to have the answers to everything: I bet you'd be able to take duct-tape, a string of paperclips, and a AAA battery and make a full-scale, operational "Cloverfield" puppet too, eh?
it rained this morning for the first time in a couple of weeks so the roads were extra slick, i drove my new is300 with trac, snow, abs, all that computerized control stuff. i literally floored the gas coming off of a stop sign around a corner and no, repeat, NO wheelspin whatsoever, it's a strange feeling when you're used to driving older cars without all of that
I agree. Initially, I was weary of the idea, and even more so putting Favreau in charge of directing such a potential blockbluster (or failure), but from all the clips I've seen now...it looks to be a bonified blockbuster of a good time.
Saw the premiere last night and no R8 crash scenes. They definitely wasted those poor R8s for nothing :( At least they gave us a behind the scenes look at them though.
Well, at least all of this footage made it to the film, unlike the destruction of the R8. They trashed two beautiful cars for absolutely nothing there.
so, both this and the R8 suck ass at this kind of thing?

they could have got audi engineers to access the car's 'brain' and disable the driver aids from there though...
